A lot of people on this thread who have porridge use water to make it up and then flavour it however they like to avoid using sugar. Some use muller lights.
You're not, forgot to mention that I make my porridge with water. I have breakfast at work and they don't have dairy free milk there :)

Can't bring myself to use the dodgy hug, so have some kisses instead... :kisses:

Check out Argos, I noticed a nice looking set of digital scales half price in the clearance if they have any in stock near you. Quite tempted to get them myself, I have to argue with my current scales to get them to turn on.

ETA: 6 syns for half a tiny box of Guylian seashells left from yesterday. Plus 1 for a tiny bit of peppercorn sauce from dinner and the 1 already mentioned from breakfast, so that's 8 for the day. Not too bad, all things considered.

    Thanks Ladies. :D

It did say to use water on the back of the packet but I thought that sounded yuk. :o I'll give it ago tomorrow cos then I still get to have my bread. :T

Lush a post on HUKD was saying sainsburys are having a clear out and some people are picking up Salter glass digital kitchen scales for £3 instead of £30 so might be worth looking out for.

Anychance in the mega recipe index on the first page of this thread theres a recipe for KFC style chicken. You only need a packet of smash, some herbs/spices and some egg. It is lovely as i had family stay over and they really enjoyed it and didnt tell them it was a SW recipe.

Welcome to all the new comers and well done on the great losses.

For me this week it was yet another disparing STS. I am putting this down to being my * week as it would follow the pattern in my other books so head down and another week to crack now.

When I was 17 I was 14st 9lbs I joined slimming world and got down to 12st 10lbs then Christmas came and I stupidly stopped going so never reached my target weight :( this was a massive mistake. That was 10 years ago how scary that it was that long ago. During the last 10 yrs the lowest i've got down to was 12st 3lbs and felt great. However 3 months ago I was just under 14st again :( I kinda did slimming world at home and got down to lower end of 13st but then again Christmas came and hey presto feel tubby again. HOWEVER... I'm getting married in May this yr and I wanted to be 11st Something... I dont think I have a chance in hell of achieving that anymore before the wedding. I bought my wedding dress at 13st something tried in on the other day again having put on weight and feel that I look massive in it and feel deflated and fed up. The wedding stress is having a counter productive effect on me. SO I think it's time to get back on the slimming world boat however the thought of walking back through the doors makes me feel sick like the sick feeling you get before an exam :(. Help :(:( I'm useless. My OH just doesnt get it either he is supportive but doesnt see it.

You are not useless and you H2B loves you as you are and probably sees you stressing about your weight and wants to reassure you. Walking back in shows you are strong set your goals and do the extra easy plan get your H2B on board with the delicious food. You will be a beautiful bride x

If you are making porridge with water you will keep your milk/cheese option. Otherwise bread will have to be synned.

Doh, I was thinking that the bread was a HEA the same as the milk. :o

I guess i'll just get to have more milk. :rotfl:

Which sweetener do you lovely ladies use?

I use the yellow Canderal sweetners for my hot drinks but wanted to get some granulated so I can make desserts etc.

Do the posh plant type ones taste any nicer as I hate the horrible after taste?

Hmm, I wouldn't mind knowing what others use either, Have been using granulated Splenda, as you can use it in desserts, but it's pants in a cuppa!

Lets break down the negativity your dealing with and you might get somewhere. My hubby told me when I was OVER 20 stone that he loved me the way I was and I didn't need to lose weight. He loved me as I was. You don't need to lose it... you YOU want to.
He has now lost 3 stone himself at home just by eating what I do.

Weddings are stressful, monumentally, and if you just lose 1lb a week you'll be a stone lighter for your wedding.
    1lb a week. Focus on that ;)
Hubby 'loves' how much more energy i have to play with the kids, how much more content and confident I am..... and so much more. I have my sparkle back :D

Thanks for your post. Do you reckon 30-45 mins walking a day could have that effect?
I'm not a medically trained person Penny, you've been doing this for a while I would hazzard a guess that you are trying to shift the stubborn bits now, and it's becoming a fight.
I walk 45 minutes every other day. So yes, I think it may well be a reaction to your exercise. ESPECIALLY if it's something new.
Experiment for a week or two. Up your HE or use every single syn up. Increase the calories slightly when you exercise.
EXPECT to gain then you don't get the kick in the gut if you do.. and get a nice happy feeling if you don't.
It wouldn't surprise me if you're body is panicing. 45 minutes walking at my speed will burn around 250 calories.(myfitnesspal) - In some cases thats equal to a SW meal. No wonder my body switched off, I was reducing my intake in effect to around 1200 a day. Not enough. Edited to add, You could reduce the exercise, but I think you might miss it now.
    HTH Penny.

remember everyone... ONE WEEK AT A TIME!!! It doesn't happen over night.
  • Morning everyone :)

Job interview 2 today, hoping it goes well - its a 30min spoken interview and a 60min written test!

Didn't fancy anything straight away so 2 satsumas it was, going to have my bran flakes and banana in a moment.
