  • Hi everyone, just found this on the challenges board and I'd LOVE to join!

Spent far too much money on clothes I don't/didn't wear last year, so going to jump in this year with a limit of...

    £200!!

Was going to go for £100 but as I'm on a diet at the mo I may need to buy a few bits. I have some stuff that doesn't fit but may need more. I also need to get clothes for a hen do and a wedding!

    Good luck everyone! :D

I had my first spend today. Went to Newcastle with my mam and only bought one thing. I kept picking up things and talking myself out of buying them, while my mam looked at me like "Who are you and what have you done with my daughter?!" :rotfl:

In the end I bought a pair of boots to replace my no-longer-waterproof trainers. They were on sale and I had some gift vouchers from christmas so in the end a pair of leather boots cost me... £6 :money:

Well no spends in the shops at all...but, this is a big but, I bought fabric and zip etc to make a dress. I just feel like being creative and seeing if I can make a dress with a fabulous perfect fit, In a similar style to a Vivienne Westwood dress I saw that I couldn't afford. So I'm going to include this in my budget but I should end up with a bespoke dress that should last me years.

The fabric ( a wool/silk/linen mix tweed), lining, zip and elastic came to £41.40 so that's £41.40/£300.00 for 041.

My other plans are to use my sewing skills to transform some of my old/too big clothes into a new to me Spring/Summer wardrobe.
Grocery challenge October: £228.28/£250.00 NSD 4 ( not completed)
    Grocery challenge November : £291.65/300.00 NSD 10
Grocery challenge December : £0/240.00 NSD

This is getting really difficult for me. Not just because I am craving for clothes but because I am curbing my spend in all aspect of my life.

I so want to be normal and just be whoever I want to be :(:(:(. Sometimes it feels that all this house buying saga might not be for people like me.

Hang in there Blogger! I'm in the same boat, trying to save a deposit and cutting spending everywhere that I can think of. Your doing so well, wish I was strong enough to stop buying clothes all together.
You should probably let yourself have a little treat now and again though to spur yourself on and avoid sickening yourself to money saving.

Thanks for all the tips too, you are really inspiring the rest of us :T

Pair of oh so comfy black trousers for work from Pineapple £17 (£5 off) and a longsleeved top for Spring £11 (half price).

    so...

I Will Not Window Shop In February.
  • Hi!

Don't think I have a number yet so can't stick it on here, just wanted to report that instead of buying a new coat I have spent £8.00 getting it dry cleaned and repaired.

so my grand total so far is...

    £8/£240 :T
