Who's up for a mad 15 minutes of decluttering today? :j
Me - or at least I will be when I can get myself out of my dressing gown and off this thread.
Boiler is due its service today and I have to empty the pantry for the engineer to get access, which is an ideal opportunity to sort the bizarre collection of paraphernalia in there and declutter, declutter, declutter.....
(though I think it will take more than a mad 15 mins!)

I'm feeling a bit sluggish today but you've made a bit of effort sounds much more manageable than I thought it was, I reckon I can manage a 15 minute declutter spree :j

Managed to get to the CS this morning, so dropped off four large carrier bags full. When I got home I realised the scarf I was wearing didn't keep me warm, so I've started a new CS bag
and the scarf is in it!
donna thank you for the good wishes for the job, and well done on finishing decluttering half your house:T I'm interested in the Project 333 thing - a lot of the stuff I declutter on a regular basis is clothes - I'm not buying the right stuff, obviously, need to work out what I need!Enjoying the power and freedom of letting things go.

I was thinking i need a plain navy jumper for work, then starting to go through my drawers guess what i found :rotfl:1 nice marks and spencer cotton jumper with a gentle cable. Absolutely ideal! So defo going to get through those drawers see what other treasures I have lurking. Like the airing cupboard before they're so jammed full i avoid delving! I reckon the airing cupboard now has a quarter of what it did and is lovely to use (and i now know what we really do need)
Also thought i needed a new hairdryer but guess what i found!
Its amazing what you find in your drawers isn't it!
Stew on....living room, cleaned ... just needs hoovering, just had a nice cup of tea...gonna shoot upstairs and clean the bedrooms/bathrooms and bring hoover down - the floors downstairs are desperate for a hoover0 -

I have two ways of shopping:
Don't buy often but then buy lots of similar items or
Go out for something specific but can never find it!
I have two wardrobes and a deep 3 drawer chest of drawers, in all honesty I probably up to yesterday was wearing 10% of it.
So of the 100% of my clothes,
40% has been binned/given away
40% wearable
20% that I don't currently wear
I think by having all the clothes hanging up together including the scarfs/jewellery (got a beautiful scarf hanger for xmas) it will (a) make finding an outfit each morning much easier (b) save precious time each morning (c) make me more stylish (well a girl can dream :rotfl:0 -

Then I got the bug! I managed to declutter 80 things today! So pleased. I needed to get back on track and in fact get ahead as some busy days ahead.
Just goes to show that just getting stuck in gets you motivated as I felt I was beginning to struggle. There's still mess but that I don't know where to start feeling.

I can definitely recommend the tactic of I'm going to find 10 things to declutter in this room

Hi DoolallyDilly,
I have two ways of shopping:
Don't buy often but then buy lots of similar items or
Go out for something specific but can never find it!
I have two wardrobes and a deep 3 drawer chest of drawers, in all honesty I probably up to yesterday was wearing 10% of it.
So of the 100% of my clothes,
40% has been binned/given away
40% wearable
20% that I don't currently wear
I think by having all the clothes hanging up together including the scarfs/jewellery (got a beautiful scarf hanger for xmas) it will (a) make finding an outfit each morning much easier (b) save precious time each morning (c) make me more stylish (well a girl can dream :rotfl:
Yes, I think I'm buying because I want to be stylish :rotfl:it's not working
I just don't want to waste money buying things that I wear a few times, then send off to the CS (or to the second hand clothes shop we have, to try and get some money for them) because I don't look like I thought I wouldI might need serious help!
A year or so ago, when I thought I had nothing to wear, instead of buying anything, I 'made' myself wear a different outfit (based around all the pairs of trousers I had - 5 pairs) every day for two weeks. It was easy, which made me realise that (a) I did have something to wear and (b) I quite liked my clothes and could make different outfits out of them. I think I might be a bit lazy, need to do that again ...Enjoying the power and freedom of letting things go.

Battling the laptop battery, just wanted to record the following (numbers to follow):
126-160. 35 items from DDs wardrobe to charity
161-165. 5 items from DDs wardrobe to recycling.
Learnt the secret to clearing a child's wardrobe. Just do it when they're not around! The number of years we've battled over it - and I just got on with it by myself and she thanked me when she got home!!!Mortgage [STRIKE]16/03/2011: £190K 01/01/2017: £107,729.65 [/STRIKE] 01/07/2017: £95,979.89
