Finally have something to report. Cleared out the underwear today and decluttered a full carrier bag of old socks and pants to be used for one off cleaning jobs around house
one unworn bra for charity shop and two done ones for bin. And a bunch of old hankies
A lot of it decluttered cos its now too big for me which is also a nice feeling!
Oh and dumped a load of old receipts! And admitted to myself that some of my sales buys are unwearable and need to go back and even sorted out the receipts for them!0 -

Ooh, sorted through the many mags around the house & has decided NO MORE.. unless I get subscriptions as gifts, cannot believe how much £ has been wasted on them in the last 2 yrs!!"There's a little witch in all of us"🔮🪬🧿DEBT FREE 06/2018Mrs SD’s Decluttering 2025 ⭐️ 🥇🥇🥇0 -
Managed to rope in DH to sort out his Tshirt and underwear drawers while I did shoes/handbags and accessories - 33 things to CS and 31 items to bin/rag bag later and his drawers move without shoving and I can close my wardrobe. Running total now 176 items since New Year.
Still need a big fling in my wardrobe as I have kept loads of clothes that are too small for me - I just need to bite the bullet and start chucking!

Mineallmine think its my parent guilt which I suffer from all the time!
Have made good progress but the size of the task is becoming a little overwhelming at the moment. :eek::eek:
One bin bag of rubbish for the tip and one bag of recycling to go out for the binmen. Toys are finally sorted into separate boxes and have reduced the number of cars by 15 but I've been working on the toys for what feels like weeks and weeks! Next box to reduce in size is the hot wheel track.
Have a pile of 30 magazines to decide what to do with - was going to go through them all and read anything interesting but thinking I might just bin them straight away otherwise they could sit there for another few months.
Have started filling a box for car boot sale which I will do before the end of April - promised myself all year last year that I would do one but there was so much stuff I couldn't face it so gave a lot to charity and then sold the rest as a job lot on ebay but am going to limit the amount of stuff to go to car boot this year so its more manageable - anything over that limit will go straight to charity. Have a few items to list on ebay which I'm going to try to get on there tonight when kids asleep.
Clothes charity bag came through the door today for Thursday pick up and I have 2 days off work next week so will make sorting clothes my priority for next week.
Must remember still in the first month of this process so although progress is slow I have given myself the whole year to complete the task.StartingToGetOutofDebt

Up very late today but have cleared one kitchen cupboard and got rid of a whole bag of kitchen stuff. I'm sure it's not that long since I did it but one of the items in there was dated 2006 :eek:
Got another kitchen cupboard to sort through but it's my day to day one and was cleared last year so there shouldn't be too much to bin at all. I'm finding I am buying less for my store cupboard these days just because of the price of everything and am waiting for offers on things to stock up.
DS and DH been talking about my lack of cleaning/clearing the dining table. DS said to me today that the small amount I had left on the table is now building up again, and he could well be right as I have a terrible habit of chucking things on it when I get in from work everyday. Will try and tackle a little it of it today.
Dd room was going to be moved around after me tidying it the other week but she seems to have forgotten about doing that this weekend. If I can get her to give it a good hoover then it shouldn't take long to move things around. If we get things moved then together we can go through her large cupboard in her room over the weekend or next weekend. Might be too much trying to do it all especially as rest of the family is nagging me about the dining table!0 -
Well done to all of you for your decluttering achievements.
I am feeling tired today after having worked full-time this week which I have not done for a couple of weeks now. I have concentrated on doing small tasks today so achievements for today are:
* my personal emails read and some deleted or responded to
* Bathroom and the bathroom shelf cleaned
* All mirrors dusted, this is such an easy task to do now when I have discovered that newspapers is a great way of drying the mirrors
* Decluttered some post
* Another 2 phone calls done
Recycling bin is full ready for the collection on Monday.No toiletries challenge, started 18/1/2010 - Putting £1 in my savings jar for every item that I use up. Pot 1 to 4 = £261. Pot 5=£23

I chose:
* short necklace
* long necklace
* pair of earrings
* pair of knee length boots (vintage leather)
* pair of ankle boots (riding style)
* light circular scarf (patterned)
* wool pashmina (patterned)
* small cross body leather bag
* did have small bum bag, but swapped in large satchel style bag instead
* leather belt for jeans
* waist belt (which is now too big so swapped for another one).
These have been enough for me. Didn't count pair of gloves, hat, vests (i need to wear as breastfeeding), or tights.
HTH, and let us know what you pick as your 33 items.
thank you - had good nose on the website last night and I think this will really help be more mentally organised, I have copied your list to print as a guideline - I think its probably best to pick the clothes first and then work accessories into the outfits?
handbag is easy fo rme - I always carry a suitcase :rotfl:0 -
Well I have tackled a bit of my dining table after i posted pn here earlier due to all the nags from DS, who hasn't helped me but DH did!!!! (That never happens!) So we are a little closer to using the table, I would say a third of the way there, yes it is a real mess and the big cardboard box I put everything in from last time still needs to be tackled. It's mostly full of paperwork so I'm going to go through that last once rest of the room is clear.
For tip/recycling
3 bags misc rubbish
1 broken sky+ box which was hiding under the table for at least 2 yrs
Polystyrene packaging
For CS (added to the bags filled from dd room the other week)
2 bags of books
As I seem to be on a roll, I'm going out to my local 24 hr supermarket tonight to buy more heavy duty bin bags after we've had our dinner. So tomorrow I will have no excuses not to keep going and I don't really want to go out tomorrow as my kids keep telling me we are forecast snow!!! (They are desperate to use their sledge I bought them 2 years ago but since then we've never had enough snow to use it.)0
