  • Still going well today.... I didn't go out, but I watched the Emmerdale Omnibus till 11.30, then got showered and dressed, so didn't really make a start till midday!

Did a bit more sorting of my craft drawers - everything is now in 3 drawers instead of 5, and other bits have been put in their correct places. Makes it so much easier to find things if they're in their proper place!

    A few 'chuck outs' today:

    34. 2012 programme from my Quilters Group - shredded as there were addresses and phone nos in there
    35. Pyrex glass casserole - hubby discovered a chunk out of this when he was washing it up yesterday and cut himself on it.
    36. Christmas TV guide - paper recycling
    37. A fat quarter of fabric - used to make 'wiggly' bags for sick children
    38. Quite a few mini rubber stamps - will give to a friend for her granddaughter
    39. Piece of finished cross stitch it took me about 3 years to complete - going to sew it into a bag for a friend
    40. Rotten piece of fruit put in compost
    41. Out of date pate put in rubbish bin
    42. Remains of a frozen curry that won't be eaten - rubbish bin
    43. Loads of cards and envelopes sorted for Surestart at local library
    44. 4 greetings cards written for January birthdays/anniversarys ready to post

Lots of little fiddly bits, but I'm getting there. Need to take some big stuff to the charity shop next week but I'll list them when I take them.

Not been up in the loft today to check the noises/mousetraps. Wonder if I'll find OrangeFairy up there.....!!

xmas decs up to loft (where the wild things are), beaten a vague path through the "stuff" to put the decs in the corner where they live, found a bag for life up there and grabbed various bits of old tat to recycle and identified the pieces that will be going to the recycle centre on monday if i can sneak them out to the car past the kids.

Half put up the last kitchen shelf, but need to finish it tomorrow.
that's me for today :) keep going everyone!
    :AA/give up smoking (done) :)
  • Good evening all,

I'd like to join you and stick to having a clutter free home.

My bedroom is a hell hole, our washing machine broke down in November so there are piles of clothes everywhere, I can hardly see the floor.

Tomorrow I will sort out what's clean and what needs to be carted off to the laundrette on Monday.

Does anyone know where I can recycle old computers in London? I've got one that is over 11years old, it's just sitting in the house and I'm not sure what to do with it

    Thank you x
    2019 wins: Nothing yet :(
  • Gave my mum some old decorations I no longer wanted & sorted more bits for CS on Monday :) Woo, finally getting somewhere, although still feeling the effects of the lurgy we all had over Xmas & the tiredness is awful... :(
    Well done to everyone today!:T

  • Hello

    Can I join too :j

Since going full time I'm struggling to keep on top of keeping the house tidy - my rational is that if I have less clutter then I have less things to "tidy up", I hope!!
Since reading this thread last night, I got started in my room.

1-19 Old clothes taken to the Charity Shop this morning
Did you know that if you fill in a gift aid form at Cancer Research they give you a number and if you attach that to your donations then they can claim the tax on any profits they make from selling your items. Money from the tax man so win win!"

20-34 Clothes/Shoes bagged and in car ready to go to CS

35-45 Old Towels, my friend takes these to the Dog Shelter

Hoping to get lots more done tomorrow. Don't know if I will have time to declutter 300 items in January, but I'll have a go.

I will declutter, I will declutter............meaning less to clear away and more time to spend with my lovely family
  • Can I join in too? So many areas to declutter in this house! Started last week by clearing the wardrobe and today my husband fixed the sliding door on it (which I've struggled to open for 8 years!!) so happy days! :j

Going to tackle our bedroom tomorrow and the junk glory hole kitchen cupboard next week!

Charity bag to fill for Tuesday too so hoping to be onto a roll by the end of the week! x
