:T Well done for all the decluttering you are all doing.
OH has this week managed to nearly fill our recycling bin with paperwork that he has shredded in his office. You can actually see the carpet now and he has told me that he is continuing to sort out his office over the weekend.
Last night I shredded the pages from 2 diaries. Not sure yet what decluttering I am doing this weekend. No toiletries challenge, started 18/1/2010 - Putting £1 in my savings jar for every item that I use up. Pot 1 to 4 = £261. Pot 5=£23

Hello- room for another one?
I am trying to gradually declutter bits and pieces which have built up - not even necessarily to get rid- putting things in the right place would be a start!! :rotfl:
Have made a start on the bedroom today and pretty pleased with what I managed , have a box of stuff for the charity shop too! need to continue into kitchen and living room ...
Looking forward to top tips from the experts!0 -
Heya tyo  nice to see you here. And well done to everyone - this thread is moving so fast I can't keep up!
Some more outs:
109. Christmas doodling book DD has had for 2 years but only doodled on 2 pages - recycling (harsh, but she hasn't got enough space in her activity drawers now for it. The MIL fished it out and asked her if she wanted it :rotfl:!).
110. top was given and looks rubbish on - charity bag
111-113. toys DS doesn't play with - charity bag. We have a large wicker hamper in the living room, and as it wasn't able to close any more I had a sort out and moved things around too.

De-cluttered 3 sets of Christmas tree lights tonight. 2 sets were over 25 years old so have seen active service but half the bulbs had gone and another set blew this year when there must have been a power surge around a power cut. Christmas Tree to be de-cluttered tomorrow when DH about to help me drag it out to the hedge tomorrow.Make £10 per day in July £45.48/£310

Right.... have had a good sort out of my craft drawers today. It's a 5 drawer Ikea unit, not very wide, but I tended to just chuck stuff in them instead of putting it away in the proper place. So today I emptied the lot on the floor, and have reduced 5 drawers full down to 2 so far.
25. Wooden cutlery holder used to hold pens in the study - charity shop
26. PVC apron I bought a couple of years ago and has been in a drawer ever since - charity shop
27. 2 mini bottles of wine still wrapped from an event we went to last February! We will drink the wine, then keep one bottle as it has a special label on it
28. 2 fridge magnets - charity bag
29. Hairband - charity bag
30. Patchwork table mat - charity bag
31. Heart confetti left over from an event - charity shop
32. Fabric scraps - fabric recycling bag
33. 2 revolting items from the freezer put out for rubbish collection today
Hoping to sort some more out tomorrow, if I don't go out. I'm not planning to, but then I might just sit and catch up on Emmerdale.... Still, I'm up to 33 items already and it's only the 4th of the month! And there's me thinking we didn't have much more to declutter!
One thing I wouldn't mind decluttering is whatever it is up in our loft that scratches away at night and frightens the life out of me!!! We think it's a squirrel so hubby has put some chicken wire up where he thinks it may be getting in, also set a couple of mousetraps in case it's mice. Hoping that if it's a squirrel it can't get in any more: we had a dead one up there a couple of summers ago and it stunk the house out!
A good opportunity to declutter the loft a bit more methinks...Keep Calm and Carry On Kondoing

I've been at work yesterday and today, so no decluttering has been done for two days. But I'm very impressed with everyone's efforts. I wonder how many tons of clutter have been ditched by MSE posters since the start of the year? Rather a lot I should think.
This weekend I'm very hopeful that eBay will help my decluttering efforts. I've got several auctions ending with bidders, and others with watchers, so some stuff should be leaving the house early next week.
I will also be looking at the boxes of 7 inch singles that I got down from the loft, getting them dusted, graded for condition and sorted into lots for ebaying.
I previously tried selling singles as individual items, but it was very slow. I'd never get rid of them doing it like that. I have sold a couple of job lots of singles, so that will be the way to go. We have a surprising amount of singles, back to the 50's in my husband's case all the way through to the 80's.
It might be a slow process, but if I can do something towards the decluttering everyday I'm at home, I'll get clutter free in the end.Early retired - 18th December 2014

Wow everyone has done so much already.
I started decluttering the kids toys but its a mammoth task - 7 years worth to go through.
Two boxes sorted through already and all broken/toys with missing bits in a bag ready for the tip. Have got another 4 or 5 boxes to go and then bags and bags of kids books to sort out. I have given myself the task of reducing the kids toys by half within 2 weeks. Need to decide which ones will be sold/donated to charity but its hard to let go of toys that loved ones have given my kids as presents but I can't keep it all.
Hoping that tomorrow the kids will be with their dad for a bit so I can take a trip to the charity shop with some old books I sorted out before christmas but couldn't quite let go of but ready to send them packing now together with some old kids clothes.
I have even booked a day off work to have more time to dedicate to this task. I'm amazed that even though I thought I'd decluttered last year I obviously didn't do that good a job as there is still tons of stuff in my house.
I'm trying not to replace the old stuff with new as well but know one thing I do really want is a cupboard to put our shoes in as at the moment they are piled up in the corner of the living room and I hate looking at them all the time!!!!!!StartingToGetOutofDebt
