  • hi all

I have been lurking for a while and getting ideas off the old style boardsand this week have begun my efforts to declutter!

I have managed to fill both bins and have cleared out the garage, sorting out items to list on various selling sites as suitable for car booting, I have far more stuff than I could ever sell myself. I have sorted 3 bags for recycling and setan area upfor storing items iam putting on auction sites.

I am still wading through boxes I have in front room however we have cleared the table and have eaten our meals at it this week.

I did make a list of what I wanted to achieve today and whilst most of it. I never got round to I didntplan on the whole garage clear out that occured.

Just getting dd ready for a party and whilst she isnt around I will spend the time trying to sort the boxes in the front room.

It doesnt help that i am ill, but I am determined to sort the clutter!

How has everyone else done today?

I have a deadline of this weekend to move stuff away from windows as we are having new ones next week, I cleared the surfaces in the bedroom today it wasn't too bad but it's one of the places that clutter gathers in my house. I threw out a laprop case that I love but the zip is broken and repairing it is beyond me told DH not to recover it LOL....

    ive had busy day,
trees down and all decs, cleaned through living room and damp dusted it all and hoovered and all back to normal in here.

took literally a car load of old clothes etc to the recyling place and had £14 but dont feel too bad as they fundraise for macmillan and the clothes get to someone who needs them and my fave charity makes something, im saving up for a tablet or ipad for other halfs 40th in april so its towards that.

took 2 buckets of batteries to tesco to recycle as work in a hospital and its ridiculas that they get thrown, but pain at times as they sit in my car ages lol.

now washing all all the fleeces etc from the living room, as we have animals its the easiest way of keeping sofas clean.

recycled old cushions as had them years and zips have gone etc, but ive some other cushion covers i had before so they will do for now

so thats my start of recycling for 2013, hope it continues x

  • Hmmmm, I am sure I wrote a post on here yesterday, but I can't seem to find it on any of the pages.... maybe I wrote it out and didn't press the 'submit' button...! Oh well, anyway, I can't remember what I got rid of yesterday but my total is up to 24.

Going to have a little session this evening on clearing my 'craft drawers' (actually started it this morning, but then daughter and granddaughter came over so I had to leave it). Nearly done most of it but I will list the bits after dinner.

    But I have actually started!!!!

5 more items to make up my total for today:

    Broken wax hand
Fabric used for practising sewing on
Old stained calico bag (replaced with nice new one found in kitchen cupboard yesterday)
    Ironing board
Broken Christmas lights (my cat is very naughty about chewing wires, he has not yet been electrocuted fortunately)

Also put away Christmas decorations and trees.

Will try and either list on ebay or sell to Amazon some DS games tonight, as have a drawer full of boxes that could do with using for my sewing.

Didn't manage to do any decluttering due to an unplanned hospital visit. Working again today, but managed to sort and price three boxes of stock.

Off to an auction tomorrow, so will try not to buy more than I am selling :rotfl:

Sorted out the drawers under the bed, got rid of a load of gift bags that are not good enough to re use. Also went through the pile of paperwork, lots recycled some to deal with and some to file.
Going to do the boys room tomorrow, they started to tidy it earlier but it's a mess and they need my help.

    Have a lovely evening

Done some decluttering at work today - piles and piles of stuff my predecessor had got printed out and left piled up on the desk adjoining mine (presumably by way of a handover ). I just kept a few of the more recent things to read once I have sorted out the muddle everything was left in  and swept the rest into the recycling bin :rotfl:

It made me feel much more in control without all that hanging over me, and also cleared a desk for a temp we will have starting in a couple of weeks :D

Saturday tomorrow, no work, so more to do at home. Stuff to CS, and I need to do a freezer inventory :)
