I am getting something delivered today so I am looking around for something to go out.

I have a TV that I never use but I'm not sure the CS will take it as it is one of those old huge ones and I feel guilty abut it going to landfill.

  • I haven't been on here in ages and am about to start 2014 the same way I started 2013: wanting to declutter!!!
I have started collecting some bits for charity but in reality I have reached the point when I just have too much stuff and not enough space.
One of my most prolific items is pet stuff. Since getting 2 chinchilla's I've gone overboard buying in 'bargain' hay, food etc and now have too much. :-(
Must learn my lesson this year. Must learn my lesson this year.

Back to decluttering. Was going really well till april when i decluttered a husband who had fallen in love with another, ho hum. So tonight will be my first new years eve without xoh in 30 years. We're still sharing a house but in separate bedrooms, and have both agreed 2014 we will finish the decluttering. Havent read the thread since shtf but very happy to be back and wanted to explain my absence. So yesterday
    1) decluttered wool stash - now all nicely tidied, half-finished projects either unpicked or thrown depending on size, sorted into a box of dk and a box of other. Have a nice project for 2014 already on the go
    2) decluttered all the toiletries. We have 2 bathrooms in the house so xoh has the en suite and i have the family bathroom. I am very happy about this, and get it to myself most of the time cos the children are all at university. So toiletries - threw some, distributed some, stored some.
    3) decluttered one bag from 'the room of requirements'. This is the attic den the children had and is now dumping ground, piled high with boxes and bags of cr@&
Marriage over, threw myself into my job and went for a promotion (successful) which will involve a lot of travel, but when i'm home will be decluttering and updating.

I am not a fan of minimalism, and have an antiques and vintage unit, which means that spare stock is usually around the house, mostly in the loft and garage, but there are bits in other places as well :o

I too am a dealer which is the cause of the problem. We have so much stock that we could probably list on Ebay for the next year and still have stock left

However, I have just given up two units in my antique centre, and managed to squeeze everything into the one I have left, but my car is now full of stuff

However, at least I have made a major step in downsizing and now need to start sorting the stuff in the house.

My 750 sq ft lock up, however, is an entirely different problem
