I am going to go through a box in my wardrobe today. I'm going to chuck out my old university yearbooks and whatever else I can find.

Oops, just remembered to go through that box now.:p The yearbooks are in the bin along with a plastic bag of chewed bag of teddies my dog savaged.:D

I moved some things around last night and brought a small chest of drawers downstairs to use as storage for stuff like long life soya milk, tea and pasta and rice.:T

  • Managed to get a lot of housework done over the weekend but not so much decluttering. Did however write a table, breaking down the house into "zones" for decluttering, and whenever i get some spare time I will tackle them one by one - more manageable that way. Going out the house today are a PS3 game, juicer and coat, all of which I have sold.

I can report success with my ebay auctions - 10 items have been posted or couriered out today.

I've spent a fair amount of time on listing them, answering questions, packing and then queuing in the post office, but it's worth it. Once the 4 that end tomorrow are posted, I will have emptied a box of items that were waiting to be ebayed (some for quite some time) plus got rid of a pile from the spare room.

Even better, the proceeds have paid for a few little extras for Christmas presents and some money that I am keeping for the post Christmas sales.
  • I've had a quick clean round this morning, changed bed, hoovered all though the house, managed to get rid of...

1 old dvd player that only decides to work when it feels like it...bin!
    4 of ds's old tops...charity bag
1 carrier bag of paperwork and junk mail..bin
1 large box that dh was keeping incase he needed one .. men! ... broken up and put in the recycle bin.
    new pack of coasters...charity bag
2 pairs of ds's old school trousers.... will take to school for the second hand shop
an old coat of mine that is much too big...charity bag
4 parcels all packaged up and ready to go post office this afternoon
1 avon book... take back to the lady across the road
1 kleeneeze book, not been collected so in the bin.

think that will do for today... I did a huge declutter a few weeks back so its just a case of keeping on top of it now

    Evening everybody

Just got back home from a Christingle Service at dgd2's school - so, naturally, have brought a Christingle home with me to add to our festive decorations.

Also brought home another couple of Christmas presents that I'd forgotten when writing my list - oops :o. It's time to start wrapping them this evening as dsis will be here for a visit on Saturday, so will need to be gift-exchanging with her :D.

Decluttered Christmas cards to neighbours this morning - thankfully another task to be 'ticked off the list'. Need to get some written for the folks at the Charity Shop where I volunteer - will have to do that this evening, as I'm 'on-shift' tomorrow.

Also got some 'present wrapping' scheduled in for this evening.

Dgd1 is due here later for 'an overnighter' - she's a prefect at school and is expected to be 'On-Duty' this evening for a school Open Evening. I'm only around the corner from her school, so it's better than travelling three miles home and three miles back again in the morning.

Charity Shop tomorrow - have got a 'bag of about 10 items' to take in with me .... :j
  • i did manage to clear about two big bags of shredding and old mags and papers. all the christmas catalogues have gone in the recycling as well as the shopping is done.
hand delivered or posted loads of christmas cards i think its about 3 years since i bought general cards as i'd got so many stashed away.

still got a pink tree upstairs for my niece if my sister visits before christmas.

DD2 came and wrapped for England but has decided all her pressies for partners kids are staying stashed here till boxing day when santa will need to deliver them.

Good morning, declutterers - cold and miserable here at the moment after a frosty night :(. I've heard that there's another forecast for strong winds AGAIN over the weekend - aaargh!

Well done to everybody for all your efforts - sounds like we're all having 'a last big push' in this final week before Christmas - hope we're all on schedule for success.

I've now got 2days of being in/out/in/out and this is where I start to let myself down. Have a nasty tendency to just 'dump and run' when I come home to go back out again ................ :(.

I've got Christmas Cards to take out with me for the other helpers in the Charity Shop where I volunteer PLUS a 'bagful of stuff' to donate. I'm sure I can find some more to take in with me for tomorrow's shift as well ................ I think there's a box of toiletries lurking in the bottom of my blanket box.

Hoping (lol) to convert a couple of jars of Extra-Special Mincemeat with Brandy and Port into Mince Pies this evening - fingers crossed.

I'm now the proud owner of a lovely new 'wally trolley' courtesy of my OH - after my previous one had fallen apart . It was mainly due to the heavy weight of all his bottled water that he's got a penchant for . I've made sure that this one has the 'back-strap' stitched into the side seams of the main bag instead of just being added to the back of the bag.

Need to buy 7 Lucky Dip Lottery Tickets today - to go inside Christmas Cards for grown-up nephews/nieces and also need to find some pj's for eldest son's stepson - so a trip to Asda early evening is called for :).

I need some motivation to sort out my bedroom - so can I please request some 'positive vibes' from you all? It's getting pretty desperate in there ................:o.

Keep up the Good Work - and please 'kick my asre' for me ;).

Good morning all - hope you are not lost in your bedroom Lilyplonk!

As usual with me, the decluttering grinds to a halt in December.

The following is what I've done in the last few weeks

377 Worn out trousers – clothing bank
378 2 Bottles of salad dressing – to work, for charity bottle draw
379 Old bottle olive oil - bin

So I'll declare my 2013 total as 379 things (or batches of things) decluttered. My target was 365. If everything was counted singularly, it'd be getting near 1000 things, I would imagine.

I'm very pleased to had sorted out all the old photos in the loft, they are all neatly stored, and I've managed to sell all our old 7 inch singles - some individually, some in batches.

There are gaps appearing in the loft, which I will continue with in the new year.

There is one box of things I haven't come across yet - it must be up there somewhere, perhaps I'll find it next year!

I'm sure there'll be a 2014 thread, so I'll see you there, and in the mean time have a MERRY CHRISTMAS

    Morning Goldiegirl :hello:

I HAVE finally managed to 'fight my way' out of the black hole of Calcutta (aka the spare room).

It's still a 'bit of a tip' in there BUT it's an 'organised tip' at the moment ..............
    • - Boxes have been investigated, re-organised and restacked.
    • - Christmas Food Stash is starting to creep into the Kitchen.
    • - Knitting/Sewing Stashes are back into their respective lidded crates and re-stacked.
    • - Christmas presents are being wrapped - some have already 'gone to be delivered by Lovely Sister Santa'.
    • - Sheets have been changed and bed is ready for whichever grandchild is next-in-line for an 'overnighter'.
    • - Made a start on clearing the 'dirty laundry basket' yesterday - some is dry and ready for putting away and another load is going in shortly. Last night's load is ready for going on the airer - weather has 'turned nasty again' this morning, so not risking the washing line today.
    • - Due to visitors yesterday, Living Room is 'looking good' and hopefully will remain that way - at least for another couple of days.
    • - Also due to visitors yesterday, Bathroom was cleared, dusted, mopped, clean bath mats down, toilet bleached etc.
Got a busy day ahead - need to go for some gift vouchers from a particular Toy Shop that grandkids love to visit - and it's in the next Town. Not even in the Town Centre - it's on one of those damn retail parks .................. and I travel by bus .

Also need a trip into Liverpool - opposite direction - as dgd wants vouchers for Primark. At least she's now learning where she can 'get plenty of clothes for her bucks' ............

Hope everybody is having a 'last push' and looking forward to catching up with any posts when I get back home - that is IF I ever make it back home again ....................

Feel a bit like Captain Scott of The Antarctic - 'I MAY be some time ............!'
