    Not much from me either:

    Pile of paper shredded
Christmas box with decorations/cards/tinsel etc sorted out. Filled up carrier bag of stuff that hasn't been used over the past 5/6 years or are a bit past it & binned. (Only putting a few things up this year - tree & some lights on the living room window)

Christmas card to Australia & a Christmas present to England posted last weekend

A 5 pot/pan stand - binned (couple of kitchen cupboards re-arranged, so pots that I hardly use are now in there to collect some dust instead of on the kitchen counters)

'sneaking into the thread very quietly through the back door :o' ............

I can't believe that I've not been on this thread since April  - and even more embarrassing is the fact that I can't even use 'massive decluttering' as an excuse :o.

My Living Room is a total mess at the moment, bedrooms are both still full of boxes of stuff - Christmas Food Stash / 2 of Fabric Stash / 1 of Wool Stash / Baking Stuff / Food Processer+its bits / My shoes / His shoes / My handbags / Travel Bags / Cosmetics, Toiletries, Perfume Stash / Mixed Presents Stash / Bags of bought Christmas Pressies ready for wrapping ...................

The only items that are very tidily stored away are towels (neatly folded on shelves in what used to be an airing cupboard :j); bedding (again neatly folded in sets in their respective bed drawers :T); cd's and dvd's in storage boxes on a book case; 'officey-type stuff' in a set of plastic tower drawers; bills & paperwork in 'filing box'.

I really need to 'kick my backside into gear' and get this place sorted in the next few days - or else Christmas won't be happening for the second year on the run :o. Didn't happen last year cos I was moving house between Christmas/New Year and EVERYTHING was in 'boxes-to-go'!

I'll be back in again later in the day with a list of what needs doing - and hopefully news of some progress.

Good Luck to everybody who posts regularly - looking forward to getting MY motivation from the rest of you .................. no pressure then, eh :rotfl:.

    Hello !

I remember being very impressed with your de-cluttering, you certainly inspired me to get cracking for 2013!

I'm sure that once you get started again, you'll soon get back into the de-cluttering routine!

Hello also to fevertotell - you are very welcome

Jess - clearing the box room sounds a bit epic .... I know from experience that a lot of stuff can lurk in box rooms!

2 more ebay items posted today.

We've been working on Christmassy craft projects, I've finished one with 3 more in progress. So decluttered 2 pieces of Christmas fabric that wer lurking in my fabric box.

Freezer and half of the kitchen cupboards this afternoon. Lost count, but I am 'guesstimating' at least 40 thinks gone.

Thanks for that confidence boost, Goldiegirl :A.

Basically, I've had a very busy Spring/Summer/Autumn with child-minding, mother-sitting, volunteering, gardening etc - and that's possibly why the house-work and decluttering have been put onto the 'back burner'.

I'm only working out a list for ONE room at a time - it'll be too daunting otherwise. I'll strike out each task when done to keep track of where I'm up to.

Decluttering list for my Living Room
Put everything back where it should 'live'. - Partly done!
[STRIKE]Shufty furniture around to make space for the Christmas Tree.[/STRIKE] - Done
Check all paperwork to see what needs recycling/shredding/filing. - Partly done!
[STRIKE]Recycle any catalogues, takeaway menus etc.[/STRIKE] - Done
    Clean paintwork and windows.
Put all 'regular ornaments' to make way for Christmassy ones.
[STRIKE]Find Christmas music, dvd's, books etc and put on book case to use in next couple of weeks.[/STRIKE] - Done
Replace broken curtain track with new pole.
    Alter and re-hang curtains.
    [STRIKE]Dusting and vacuuming.[/STRIKE] - Done
    Check Christmas Tree Lights.
Get Christmas Deccies out of their boxes.
Hunt for Christmas Tree - think it's in the loft :undecided
Replace all batteries in animated figures and remote controls!
Remove sofa throws and cushion covers and wash/dry.

I've got my Family History Group tomorrow early evening, but will 'get stuck in' for a couple of hours before I go out.

When I get back home tomorrow, I'll make a start on another Decluttering List.

Thanks folks and Good Luck to everybody who battles with self-motivation ........................
