Major clean and tidy today ready for Christmas. The remaining kitchen cupboards decluttered and at least 30 plastic tubs thrown away - why do I insist on keeping them - along with numerous plastic bags and old dusters.

Also juicer set aside to take to the CS when I get a chance as I never use it.

Probably wont be any more decluttering now until after Christmas. The next job to tackle is my wardrobe - a little worried that once I get rid of the 'rubbish' there won't be much left to wear.

I have been mia :o for a few weeks as I have been under the weather and too tired to think about cleaning let alone decluttering.

However now Christmas is over and I am sitting looking at a massive pile of gifts (we were very lucky) which all need homes I think that the decluttering needs to start again :D

Today is a day of relaxation but tomorrow I will get the tree and decorations packaged up and off to the loft and then I will think of how to approach the rest of the mess!

Not even going to think about how many new things have come in over the last few days! Good news is that there is room for at least some of them due to the decluttering in November.

    Decluttered today:
    Bracelet sold on ebay
    Binned rusty old nail file
Used up bottle of clarifying lotion
  • Gosh, stumbling back into this thread after being MIA for quite a time - good to see everyone is still decluttering like mad! I'm still keeping an eagle eye on my house, to make sure no clutter remains undealt with!

I've decluttered a few more Christmas chocolates today :D and I was very excited to discover that our council are offering free collection for electrical items to be recycled :o (I have such a thrilling life) - I know there are a few electrical bits and bobs around the house that need to go, but not quite enough to make a trip to the tip worthwhile. Will be gathering all the bits together this afternoon.

I added some clothes to my 'on going' charity shop bag yesterday - will be dropping them off at the end of next week, when I'm passing. DS1 is back from college, and is willing to have a good declutter of his bedroom at some point over the holidays - I'm really looking forward to it :o (I need to get out more!).

Lovely to be back, and happy Christmas and a Happy, uncluttered, 2014 to everyone!
Enjoying the power and freedom of letting things go.

Can't say this is de-cluttering. But all Christmas decs & tree have been taken down, put back into their boxes & have been put back into the loft for another year.
Listed some stuff on a buy/sell/swap page on facebook, a couple of days ago. But no takers.
Usual recycling of paper/cans/tins/cardboard put in recycling bin.
Some wine has been decluttered & put to use by me - as in drinking it. :-D
More paper shredding has been done
Planning to go through the wall cupboards in the kitchen (food & plate/glass). Just to see what there actually is. And to see what needs to be used/get rid off

    Hello

I've decluttered the diningroom cupboard today. I've got rid of some stuff that we don't use and made room for a couple of new serving plates that we will use. I've also reorganised a shelf under the stairs.

Got rid of a lot of recycling stuff today DH went to the tip. Still a lot to go but the rest will be collected on Monday.

Hoping to post a bit more frequently to keep us motivated.

    Good Morning fellow Declutter-ers :hello:

Lovely bright, sunny morning here - no winds at the moment BUT they're forecast again for 'the back end of next week' along with low temps :(.

I've been a good girl and managed to 'keep on top of' rubbish and recycling during the past week :j. Including Turkey and Chicken carcases currently being recycled into stock - as I post - in the SC. Once that task is complete, the bones can also get turfed out with the rubbish.

We have a 'Recycling Collection' due tomorrow morning which will be much appreciated as it's even fuller than usual :rotfl:. Just a pity that the 'Household Waste' won't be collected for another week :(.

Had a 'good sort out' of my bedside drawers - amazing what $hite collects in there. Now nicely re-arranged with bags containing face care stuff/potions/lotions, nail stuff, foot care stuff etc.

Visitors due later today and some more on Tuesday - after that the Christmas Tree and deccies can all come down again and get put away into their 'permanent homes'. It's time to get everything 'back to normal' again - whatever 'normal' IS !

Good Luck with 'sorting out', everybody. Catch up again later :D.

I've been MIA recently, but we had a nice clear Christmas due to the good work over the last few months - thank you:T

I even managed to declutter some of the Christmas decorations before putting them up :D

Whilst the DSs were home I asked them to go through their clothes that they have left behind here - result is a sack ready for recycling.

Over the last few weeks I have been deliberately putting things we don't use up into the attic bedroom, so that we can sort them out without making more mess downstairs. DH wants to start sorting this afternoon - wish me luck

And I've got some stuff to put on eBay - yay for free listings!
I can cook and sew, make flowers grow.

Recycling day tomorrow. The children are under strict orders to bring everything down from their rooms that needs to go. They are doing well, they have removed the gifts from the cardboard boxes. Emptied their chocolate boxes and eaten the contents.

I have a few candles on the go which are just about burnt out so the remnants will be going in the wheelie bin which is also going to b emptied tomorrow.

Not really decluttering but I have used up some items in the fridge that are nearing their use by date.

I think I might take the tree down tomorrow. We always take it down before the new year. We like to go into the new year without the last years decorations if you see what I mean.

    Happy decluttering.
