  • I have a bag of stuff in my kitchen for the CS. I actually decluttered it away into a cupboard but this thread has reminded me about it!:D

I will add at least 5 items into the bag today.

We're currently decorating our dining room and have decided to cover one of the walls in storage, it's a wasted room really and we're short on storage so we're carefully planning that at the moment. For me a big part of decluttering is improving storage for what you want to keep, and where possible we use money I've made from decluttering and surveys etc to do this!

Hoping to have some time over the weekend if not before to get some clothes photographed and listed on Facebook.

took DS2 shoe shopping last week for school shoes, hed gone up 2 sizes over the summer (different make so i dont think it was as extreme as it sounds) anyway lots of shoes in the rack i cant recall anyone wearing recently and now his feet are bigger than mine i decided to cull a few pairs, 6 pairs of trainers and a pair of shoes were deemed too small so theyre off to the clothes bank. while i was at it i got him 12 new pairs of socks so am culling all the little socks as most were past it.
DD2 took a load of mugs and kitchen stuff when she came at the weekend.
and have a box of junk ive culled from the garage to bin.
used up another body lotion and a sample sachet of face stuff so packaging binned or recycled as appropriate.

yorkielass do you mean elbay? i didnt think you could sell on fb unless ive read your post wrongly

There are loads of selling groups on fb, some are local groups, buy and sell London for example, but others are for specific things. I've sold some ladies clothing and also some guiding and craft stuff on there in recent months.

Currently slowly decluttering our house, I have a 7 year old who is unwilling to part with old toys and a husband who moans about it all but doesn't help with the decluttering!

Have spent the morning posting a load of thing on my local Facebook selling page and have another 3 items listed on ebay. Also did a run to the local tip with some old slabs that have been sitting around in the garden.

Hi all, i have been reading through the thread for a while and i am about halfway through, just thought i would say hi!! you have all inspired me someway or another up to now and i have been decluttering my house like a good 'un!! We now have no mail that isnt needed on the chair in the kitchen, it has been shredded or put into the new folder for all the docs that we have to keep hold of.

i have sent a large i*ea bag full of clothes and other bits and pieces to the charity shop, sorting out mine and dh's wardrobes along the way

another large bag destined to either go to the air ambulance recycle bin at the local tip or the one for tickled pink at the local asda, may end up with one for each at this rate!

my middle bedroom has been fully cleared and now looks like a spare room :) i have a set of drawers in there that i have managed to have 2 drawers set aside for christmas presents (currently 3 quarters full!) so that has kept another clutter out of the way

    next jobs are;

    - understairs cupboard - when i pluck up the courage!!
    - smallest bedroom (junk room) want to make this into an office
    - airing cupboard, i have a lot to sort out in here, charity shop and selling will commence in this one
    -kitchen cupboard that stores food
    - dh's bedside cabinet
    - bathroom cabinet (technically its a kitchen cupboard but it is home to everything that belongs in the bathroom)
    - cleaning cupboard

i think thats it! oh and my desk at work, i have started this one but seen as everyone at work likes to plonk everything on it i may be here a while!!!!

    Lea!! xx

  • welcome LeaLea, you have certainly made a good start with your decluttering.

finished another bottle of shower gel last night, seem to have lots of bottles with just dregs in so going through them pretty quickly.
current project is the garage, ive got loads of boxes of Dh stuff out and trying to put like with like, its a long haul but im getting there. he agreed its long overdue, ive left a couple of boxes of what i think are rubbish for him to go through at the weekend. hoping the dump pile will get bigger.
found a shopping trolley that can go to the CS while i was in there.
donated a book to the shelf in the local Drs waiting room this morning and took a load (well carrier bag full ) of cans to tesco to get points for recycling them.
