Last night I finally managed to clean our conservatory windows on the inside and the door frame, loads of dirt removed. Also, hoovered the house. A few more toiletries have been used up and recycled.

    Good luck with your decluttering.

I cleaned my conservatory today too. Used my hoover to suck up the millions of cobwebs!

I have just spent the last 2 hours hoovering and at the same time using the flat mate (my flat dust brush) to clean underneath the sofas, on top of cupboards etc. The flat mate is brilliant it saves me from moving the furniture and I can still clean underneath, then I just hoover the brush. Once it gets really grotty I put in the washing machine. Next on the list today is to clean the bathroom and do the ironing.

I sorted through my lipstick bag earlier this week and threw away 1 unloved lipstick. 1 magazine is being given to MIL later today.

    Hello

I usually "call in" during the school holidays however, it's nearly time to go back. I have been decluttering, the children's clothes are all sorted and new uniform bought. All old stuff has been sent to charity/passed on.
We have just sorted out under-the-stairs and DH has taken a black bag to the tip with some items to recycle.
We really need to sort our bedroom out. Hoping to get it done this week.
The shed has also been tidied and rubbish got rid of.

Decluttering will now slow down - but house feels better.

Today I am not doing much but yesterday I finally made my own first draught excluder for the front door. Once everyone is at home it will lie in front of the front door on the inside. I am chuffed with myself how easy it was to make. I used an old trouser leg and stuffed it with unloved clothes and then sealed it with 2 cotton laces from an old top that I have I have tied into a bow. This has inspired me to continue to sort throw my wardrobe so that I can make more draught excluders.

The recycling bin is full and is thankfully being emptied tomorrow.

Just home from our holiday and boy do we need a good declutter. The children have more toys than they could possibly want to play with and we are not far behind with random stuff,

Going for a radical minimising approach and have sorted their toys and my clothes.

We also sorted half of the books and will hopefully sort the other half so we can take the things that do not get read to the charity shop.

It is not being helped by family appearing to think they can buy our children's affections by showering them with random toys at every given opportunity.

    Hiya All

    Hope you are all okay?

I have been lurking and decluttering for a while but i thought i would say hi!

This weekend was a good one for me, we decluttered the wardrobes first and have about 40-50 items between me and my hubby ready for the charity shop, about 20 items for the bin, we now have wardrobe space!! Managed to get all the washing and ironing done and then all put away ready for it to start again this week but at least it is all put away :).

Unfortunately my pooch decided to knock my lamp over in my bedroom so thats gone in the recycling aswell!

Yesterday my mum and dad came to help with my garden, we had an old coal bunker from when we moved in and at that time we did have coal but one bunker we were never able to get into and we found it was full of cr*p so there is about 10 big sacks fill of rubbish to go from out of there along with some tools we have been able to salvage and some axle stands etc. :) Skip arriving tomorrow so we can put all the concrete in from the bunker (hubby knows a delivery driver of the skips so we can get it nice and cheap - moneysaving all the way!)

next stop on the decluttering is the cupboard under the stairs and then my spare room which resembles a junk yard! wish me luck!!

    sorry for the rambling post!!

    xx

I've also listed some furniture on gumtree, although no interest yet. It is all sensibly priced. If I don't get any takers, I'll phone the charity shop which collects furniture and they can have it. It would be nice to get a few pennies for it, but ultimately I'd rather have the space.

Assuming they turn up, one item is going tonight and I'm in discussions with an interested party for another item. Slower than ebay but sufficiently stress free.

Decluttering is definitely slowing down. I may have to start on the larger round tuits

Can't believe it's been 2 months since I posted. Not sure what I've achieved decluttering wise in that time, I've certainly sold some stuff - will have to have a think and post later.

I feel I've lost my MSE way a bit recently and need to get back on it I became a mortgage free wannabee today, making my first overpayment :j

My big job for the next few weeks is to get rid of some clothes, I have a pile that's been in my sewing room marked as get rid of for nearly a year and I haven't missed them so they're going - going to try some of the f*cebook groups first, then ebay.

Will keep posting this time - the motivation helps :A

gumtree people never turned up last night. hate time wasters. Hopefully they'll appear today like they say they will, as item is cluttering up my hallway :/

deep cleaning second half of kitchen today. I have the attention span of a gnat for tasks like these, so I've been doing a cupboard at a time. Slow but steady progress. Got some more bits for the CS.

Hoping to nag OH into sorting out his wardrobe later. It is bulging at the seems with clothes that haven't seen the light of day for years. Some of them have got to go.
