    Happy new year :)

Today we have sorted through a few boxes in the spare room that have been untouched since we moved here last january. Mainly books, most of which have been set aside to donate or sell. A massive big box full!

A couple of days ago we went through all the kitchen cupboards and next job will be cupboard under the stairs and my sideboard thingy (dumping ground of all things 'misc'). We live in a very small house, so not much chance to gather too much clutter thankfully!

Today i de-cluttered my handbag.I had reciepts from oct in it for things like bread and a pint of milk.I knew i had to do it when i was outside Sainsburys this afternoon and i was 10 mins looking for my car keys.I thought i'd lost them, that awful feeling you get wasn't nice.Done now, work tomorrow and Thursday so my de-cluttering will have to wait till Friday.

    Good Luck all xx
  • Nothing to report today really. Had grandson stay overnight, he is nearly 5 and disabled and was a pain to get to sleep. He finally dropped off at about 1/4 to midnight, and I thought he would be woken up by all the fireworks. But no, he slept through them, and didn't wake up until 9.15 this morning, so I can't complain. We didn't get anything done though, as we were feeding, changing, dressing and playing with him till we took him home at 12. Went for dinner at my daughter's, didn't get home until 6pm, and then couldn't really be bothered to start decluttering. So, a failure day for me as far as decluttering goes, but I have made a big list of everything I want decluttered, so when I start on that I'll be on a roll.

Had a bit of 'me' time tonight doing some sewing... there's plenty of time for decluttering tomorrow... or the day after... (can you tell I'm not so enthusiastic any more!!!)

I need a good wake up kick up the bum to get motivated again... something like the estate agent ringing and saying someone wants to view the house! Haven't had anyone since the end of October so we're getting a bit disheartened and letting it go a bit... So..... watch this space!

Not a lot going on today as we had friends round and went out for a walk. But I did manage to send friend home with two pairs of welly socks that I wont use (new).
  • Oooh.. I'm joining in this year, have so much that needs decluttering... I'm not giving myself an actual target, yet but really would like to feel less crowded in our home!

not had a great decluttering day - feel as I am sorting out one area the kids are unravelling another four behind my back.

hung one picture (another 8 to go)
finished one craft project (gym bag for dd - took about 3 mins!)
fixed my bed - (twice, first attempt worked for a mere 5 mins and then broke again. bah)
recycled 5 jars, the christmas and my birthday cards
thrown various random pieces of plastic tat.
all washing put away as soon as it's dry (this is a minor miracle)

the rest has just been shuffling stuff into slightly neater piles really and fire-fighting against the best efforts of destructo-girl and the chaos-kid to reduce my home to a pit of rubble.

    back to work tomorrow :(
    :AA/give up smoking (done) :)

Going to invite DD's friends to stay more often. She is busy de-cluttering in her bedroom and so far:
    10 pairs of socks/tights
    5 pants
    5 t-shirts
1 bag of redundant crafting bits
2 curling tongs (she has thick curly hair so who bought her these???)
That takes our total today to 54 items de-cluttered. Feels like a good start to 2013 :D

  • I've done the cupboard under the sink and some stuff in the bedroom but haven't tackled the other kitchen cupboard. I should because it contains a ridiculous amount of marg tubs that I need to get rid of. Tomorrow's task methinks.

    Here's what I decluttered today:

    27: Ten 2litre bottles
    28: Thirteen 500ml bottles
29: Card making stuff that was free with a magazine
    30: A basket
31: A tub of hair gel that had gone all hard
    32: A make up bag
33: All the packaging off my Christmas smellies
    34: A storage tin
    35: A pile of newspapers
    36: A scarf

I found I was getting quite stressed today decluttering the bedroom. Lots of things with emotional attachment. I'm pleased I made it to ten today though, need to keep going and I will be winning the clutter battle.

Found a huge pile of paper, toy packaging, etc in the kids room, so that's in the recycling now. Used up the dregs of a shower gel that had been hanging around for ages. It always seems to be me that uses up the last of everything  There was a spare portion of spag bol tonight so I'll have that tomorrow and everyone else can have fatty curry and naan :( I found a couple of pairs of school trousers which are in great condition. I'm just wondering if it's worth ebaying them or just waiting for a car boot.

I've got a free calendar somewhere in the house which needs to go to work tomorrow, so that'll be another thing gone :T Also emptied a bottle cider (down the sink not my neck ;)) as I opened it a few weeks ago and didn't like it but never got rid of it as I thought DH would drink it, but he didn't, so it went. Bottle in recycling.
