Well, I had good intentions today, but I didn't get out of bed until 12pm!!! :o I did put a wash on, tumble dried it and now it's waiting to go back on my bed, other bits were put away straight away ~ a first for me!! :p

I've sorted out the recycling ready for Thursday and got rid of a couple of christmas card boxes.

Not too happy with my progress today and I'm back to work tomorrow. On a positive note I have managed to stick to my diet today

Come the weekend I'll take down the xmas decs and sort through the ones I really want to keep.

I didn't get to 100 last year but I am determined this time to have another crack at it :) I need to. I might be emigrating soon  and I can't take it with me...

So... I have taken three bags of clothes to the clothes bank, taken two dead routers, a dead mobile phone, a string of fairy lights and two other small electrics to the pink recycling bank (it's great we have one of these nearbby now because we don't drive, so getting rid of electrical waste has always been a pain). A bag of dead batteries to the battery bin a work. All recycling out. Brown bin filled with garden waste and out the front.

I listed 18 items on ebay yesterday (everything from a spare academic gown, to strategy board games, some buttons, an Olympic pin badge, odd bits of clothes). I have a pile of the same size again to list soon - a pair of DM's, a pair of Hobbs boots (not for my fat calves, as I found out :rotfl::rotfl:) some white shirts from the "overally optamistic" part of the wardrobe, a kitchen device like a sandwich toaster that makes pies (I have a strict one-in-one-out kitchen gadget thing going on because otherwise people would walk past and think "Oh, I didn't realise there was a Lakeland in Oxford".

Other odd bits to go as well, mainly more games - at last count we had over 50 strategy board games, but we only play a few regularly. Some haven't even been opened. I have a set of heavy martini glasses to ditch and some cake stands - but one is Portmerion china and the other glass so I'm worried about posting them.

The Floordrobe is dead. Long live coat hangers.

Then I went into Paperchase yesterday. Forgive me. I have a notepad fail to report. And I bought an ice-cream maker.
    Ssshhh...but DH is decluttering. Seriously.

How did you do that?!!? How!?!!? :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

OH is away currently (due back from the outlaws tomorrow) I just know he's going bring back piles of carp. I have told him that if he imports any chemicals, any out-of date food or any more towels then my first renovation job of the new year will be to brick him into the cavity wall. Seriously - I'm just so glad he's flying easyjet so at least there will be a "carp limit" as he's just got hand luggage. The year he flew back with Lufthansa and a tardis-o-carp suitcase I nearly had a meltdown.

Mind you, he did throw out some old reciepts before he went (well burnt them on the open fire - give a man fire and he'll declutter). From 2002. *facepalm*

Good luck on fighting the tide of carp everyone. It can take my space, but it will never break my spirit. :rotfl::rotfl:

    Evening all :)

:o Targeted the room of doom soon to be hobby room. Cleared a big bag of paperwork, now burnt in our fire. Also sorted a bag of stuff for charity including lots of books, sewing materials, buttons. So can now see the floor of this room and walk in!

Need to target specific areas so we clear/finish rooms so I can fly lady the whole house. I'm setting these targets for January:

    - declutter 500 items, about 16 things a day
    - clear Hobby room floor and desk

Off to count the items in the cs bag and update my sig :j
:) Declutter 300 things in December challenge, 9/300. Clear the living room. Re-organize storage

Just one out today - a potty to a friend who is starting potty training her son. Some more outs but these are all items being returned to friends that we borrowed for dinner party so not counting these.

well done everyone. Such a good feeling to get decluttering.

I am nearly half way through my 300 items in jan however I have the big problem areas to go.... DD1s bedroom, under the stairs and the paperwork. I have the loft and garage but they won't be January. These are the places that lots of the decluttered stuff gets put so I need to do these last!

I am finding I am persuading the kids to do any craft sets they have so I can declutter the boxes and packaging to the recycling men :)

Thanks all for the motivation, I have now decluttered the wall cupboards in the room that was our old kitchen (now occasional bedroom/junk room/kitchen overspill.)

I collected one (under counter) bin load plus one carrier bag full of paper for recycling (hope they come tomorrow!)

I found... 2 tins of curry sauce and a very out of date jar of banoffee spread I never knew we had (DH had hidden it and forgotten about it :rotfl: )

I also found some winding up of company paperwork that should have been sent off months ago
