    Hi all

slow progress here but at least it is progress.

I got hubbie to hang to mirrors yesterday we bought a few weeks ago - both needed holes drilling and that is his remit.

I also carried on with the study/littlest bedroom and cleared some stuff from there. Some of it has gone in the loft so I have had to wait for hubbie to put that up there. Most of that is coursework from my college work. I have the textbooks in my office at work but I need to keep the paperwork until I have finished the course.

I took the hard drives out of two computers and converted them into external hard drives. The rest of the computers are out by the bins until I work out where to get rid of them ( I think there is an electrical recycling point near here somewhere so I will check that out).

Managed to also put up a notice board and a funny mirror (it says: So much to do - so few people to do it for me....) in the study - been looking at them for a couple of years so about time.

Overall that room is starting to look really different - I have taken before pictures and in a couple of weeks I will be able to take after photos!

I hope you are all well - I read the posts every day but I only normally post once a week - I will try and post more often :)

I've been working on the photographs as well, and it's slow going. I've gone through and sorted into date order all the photos from my parents and the photos we have taken as a couple over the last 30 years. They are all back in the loft in their new storage boxes.

Everything we are keeping has gone into new boxes, so I can easily see what still needs to be done i.e. old dusty cardboard boxes!

I've managed to throw away a few black and white blurry views. There's a few old photos of people from my parents youth know I don't know - I've put them on eBay as a lot.

But most have gone back in the loft. But at least they are neat now.

    That is so true.

I've now got photos from my in laws to be sorted, the new boxes that they'll be stored in, a load of photographic slides to be scanned on to the computer, various boxes of slide projectors and assossories to get ebayed, lots of other things to eBay AND things from my friend to to eBay to help her de-cluttering. All this stuff is generally hanging around!

The end result will be good, but I think it gets worse before it gets better!
Can I ask why you ebayed them, is there a market for random photos?

  • Hello everyone

Been plodding on for the last week or so.

The room of stuff is now sorted, some boxes went straight into the recycling bin, loads of books and some other bits for CS now in garage waiting to be taken.

Room is now organised with stuff waiting to be listed & sold, paperwork to be sorted and shredded (three bags already waiting to be shredded) and rest will have proper space once that has all gone.

Living room now clear of clutter (was mostly box/folders of paperwork) and put into space in the room of stuff ready for sorting.

Have gone through and reorganised some of the kitchen cupboards so things easier to see and reach. Just need to organise the herb & spice jars, they are in a cupboard and I'll have to see if I can get an extra half depth shelf in it as they would then stack and be able to see them better (can't be doing with racks on doors or the wall, have tried them and sounds daft but I really didn't like them).

Rest of house is pretty much OK and on to a general maintain level now.

Kids unwilling to part of any of the older toys at the moment (even with incentives) so will have to leave that for a while.

Not too bad really just need to keep going a bit at a time.

I'm a firm believer that almost anything can be sold on eBay, so before I throw anything out I check eBay first to see if people will buy it, and often the answer is yes.

There is quite a market for vintage old photos. The ones I sold were nice photos of people from the 1940's and early 1950's. I think buyers like looking at the fashions, and also curiosity about peoples lives back then, as it's all social history.

Just to add to the list of things out over the last 10 days or so, things have slowed down, but I'm still plodding on.
