    Happy Easter everyone

yesterday I had a second declutter of the loft. It is surprising all the things gone up there that you could be using.
Tossed some broken plastic storage boxes. Cs = 4 videos, we have moved on to DVD.

Gave most of my Easy cooking mags away by request last night. " Can I have these?" about 5 so said yes. I have about 4 older ones left.
I have made a big effort not to buy more magazines as they only end up in the bin later. I have tried giving piles away but find it is all one way and no one offers me theres in return.

I have quite a collection of geraniums in my conservatory. 4 are red and several years old. the rest are last years bedding plants. Most made it through the winter. Tossed about 6 that are dead. I took off the dead leaves from the small plants to tidy and gave them some water. We should have a rainbow of colours this year:)

Just going to put the washing machine on and then online. The washing is drying well in the garden, just an airing when I bring it in 3/4pm.
The secret to success is making very small, yet constant changes.:)
  • Morning everyone

Just been catching up, lots of good work going on.

    Pretty good week for me:

Loads of washing/drying (still having to use the dryer as there's not been any dry outside)

Junk mail in the rc as it comes in

Sorted and cleared kitchen worktops (again!)

Listed some items for sale (and sold a few)

Hall cupboard tidied - sorted the craft box stuff and binned/recycled the pots/boxes etc we have excess of or can easily replenish, tidied rest of the shelves so can now find things!

Medicine/first aid cupboard sorted. All out of date medicines bagged ready to go to chemists for safe disposal.

Basic clean round the house, willl try to start a full spring clean when the kids are back to nursery.

This week will be getting the kids to sort through their toys so we can get rid of the things that are no longer played with/wanted and reuse the boxes for the toys/colouring books etc they now use.

Happy decluttering of the Easter chocolate!

I am going to be brave and open the dreaded kitchen cupboards.... I swear if I went back far enough in them, I would end up in Narnia. I am going to be ruthless and throw out/donate/sell what I havent used and then maybe I will stop moaning that I dont have any space!!! Right wish me luck.

Well, I've done it. Finally got in the spare room. Half of the stuff in there has been taken to car boot sales several times and not sold. I've only chucked a couple of things, the rest has gone into carrier bags to tale to the CS when it opens after Easter. Still got a way to go to get it sorted but should hopefully be finished today.

I also found a drawer full of cables. does anyone know if charity shops (particularly those who only sell electrical goods and furniture) would take them? Or would I be better off recycling them as electrical waste?

Right, time for a cup of tea before I get back to it.

  • Afternoon.

Not posted on this one for a few days. Got a few things done over the past 3-4 days.

Few loads of washing done. Dried, ironed & put away in relevant places.
    1 amazon sale (dvd) posted
Very large pile of paper shredded
Junk mail/cans/tins/plastic/glass put into recycling bin (usually done on a daily basis)
3 plastic garden pots recently bought from garden centre. Now moved from green house & now in front garden earlier on today.
Some more clothes/shoes/handbags added to the CS pile.
    Old day/back pack binned.
Small notice board that I usually pin stuff to - finally put on wall in kitchen (after about a year just leaning against the wall) :)
    Some garden bushes pruned back

And Happy Easter to everyone as well :D

I tend to think electric waste, but if anyone has any ideas, I'd be interested too, as I have a carrier bag of cables that I'm wondering what to do with !

Here's my summary of the weeks activities

    203 Jigsaw – eBay
204 Old bulbs and electric light fittings – tip
    205 Exercise equipment – tip
206 Old riding hat – tip
207 Punctured beach ball – bin
    208 Old paint – tip
209 Old photograph mountings – bin
210 Assorted large cardboard boxes – recycling
211 Old satellite receiver – electrical recycling
212 1940’s photograph of Conrad Veidt – eBay

I only had one thing ending on eBay this weekend, which was the photograph. Someone had asked me to re-list as he'd missed the end of the auction. I'll be able to pop it in the post on Tuesday. I didn't want to queue in the post office as it would be too busy on Tuesday, so that's why I've had the week off eBay.

I've done some listing this weekend, but not as much as I wanted to. We have friends visiting next Sunday, so I didn't want to have too much packing next weekend.

What with the stuff I've got down from my loft and the things I'm doing for my friend, I've got a lot of stuff to eBay, so I feel a bit frustrated that I'm not getting on with it. It's taking up room in a de-cluttered cupboard, so I feel as if I've taken a step backwards

However, I have a week off work in April, May and June so I do have extra eBay time coming up, so I can shift it all then (hopefully) I've just got to be patient !

  • Well.. have been sneaking in for a catch up as & when I could in the last week or so as I am now living just with DS1 & 2 and the cats as 'Mr G' has moved out (at my request) we are going to try to repair things but it's going to take some time & we need to be apart in order to do that...

Decluttering wise I've done more than I thought due to clearing out some of hubby's things and sadly lots of logs & coal decluttered onto the fire thanks to this very chilly weather!!

Well done to everyone's continued efforts on here & thank you so much for your support during this stressful time, dispite not knowing any of you personally you've made a difficult situation (that's hard to discuss with others due to locality) much easier to bare. :o

Here is to Spring, sunnier days and new starts! :T x

I'm sure you know already but the parcel prices for Royal Mail change on Tuesday. The maximum depth of a small parcel is 8cm! Not very deep, the next size up is the medium which will cost £5.20 - £6.30  Letters and large letters will remain the same price.

This is the link to the new prices. The UK ones are on page 2. I've put off listing this weekend so that I can try to make head and tail of it. I'm thinking of sending parcels through Collect+. Apologies if you already knew this. :)

This is my excuse as to why I haven't decluttered much :p. I'm off for a whole week :j and the plan is to sort, declutter and clean. We've been looking at houses and I need to seriously declutter before we even think about moving. Who wants to pay £500 to remove junk from one place to another?!!
