Decluttering 2013, the saga continues ...

Afternoon All
Spent an hour or so today continuing my kitchen spring clean, cleaned the second window, windowsill and blind and second light fitting, dust was significant. Also had a second declutter of cupboards, some surplus wine glasses taken to CS. I am going to sort tea for DS and DD in a minute, while I'm doing it, will continue cleaning top of kitchen cupboards. Also decluttered a couple of old lunchboxes, a too small apron and an ice-lolly maker that leaks and I improved organisation of food cupboards. I am aiming for streamlining like I've achieved with the bathroom, although paperwork seems to breed in kitchen, so will always be more of a challenge to keep it tidy.
Right, off to get on with it. Guineapigsqueaks x
PS. I am avoiding my ironing basket which is nearly full again.

Been a bit rubbish at the decluttering thing this week. Used a few of the samples I found at the weekend but other than that nothing has gone out the door.
I do have some real motivation now though. Had my mortgage offer issued today (albeit verbally). :j:j It puts the pressure on a bit more to start seriously decluttering.
No work until Tuesday so I plan to use the weekend wisely and really knuckle down and get stuff sorted.Starting mortgage balance 22/04/2013 £71,250

Aiming for 20 items tomor hav a box of books to sort! Was hoping to get a wooden floor in my bedroom soon as carpet is just awful but need to declutter under the bed first .... Tempted to just chuck everything! Decluttering has made me see I really don't get attached to stuff... Used to be v sentimental wud keep train tickets from nice days out these days I don't even keep b day cards! No more toys til Xmas 2022 , mfw 2023 challenge , Trying to not waste food , time or money and appreciate the moment more!0

Morning everyone,
Right, the Easter holiday has finally started and it is time to declutter!
If I start to spring clean then maybe Spring will arrive.
Hope to report back later, have a lovely day everyone.:)0 -
Hey guys, I'm a bit late to this thread but I guess Spring is a brilliant time to start decluttering and cleaning. My house is a tip and I feel embarrassed to have anyone round. SO I'm going to update this thread every day and look for ideas, inspiration and list what I myself have done.Emergency savings: £0 saved / £4000 target0

 Good Morning everybody - apologies to you all for being m-i-a over the past couple of weeks. I've had almost a week away with dsis and dmum, so no major decluttering has been done
.
Yesterday evening, at long last, my 'spare single bed' has been moved from my entrance porch to DD's house :j - so this weekend will see a 'shufty' being done with c/freezer and t/d. Looking forward to having room in the landing cupboard for some of the other boxes of carp that are still spoiling the appearance of the bedrooms.
I've got a shift in the CS at lunchtime - giving away free coffee and hot cross buns to regular customers/church congregation who're having a short open-air service in the shopping centre today.
Good Luck to everybody with your clearing/decluttering/spring cleaning today - speak later - luv Lilyplonk xxx0 -
Hello everybody, I havent been on here forma while......I think Feb half term.
So another schoolmholiday means a major declutter for me, I only do the minimum, so really enjoy the holidays it feels so good to have a sort out and start back at work knowing the house is a little bit more decluttered, even if it doesnt last long!!!
I am sitting down with a cuppa writting my list, a very long list of he decluttering snd spring cleanig that needs to be done......I will be back soon :-)0 -
Got myself a bit more organised this morning. Written a list of what needs to be done in each room so I can tick it off as I go. Hopefully it'll enable me to see some progress.
So far today I've shredded a carrier bag full of old paperwork and cleared the mess off the sofas. The covers really need a wash but they'll have to wait until someone has been to view the flat tomorrow. They won't be dry in time for then.
Going out in 3 hours so don't know who much else I'll get done today. Will probably just do the dishes, clean the benches, cooker and microwave.Starting mortgage balance 22/04/2013 £71,250

The other thing I have to decide about are the Enid Blyton books under my bed. They have never been out of the box in 10 years. Is there any point in keeping them??
Off to browse online and find some cheap storage boxes that are the right size.
Check on Ebay or Amazon 2nd hand dept to see if there`s a markewt for the Enid Blyton- depends on the condition and vintage. HTH0 -
had a really satisfying blitz in the lounge yesterday, culled about 60 magazines
been through a huge bag and folder of governors paperwork and had a serious shredding session
decluttered a bathbomb last night -because i thought i deserved a bit of pamper time.
nipped in the attic to look for something and brought down a load of old boxes that have gone in the recycling.
im getting to the stage now where im actively looking for things to cull and declutter, the more i do the more i want to do.SPC~12 ot 124
