:wave:maddiemay,welcome to this inspiring thread.
This weeekend I have been preparing for our holiday over Easter. I have put together a selection of sample sachets to bring with me and done all washing and ironing.
Used up loads of ingriedients in the fridge when we made Goulash soup in the slow cooker last night and had for dinner today.
A bag of Easter eggs will leave this house on Wednesday together with 4 birthday presents.
In April I am planning to start sorting out the utility room.
Happy decluttering for this week coming. No toiletries challenge, started 18/1/2010 - Putting £1 in my savings jar for every item that I use up. Pot 1 to 4 = £261. Pot 5=£23

[*]contact Housing Association to find out when I can expect the contractors to sort out my garden - it's STILL completely inaccessible due to bramble bushes and Heaven alone knows what else. I'm convinced that we'll find Lord Lucan riding Shergar in there somewhere

Morning all - I am now in a bad mood after such a good start to the day.
Over a year ago we lent our almost new Vax carpet washer to family. Today, I decide to wash my stair carpet. It took ages to get my washer back as the borrowers did not want to part with it.Guess what? Plugged it in and no power, nothing, dead. Not happy.
Decluttering = vacuum around the home, even had the cushions off the sofa. Emptied all house hold bins. Cleaned out coal fire grate.
Done the family wash and hung up to dry.
Crafting = knitting some fancy squares.
Glass jars all piling up outside. Wile I wait for Oh who has a car to take them to the glass bank. I do not put them out for collection as we live on a busy road and are worried they will be thrown and smashed by people walking by.
To do list = look at what food we have for the week and meal plan.
Had argument with OH last week. He wants us to spend £50 per week on the food and toiletries per week. That includes £20 of junk/fast food for our adult son.
I said if we cut out buying any meat or the £5 block of cheese OH likes I will try again to spend less. We already buy lots of whoopsies and shops own brands.
I know! I keep saying, put a smile on my face there are plenty worse off
Just going to read the meters to see how much we have spent in fuel this last week. I wish the spring heat would hurry up and arive.
Well, read the meters and submited + last weeks fuel bill £23.29.The secret to success is making very small, yet constant changes.:)0 -
Afternoon all
I have one room in the house now which is completely decluttered and stream-lined, the bathroom. I have limited toiletries out on display in there and everything in the cabinets is in use, with just one of everything that is needed for me, DS and DD. One set of towels is in there. I have storage on the landing where I store a spare of each toiletry item and one packet of 18 loo rolls, I will store no more than this. I have one spare set of towels/mats in my linen store. This is where I want to get to with every other room in the house, although I accept DS and DD's rooms will always have a bit more clutter, children's rooms should have stuff in them.
Today, I have had a quick dash around with a carrier bag and thrown away some of the everyday rubbish that appears here and there. Also started again on paperwork pile in kitchen and filed or thrown some bits. Going to do some more in a minute.
Did my car insurance and breakdown cover yesterday, £100 cheaper than renewal quote. I am streamlining my finances too. Thanks:money:.
The wind is so cold here, it makes your ears and hands hurt if they're not covered. Love to all, especially anyone with power cuts or snowed in x

If the CS don't want them and you have time, try eBay. There is a market for empty jewellery boxes !Early retired - 18th December 2014
