    Morning All

Washing mashine died on Saturday so spent 2 hours trawling on the 'puter. Decided to push the boat out & get a new TD at the same time as old one 28 years old - very MS (old one gone this morning on Freecycle) So cleaned behind - good job I'm not scared of spiders - haha! AND washed all the kitchen floor too - picture smug me on hands & knees 'cos I like to do the moulded skirtings at the same time. Hmm I mean the skirtings are shaped not mouldy :rotfl:
Snowing here so I'll stay in & start sorting wardrobe as I have so much stuff left from working that can be re-vamped. Managed to CS a dress still with tags on. A suit and 2 dresses to my lovely lady who alters. Off to tackle bottom of wardrobe again - I did do it a little while ago but I've had a re-think of how it will work better for me. Might be able to get rid of a few more things too :)
Small victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle
  • Morning everyone

As last week was rather poor I thought perhaps posting a list of areas which I would like to sort and clear this week might help.

    1. Take photos of items ready to be listed
    2. List them!
    3. Take the items already bagged to the CS
    4. Go through and tidy wardrobes and chests of drawers, get rid of the kids clothes which are too small, check our stuff and dispose of any no longer worn/needed.
    5. Clear kitchen worktops (again!)

I think that's enough aims for this week given I still feel the same as last week, but we shall see.

    Happy sorting everyone, keep warm.

Hello  everybody - I feel as though I've been missing in action for a while. I have been around and reading your posts, but not feeling 100%, hence not a great deal of posting from me.

Well done on all your good work - you've certainly been busy bees. It's good to see that they weather is getting brighter and the evenings slightly longer. Couldn't believe how light it was getting at 6.00am this morning :j. I know that will go backwards when we put the clocks forward at the end of the month, but the evenings will be so much brighter at the same time.

I've been trying to think through things that still need sorting/clearing to create some semblance of 'order' in my world of chaos right now .................

    Living Room
    • [STRIKE]keep on top of coffee table and book case 'hot spots'
    • make sure that all rechargers go back to 'their designated home'
    • keep my desk area uncluttered - find mesh paper basket for under desk. It's definitely in a box - somewhere!
    • [/STRIKE]
On top of all these now!

    Kitchen
    • [STRIKE]clear worktops and try to keep them that way[/STRIKE] - some cleared off! Kitchen is so tiny that it's very difficult due to lack of cupboards.
    • [STRIKE]use the new storage containers and store empty ones in box ontop of F/F[/STRIKE] - done!
    • get new hanging rail/hooks put up for utensils to hang up instead of cluttering worktop in container that falls over
    • source two kitchen wall units and 'speak nicely' to DS2!!!!!
    • source 'inside door spice rack' and get fixed up.
    Bathroom
    • source Bathroom Cabinet and get put up
    • get hangng rail put up above radiator
    Bedroom 1
    • [STRIKE]Blitz boxes that are still hanging around in there and CS/recycle wherever possible[/STRIKE] - most of these done!
    • assemble new bookcase and put into corner of bedroom - empty final box of books!
    • [STRIKE]collect up any 'stray CD's/DVD's from bedroom and put into correct storage boxes.[/STRIKE] - done!
    • [STRIKE]go through all holdalls/suitcases etc and dump any that are 'past their best' - we've got way too many.[/STRIKE] - dumped two scabby holdalls - managed to put smaller ones inside bigger ones to save on space.
    • [STRIKE]release the drawers in the new bed and get all bedding put away properly - that was the whole point of buying a 4-drawer bed!!!!!![/STRIKE] - done!
    Bedroom 2
    • [STRIKE]blitz final boxes still in there till only plastic crates are left[/STRIKE] - only two cardboard boxes left now!
    • [STRIKE]sort through all single/double duvets, PLUS covers and send to DD or cs them[/STRIKE] - done!
    • [STRIKE]make sure that books stay on bookshelves / grandkids stuff stays in storage drawers / collect up any more loose CD's/DVD's[/STRIKE] - done but difficult to keep on top of when grandkids are around.
    • get remaining 'christmas stuff' put up into loft-space - may need DS1/2 to help OH with that OR buy a step-ladder
    Entrance Porch
    • get DS1 to finally move single bed/mattress/headboard to DD - URGENT
    • move t/d from landing cupboard back down to the porch - might make the 'ice cave' feel a bit warmer when it's being used in the winter ;)
    • [STRIKE]make sure that outdoor coats go straight onto coathangers/hungup when we come in[/STRIKE] - keeping on top of this!
    • get some kind of shelf put up in porch
    Landing cupboard
    • FIRST get the TD shifted downstairs!!!!!
    • measure up AGAIN for shelves and get them installed
    • move laundry baskets into base of cupboard
    • [STRIKE]empty and sort the final couple of boxes that are still in there. Recycle/CS where possible[/STRIKE] - 2 done but three to go!
    • [STRIKE]go through all the towels and double check which are the best for keeping. Worst ones can go to PDSA hospital and rest can go to DD - kids keep losing towels when they go swimming [/STRIKE] - done!
    Outdoor Lock-up
    • [STRIKE]clear everything out and brush out any bits/debris[/STRIKE] - done and all nice and tidy, but no shelves in there yet!
    • assemble metal shelving and put in place - SECURE to rear wall!
    • sort out a storage crate for small gardening tools
    • put large toolbox onto base shelf of shelving unit to stabilise it
    • get hanging hook system for storing garden spade/rake etc
    Garden
    • contact Housing Association to find out when I can expect the contractors to sort out my garden - it's STILL completely inaccessible due to bramble bushes and Heaven alone knows what else. I'm convinced that we'll find Lord Lucan riding Shergar in there somewhere :)! I'm going to take 'before and after photos' as evidence. - no progress here as Housing are now arguing which dept should be responsible for paying for the contract.
    • remind them that I need proper use of my clothesline and that their tardiness is costing me money as I have to use my t/d
I'll try to keep track of my progress using this list - see if that can give me proper motivation .....

I'm a bit disappointed not to have got more done in the past week - but considering how bad I've been feeling, it's not too bad.

All bugs/germs have almost gone now - still some coughing/spluttering when I've done a lot of activity or talking too much - but far better than I was.

Hope you all had a good Mother's Day - mine was hectic with all kids/grandkids arriving at various times throughout the day. Fortunate that they didn't overlap - but think they deliberately planned it that way to avoid being overcrowded :rotfl:.

sorry this post is so long - I can edit it down next time I update it - speak again later - love Lilyplonk xxx

Had another session with my dressing table drawer and my bedside drawers as well this evening. NOt much thrown out another four pots of stuff not being used.

Few magazines went towards the fire fodder basket tonight as well.

Need to get back up in the loft and have a final push up there but it's blinking freezing so it will have to wait!!

Jobs for today: 2, maybe 3 loads of laundry to do. Bins to empty. Spare room reorganized to see exactly what I have. Mail put into some sort of order. Oh and I have to fit in a visit to my Mam to wish her a happy Mother's day.

Didn't get much of this done. Did 2 loads of laundry, must remove second one from the machine before I have to wash it again.
Bins were emptied and I went to see my Mam.
Did the mail sort today. I've sorted out a folder and divided it into sections and hopefully it'll keep me more organised. Still got quite a lot to go through though.
Didn't even venture into spare room. Maybe tomorrow....
