Morning all
I was up with the larks today @ 5.30am.
I went to sleep around 10pm last night so by 5.30 I had - had 7 & half hours sleep.
This morning I have tidied and moved round what should be called the dining room. More like family room.
Moved furniture and vacuum and washed the laminate floor.
Put x1 bag & 1 recycle bags out in the bins.
Washing done and out on line.
To do list = declutter conservatory AGAIN! if any one does not know whare to put something, it ends up there! The secret to success is making very small, yet constant changes.:)0 -
Hi Everyone I have been lurking in the background reading how well everyone else has been doing but not succeeding myself. I really really do need to declutter. Our study is so full of paperwork. Some needs to be filed some simply needs chucking, but unfortunately i want to go through it piece by piece.
I also have all my son's and daughters books and paintings from playgroup onwards in there. My son is just about to sit his GCSE's
I have newletters from Playgroup and school why am I keeping them. Before I through them out, I often need to write a date down as a diary of memories. Why??? are we actually going to look back and think oh yes. In there are also party invites that my son daughter received - do i need to keep them or even log them in my calender. Who cares? Is anyone going to know ( or care) if I just chuck them out. The trouble is because I look at things and think I need to remember(log it somewhere) it takes such a long time to get rid of anything and it seem such an unsurmountable task.
Help - at the moment I can't ever see the room being useable again. I'm nearly 50 and I can see me still having this room to sort when I'm 90!!!!!

Sorry Guys I've not kept up with the thread in the last few days as it's been very stressful here!
I asked my H to leave last night after another lie and attempt to purchase items he cannot afford (or needs) it's very raw & DS1 & 2 are very upset/mixed up too.
I'd like to think it could be worked out but I have no idea what the heck is going to happen & I'm scared of all the stress/upset to come
So I'll be lurking and keeping my nose in as much as possible but it may not be as much as I'd like!
x Hugs to all who need them x
Oh, if I wanted to change my forum name how would/could I do it? x"There's a little witch in all of us"🔮🪬🧿DEBT FREE 06/2018Mrs SD’s Decluttering 2025 ⭐️ 🥇🥇🥇0 -

sending hugs mrsgibbs,
havent been in this thread before im normally try and control my clutter in the flylady thread but i think i do need more serious decluttering than that so may pop in again if thats ok.
recently
ive been donating loads to the local CS shop and i look forward to the giftaid letters to let me know how much my unwanted stuff has raised for them
gave my mum a surplus lawn mower
took 3 bags of clothes to one of those cash for clothes shops and got £4.90
almost threw two broken stretched gold chains away then remembered a local jeweller had a sign outside saying scrap gold wanted - he gave me £25 for them
local school has been asking for broken/unwanted small electrial items for kids to do product design etc on so they got a cd/radio a small heater and are about to get the broken shredder.
brother got part of a trumpet to cash in for scrap
read books get passed on or donated to a shelf in local drs waiting room
but there is still plenty more to go.

Decluttered several brochures and put junk mail straight into recycle bin. Gave a friend a couple of items of clothing... Made my 10 items target today... Hav a bag waiting for cs hopefully will drop off tomor ... Utility room still pretty cluttered... It's our dumping ground... Trying to sort it slowly getting somewhere. The house is emptying as we use up toiletries and don't replace and as we grow out of clothes and don't replace. Had been desperate to move 6 mths ago but now I can happily stay here we are settled and I'm enjoying the challenge of living with less. Still hav not bought any toys since Xmas! Have bought the kids a few summer clothing items.... All on sale and good quality:) we sticking to p333....for the foreseeable future! No more toys til Xmas 2022 , mfw 2023 challenge , Trying to not waste food , time or money and appreciate the moment more!0
