Evening
Well done to everyone who's managed to do decluttering.
Haven't done much this week.
I have managed to get the pile of clothes that needed ironed done, earlier on tonight.
And some cardboard, paper, cans & plastic has gone into the recycling bin.0 -
I've been busy today. I took 2 large bags of washing back to my dad, then had a sort out in the spare room to make room for the double bed.
In CS box:-
about 6 cassettes
a silver plated video cassette holder
2 bicycle pumps
a CD single
a mousemat
an old camera
a mini shrek radio
a shot glass
a concertina style file case
I needed to transfer the stuff I'd previously sorted into a bigger box, to make room for this lot, so got rid of a big box instead of a smaller one, and put the empty small box into the shed, along with some ebay packaging. CS box is now in the boot of OH's car, ready to be dropped off at shop tomorrow.
Offered about 30 video cassettes on freecycle, got someone picking up our single bed tomorrow afternoon so that is now in the hall, and we will be putting the double bed up tomorrow when OH gets home from work. I'm under strict instructions not to attempt this without him in case I do my back in again, lol!
Tomorrow I may have another go at the 'cupboard of doom', and see if I can make space for some of the boxes in spare room.Weight loss challenge 2/10lbs

Good morning everybody  -
Well done to you all :T - great work going on.
wtg DundeeDoll - knowing where things were 'without leaving the sofa' now THAT is real progress :rotfl:! I usually 'have some kind of idea' but have to 'go hunt it down'.
Quick update on Garden Inspector from yesterday. He tells me that the original Housing Inspector who surveyed my flat thought that area was 'no-man's-land' and that they had to go and consult the details listed with Land Registry to determine the true boundary. Basically the cheeky bgrs didn't believe me ! They've now admitted that they need to 'get their finger out' and sort it once and for all - but 'it's going to be a big job' :j. He's taken a whole pile of photos from my bedroom/kitchen window to prove the point. It's worse than it was when I signed for the property before Christmas because the 'growing season' has started ................. their fault not mine!
If I've not heard from them within 2wks, I need to phone them for an progress report ...........0 -
Morning everyone
I'm sorting through all the baby clothes to photo and list, they're already in age groups between 0 and 18 months but sorting out the best way to list is harder than I expected.
A lot of the early/small baby things have gone in the CS bag because I just can't go through them all. We have loads of things as we have twins.
Perhaps it just because I'm more emotionally attached to these things than I thought.
We don't need them so I need to do it but just wondered if anyone else finds it difficult to let go of these things?
Catch up later.

Aimingforbetter I too find it a bit tough giving up baby stuff... The end of an era! Have donated to a kids orphanage abroad so stuff will be well used! Have kept a few bits for my girls dolls so we will still have a few reminders! My mum did the same for me. Decluttering has kind of come to a halt ... Been slacking I guess only managed to get rid of a coffee maker and half a dozen dinner plates over past few days... Will try to get back to 10 items today! Keep up the good work everyone! No more toys til Xmas 2022 , mfw 2023 challenge , Trying to not waste food , time or money and appreciate the moment more!0

Hiya, it is difficult to get rid of some things more than others.
I have kept a few things from baby days, not much.
I gave all the baby clothes to the scouts jumble sale.
Then I did childminding = have still got some of the larger items. Wooden cot, baby chair and car seats.
I thought they would come in useful for a grandchild, but it has not happened yet.The secret to success is making very small, yet constant changes.:)0 -
Thanks flyingmamma and good advice.
I have kept a few items of clothing, the sorting got to me rather a lot earlier.
I've sold most of the bigger items and was glad to see them go.
The only thing I was sad to see go was the double buggy which I had quite an attachment to, mainly I think because me and the boys could pootle off out and about without any problem and we had our own 'adventures'. Still it's gone to be of use to somebody else now.
I did get the photos done so will crack on with the listings.
Hoping to get more done tomorrow.
Keep up the good work everyone.

Still some minor decluttering going on. An old umbrella that I finally had to give up the ghost on. An accidental declutter of a pestle and mortar (DH broke it but I never used it and had been thinking of getting rid so it still counts). I also decluttered all my desk drawers at work which was a big job!! And I'm still working through old cosmetics! Eyeliner binned this morning and will polish off an old protect and perfect serum tonight.
Good luck everyone!!0
