Its good news that this thread is rubbing off on others and paying dividends - literally as a result.

Today I blitzed the conservatory. In fairness we remove all the cushions out there before winter and put them up in the loft. The conservatory gtes a bit damp in the winter and by leaving just the frames out there it saves our fabrics and cushions so much. Cleaned it all through and put the cushions back on and it looks really nice and clean again. Weather is due to improve so will start getting use out of the conservatory again. I sat out there for an hour reading this afternoon.

    Decluttered today:

    Pair of earrings
    Broken water pistol
Lazytown toy (apparently this is so unfashionable now)

Just read the last few pages of this thread and I'm hoping it can give me the motivation to carry on what I started last weekend.

I'm in the process of buying my first house so I need to have a good clearout before I move. I live in a 3 bedroom flat and have always had 1 [STRIKE]spare[/STRIKE] junk room as I had a flatmate (she moved out at the end of November). In other words I now have 2 [STRIKE]spare[/STRIKE] junk rooms. And I really don't want to fill that second one.

For the past couple of years I've had boxes full of stuff that have been to car boot sales numerous times and not sold. I decided last week that enough is enough, I NEED to get rid of it all.

Last weekend sold loads of stuff on musicmagpie (112 items for£32.87) and webuybooks (22 items for £45.94). Since then I have sold 3 things on ebay with another 2 definitely selling this evening (total so far £3.40).

I gave a large box of books to a hospice charity shop today as well as a load of bric-a-brac (probably another 60-70 items in total).

Hopefully I'll sell the 50 or so items i have listed on ebay and greenmetropolis in the not too distant future.

3 large plastic boxes emptied so far with another 2 to go. That's before I start on the stuff I have in cupboards and drawers.

I will aim to keep update at least weekly on this thread with my progress to keep my motivation going.

    Good evening

I blitzed the bedroom today, it needed a really good clean. I've got rid of a carrier bag of rubbish which doesn't sound like a lot, but the room looks so much better.
It's been a lovely day today, it's made me want to start Spring Cleaning.

    Happy decluttering

Had another quick go at the wardrobe and decluttered:

Heavy dressing gown too big for me. Washed and ready for CS
Lovely Hobbes dress, gonna try this on eBay when I get the courage up
Bras x 3 all too big
Two scarves - gifts I will never wear
Lovely purple boots I have never had anything to wear with :(

Hoping to finally get my new built in wardrobe soon so want to be well dejunked beforehand. Planning another cut today, there are coats I didn't have the nerve to tackle :)

As a quick follow on question, has anyone gone from total eBay virgin to selling things because of this thread? Would love some inspiration! I have got as far as buying a few things just to start a profile - mostly gifts :) before anyone thinks I'm recluttering again! But I'm v nervous about the selling.

    Today's resolution: take the pictures!

    Hi :)

I haven't posted for a few days as children have been off ill. I've been trying to declutter still and had a great decluttering on wednesday - but alas forgot to post and I can't remember what I threw out lol.

    Since then....
    83. 7 glass ramekins. Freegle
    84. Vtech toy. sold on fb.
    85. large Bag of toy bits from the toy box. bin
    86. dd's tracksuit. sold fb
    87. hard drive hubby fixed - back to friend.
    88. 3 bottles condensed in bathroom. recycling.
    89. 3 chipped glasses. recycling
    90. old slow cooker lid. bin (kept just in case....why?!)
    91. 2 plastic cups. recycling.
    92. old plastic cutlery. recycling.
    93. junk mail. recycling.
    94. 2 large bags of recycling. recycle bin.
    95. push down toy. sold fb.
    96. Changing mat. sold fb.

Planning a good clear out today as the weathers fine and OH off work. Will hopefully pop back later with another list ;)

I'm enjoying watching obsessive compulsive cleaners, whilst our house is nowhere that bad, it certainly makes me question why I'm holding onto things to be honest! :o

Had another big set to today:-

Shed has been cleared out this morning :j allot has gone out and all that is in there is current or needed. We have filled the ordinary bin with rubbish and we will now slowly add rubbish to that bin over the coming weeks. We are not doing another tip trip!! So allot of the rubbish is piled up, but it will go.

Loft has had another set to this morning and I am going to phone the BHF and get them to come in and remove allot of old furniture and items that we have put to one side up there. Then just before we move we shall have them in again to get rid of the rest. We have shifted so much stuff up there that we don't want the BHF to charge us as it could be classed as a house clearance!!

Anyway, the de-clutter is going on in earnest and big strides are happening :T
