Now inspired to make my own patchwork bag. Thanks for that!
Lots of stuff on ebay after a mad clear up last week. Finally got a mirror hung that's been hiding in the 'mess' room, along with a shelf and canvas pic.
Ever so glad I joined this thread at the beginning of the year, plodding along clearing as we go.

If you have a sewing machine give patch work a go...
My sewing machine is a singer and 37 years old.
The template for my patches I cut from a cup a soup box.
The secret to success is making very small, yet constant changes.:)
  • Feel great. Did all four items on my list. I did feel guilty for all the toys taken out of my daughters toy boxes but when she enjoyed playing in her room later ( you could actually see the floor) I was delighted. And even at just 4 she said she wants to keep it like that.

[STRIKE]My 4 year olds toys and books
The top of my fridge ( a real breeding ground for my DP's items/tools)
    My cleaning stuff cupboard
The inside of my fridge (lots of jars, dressings from yesteryear)[/STRIKE]

Brilliant. I was going to skive off the toys as it seemed insurmountable but then I thought of how good it would feel to have four strike outs on Sunday night.
    Thank you
I'll come back next Friday with 4 more challenges

A bit more decluttering done today.

3 items sold on ebay taken to the post office.
12 books (unsuitable for sale or cs) gone in recycling
About the same amount of items removed from fridge (out of date - some of them well out)
23 items of old cosmetics and toiletries (past their best) chucked in bin.
Several bottles with a little in taken to bathroom and to be used as a priority so they can go in the bin in the next few days.

If I keep going I'll have nothing left to pack in a couple of months time. :D:cool:
    Starting mortgage balance 22/04/2013 £71,250
    Overpayments to date £410
    Current mortgage balance £70,650
  • Bit more gardening done.....how I managed to get more stuff into the gardening bin, but managed anyhow. But new stuff from Home Bargains put into front garden (3 artificial trees & a Bhudda thing with a solar light).

Underwear drawer sorted & a bag of bras not worn or not right size now binned.

My de-cluttering efforts have been a bit rubbish since I last posted.

I have begun giving the kitchen a bit of a spring clean, done one of the windows and sill on the inside, decluttered blind of dust. Cleaned one corner of worksurface, dusted my radio and cookbooks in that corner. Going to work all around the kitchen from that point this week until it's all had a good clean/declutter. There we go, that's my target, I will do it :).

I am at my best at this time of night (definitely a night owl and not an early bird), so at 10pm I am going to get up off my backside and do 1hr 30mins of jobs, then take 30mins to get ready for bed by midnight.

    Night all, sleep tight x

    Keep Smiling :)

    Evening everybody  -

I've only been popping in/out at intervals over the weekend - but well done to all who've at least had attempts at decluttering :j. You've done better than anything that I've managed in the past couple of days ..................

Apart from regular household rubbish/recycling/food waste, there's not been any 'decluttering' as such done here over the weekend ............ :(. Just concentrating getting rid of unwanted bugs/germs/virus at the moment.

I'm hoping that the worst of this will be over and done with by tomorrow - I'm absolutely sick to death of coughing, spluttering and sneezing everywhere . The 'physical act of coughing' is now giving me a rotten headache and just touching my hair hurts .

I'll be back in again tomorrow morning and hope to post a 'wish list' of jobs to be done this week - see if that helps to keep me on track.

Nightie night for now - love Lilyplonk xxx

I haven't commented on here for a few weeks as I e been so busy with college and work! But I've sold a good few more items on eBay and had a massive wardrobe clearout of 22 items! :O still have drawers and shoes left to do… eBay item to post tomorrow + a few bits to give to family.
My new job is a sales assistant in a clothes concession so clearing out old clothes is good for funding new stylish ones and motivating me for payday (28th march! :O). Exam results this Thursday! :O

Good morning everybody :hello: - pretty dull start to the week around here, hope it brightens up later in the day.

Hope everybody can get off to a good start to the week - spring is just around the corner and the worst of the weather is behind us ..................

Bugs/germs etc are still hanging over me at the moment - I thought the night would never end and felt as though I was 'waiting for permission' to get up for most of it :(. I finally relented and got up around 6.15 as I needed the loo - I'd got to the stage where I didn't dare cough again for fear of having an 'ooops moment' :o. I'm sitting with crossed fingers that DD doesn't 'need me' today - but I'm pretty certain that she does ...............

I've been trying to think through things that still need sorting/clearing to create some semblance of 'order' in my world of chaos right now .................

    Living Room
    • keep on top of coffee table and book case 'hot spots'
    • make sure that all rechargers go back to 'their designated home'
    • keep my desk area uncluttered - find mesh paper basket for under desk. It's definitely in a box - somewhere!
    Kitchen
    • clear worktops and try to keep them that way
    • use the new storage containers and store empty ones in box ontop of F/F
    • get new hanging rail/hooks put up for utensils to hang up instead of cluttering worktop in container that falls over
    • source two kitchen wall units and 'speak nicely' to DS2!!!!!
    • source 'inside door spice rack' and get fixed up.
    Bathroom
    • source Bathroom Cabinet and get put up
    • get hangng rail put up above radiator
    Bedroom 1
    • Blitz boxes that are still hanging around in there and CS/recycle wherever possible
    • assemble new bookcase and put into corner of bedroom - empty final box of books!
    • collect up any 'stray CD's/DVD's from bedroom and put into correct storage boxes.
    • go through all holdalls/suitcases etc and dump any that are 'past their best' - we've got way too many.
    • release the drawers in the new bed and get all bedding put away properly - that was the whole point of buying a 4-drawer bed!!!!!!
    Bedroom 2
    • blitz final boxes still in there till only plastic crates are left
    • sort through all single/double duvets, PLUS covers and send to DD or cs them
    • make sure that books stay on bookshelves / grandkids stuff stays in storage drawers / collect up any more loose CD's/DVD's
    • get remaining 'christmas stuff' put up into loft-space - may need DS1/2 to help OH with that OR buy a step-ladder
    Entrance Porch
    • get DS1 to finally move single bed/mattress/headboard to DD - URGENT
    • move t/d from landing cupboard back down to the porch - might make the 'ice cave' feel a bit warmer when it's being used in the winter ;)
    • make sure that outdoor coats go straight onto coathangers/hungup when we come in
    • get some kind of shelf put up in porch
    Landing cupboard
    • FIRST get the TD shifted downstairs!!!!!
    • measure up AGAIN for shelves and get them installed
    • move laundry baskets into base of cupboard
    • empty and sort the final couple of boxes that are still in there. Recycle/CS where possible
    • go through all the towels and double check which are the best for keeping. Worst ones can go to PDSA hospital and rest can go to DD - kids keep losing towels when they go swimming
    Outdoor Lock-up
    • clear everything out and brush out any bits/debris
    • assemble metal shelving and put in place - SECURE to rear wall!
    • sort out a storage crate for small gardening tools
    • put large toolbox onto base shelf of shelving unit to stabilise it
    • get hanging hook system for storing garden spade/rake etc
    Garden
    • contact Housing Association to find out when I can expect the contractors to sort out my garden - it's STILL completely inaccessible due to bramble bushes and Heaven alone knows what else. I'm convinced that we'll find Lord Lucan riding Shergar in there somewhere :)! I'm going to take 'before and after photos' as evidence.
    • remind them that I need proper use of my clothesline and that their tardiness is costing me money as I have to use my t/d
I'll try to keep track of my progress using this list - see if that can give me proper motivation .....................

Have a good day, everybody - love Lilyplonk xxx

Lilypink that is some list! So sad that you are still unwell. Those germs get everywhere! Open the windows.

I feel more sleep and a radox bath will help. Just rest. The decluttering can wait a bit longer.
    Wishing you a fast recovery.

    Morning everyone.
Today so far. Reboot washing machine and made a que of laundry baskets. Seems a lot of washing today! I wash every day...
3rd load in machine. DD has had a tidy of clothes in here room and sons holiday clothes from last week :( Nice day so all going on line.

Walked around house and collected dirty dishes...lazy lot! It would help greatly if every one took more pride. Washed dishes. These were from after dinner wash up was done and this morning.

This morning my plans are to do some cleaning. Dance with Dyson, mop floors - that inconsiderate dog should ware wellington boots to go out in the garden. Clean bathroom.

I have made a shopping list for the supermarket. I am quite good at getting what is just on the list, plus whoopsies.
= Just got back. I went to Asda. Headed straight for the home and cleaning isles first :0. Toilet rolls, & 4 free cushelle with voucher. Stardrops. Pack of new pegs for line. Silver dip to clean my chains with.
Then did the food shopping :).

Posting the empty ink cartridges back to Ink Express. I buy refilled ink cartridges from them at a good price.

    Decluttered my emails and junkbox.

Grotty job = clean out the deep fat fryer. :) job done"plenty of soapy hot water, scrub, soak and scrub again!
Then shined my sink with the limescale remover spray.

Right, better move of the computer now my days plans are made so far...
