Resisted temptation to buy a bag all thanks to this forum ... I said to myself 'Why add to the clutter ?'

go and swap them over.[/STRIKE] 2 loads done - now drying and final load about to go in! ALL FINALLY DONE!
    • [STRIKE]Clear off my PC desk - it's acquiring too much 'unnecessary bumf'.[/STRIKE] DONE! Housing/Rent Ben Letters into filing box and rubbish into recycling.
    • [STRIKE]Straighten off the cushions/throws on the sofas in the living room and sort out
the coffee table.[/STRIKE] DONE! Looks much better :j
    • [STRIKE]Put recycling outside when I leave the house later.[/STRIKE] DONE - all in appropriate bins!
    • [STRIKE]Do breakfast dishes.[/STRIKE] DONE - and worktops straightened/wiped down/dishes all put away.
    • [STRIKE]Make the bed and straighten the tops of bedside cabinets.[/STRIKE] DONE - jewellery put away in correct PLUS found the alarm clock that had fallen down the back of the headboard :j!
    • Put a parcel by the front door for catalogue delivery guy to take back later. NOT DONE - the delivery guy never turned up to collect :(
off now to make a start .....................

I'll pop back again later, to see how everybody is doing. Keep up the good work :j - love Lilyplonk xxx

    also added:
    • [STRIKE]rechargers / cables / plugs all put into container that we've set aside for such
things.[/STRIKE] May help to stop them from 'wandering' all over the flat :o.

Edited to update planned jobs ............

Also to add that I've had a trip to Ikea and bought:
    • some new DVD/CD Storage Boxes - will help to keeps things tidier.
    • Bag Clips - the Ikea ones are great for sealing bags in freezer.
    • Galvanised metal shelving unit for outdoor lock-up - this will make keeping it tidy/organised much easier :).
    • Plastic Storage Containers with lids - want to get rid of heavy/bulky glass storage jars on counter top.
    • 2 new 4-point extension leads - we don't have many sockets in this flat.
    • New bookcase - the one that I really wanted is no longer being made, so had to go up a price-bracket :(.
    • some Vanilla perfumed tea-lights / some plain tea-lights.
Today's been another long day - spent this afternoon [STRIKE]kiddie-squashing[/STRIKE] child-sitting again while DD took dgs1 to the dentist. It's not good news for him - he needs an operation via the roof of his mouth to correct defective growth in his adult teeth. He's 11 with ADHD/ASD and already has a false tooth on a plate that he keeps breaking ................. so you can tell that his visits to the dentist aren't often successful.

I'm going off to bed to see if I can finish Northanger Abbey - just glad to see the back of the day ................. love Lilyplonk xxx

    Morning fellow declutter.
27th February today and nearly March.
March 20th spring begins. By then with all our forward planning and decluttering we will be well into spring cleaning.

Last night I thought I would watch TV in the bedroom. This decluttering is addictive. Drawer on my bed and threw out a few items. (smalls).
Then used one of my new lilac bags(made yesterday from an old cotton shirt) to hold all my socks. About 7 pairs.
Keeping the socks together will save time rummaging threw drawer. I can now chose the colour I want.

I found a chunky bracelet with pink rose's on. I have now put in round the candle on my dining room table. Looks very posh!

In the bin went an old navy hoody. Looked worn with bobling .
A pink stained t.shirt went as well.

Today, I have rebooted the washing machine so far to declutter the laundry hamper. Looks wet outside so I might have to put on the clothes horse's. The tumble dryer is about 50p per load to run so I rarely use it. The poor thing just sits in the corner and is a great table to sit the microwave on.

Just going to wash my hair = using up one of the shampoo/conditioner sachets I have. Collected as freebies. No need to keep them, I prefer the bottles anyway.

The washing did go on the line. Small breeze so blowing away.

Took 2 bags to CS. PDSA for pets.
Wile I was in the shop I saw/heard a lady haddling for quite a wile over getting a reduction for 2 paintings in nice frames.
The reasons were many - not sure if she liked the frames, did not want to buy one as they should be sold together. Offered less money as that was all she had in her purse. The list goes on....
I heard the sales people say she had gone to the bank to get more money out.

Decluttered the box my freebie came in - 6ml eau de lacoste perfum.
    Junk mail too.
The secret to success is making very small, yet constant changes.:)

Good morning all  - beautiful day here today, but still very cold brrrr.

    Jobs for today:
    • [STRIKE]Transfer contents of storage containers into new plastic ones.[/STRIKE] - DONE!
    • [STRIKE]Thoroughly wash and dry old ones and put ready for CS tomorrow.[/STRIKE] - DONE!
    • [STRIKE]Finish drying yesterdays laundry and put fresh load of 'darks' in.[/STRIKE] - DONE!
    • [STRIKE]Assemble storage boxes bought last night for tidying up DVDs/CDs[/STRIKE] - DONE!
    • Assemble new bookshelf unit - this will have to wait until this evening to do with OH.
    • Assemble new metal shelving unit for outdoor lockup - again will have to wait until this evening. Looking forward to getting to getting this space properly organised with boxes on shelves and tools hanging on walls neatly! Also considering a couple of those 'touch on/off LED Lights' for inside as there's no outside lighting at the side of the house.
    • Make sure that all recycling is put in appropriate bins on my way out.
    • [STRIKE]Straighten bed/open blinds/windows.[/STRIKE] DONE! - OH is full of a germs/bugs at the moment, so we need all the fresh air we can get in the bedroom.
I'm off to the GP to hand in a prescription request form, then to DD's for yet another spot of [STRIKE]kiddie-squashing[/STRIKE] (child-sitting). She needs to take dgd1 (age 15 in July) to school this evening - something to do with making choices for College Preferences for next year .......................... wow, my dgd1 is considering colleges/courses. I suddenly feel quite old :(,

Hope you all have a good day of decluttering and/or re-organising. I'll pop in again later in the day to read about all your progress - love Lilyplonk xxx.

Wonder how little Freya, Flyingmamma and the rest of the family are settling down - what a fabulous time for them all :j.

I've been a busy bee the last couple of days with work, but at home today so time for some clearing up and decluttering.

    So far ...

-been to the shops for new iron (old one to tip pile in garage)
-bought new dustpan and brush (old one to be kept in garage for mucky jobs)
-bought kids new socks and pants using Christmas giftcards
-dropped off four bags to CS

I'm collecting DS from pre-school in an hour but before that I'm going to

    -wash up
    -empty DW
-empty washing machine and put another load on
-tidy and wipe down kitchen sides
-quick tidy and hoover through downstairs
-pull out ebay bits and parcel ready to send out tomorrow (12 more items sold over 7 parcels :j)

Job for this afternoon is to sort through everything that's still left in the conservatory -only 5 days until the builders demolish it

    Managed all that plus

    -emptied kitchen bin
    -put recycling out
-put DW on a hot empty with some HM lemon cleaner as it was getting a bit yucky

Took new iron out of it's box but I've found that it's really top heavy, resulting in it toppling over really easily on the ironing board. Not really what you want with little kiddies around so I will take that back to the shop and swap it over for an alternative one.

Amazingly DH has started clearing out 25 yrs of work related files and has taken at least 10 bags of shredded paper to the tip ( after filling the recycling bin here).
