I've got rid of a few things in the past few days. I had 8 bottles of bubble bath, hand wash and shower gel, with only a bit in each, so I put all the bits in one bottle and put the other 7 bottles in recycling. I've emptied and recycled 2 bottles of cooking oil, which were about a year out of date, took 2 cleaning cloths and a spray bottle of oven cleaner to my dad's, binned 5 old lipsticks (at least 1 of which dates back to the late 70's
), filled a bird feeder with nuts and put it on the tree (it had been in the kitchen for about a week, after bringing it back from MIL's partner's house), and put an old eyeshadow set in CS box.

Bunged some items on FB the other day, 1 was collected yesterday, 1 was collected today and 2 more going tomorrow, another £12 made!
Have 23 listings live on ebay at the moment, just keeping on chipping away. I WILL get rid of the selling pile before the end of March! Must admit though I did go through it yesterday and whittle it down a bit so the CS is going to benefit from another large sack of goodies! This is a system account and does not represent a real person. I get paid every four weeks, so mine ends up at varying dates throughout the month.0

Today, I am going to have another declutter in the bedroom.:)
Behind the door is at least 6 shopping bags that I do not use. I do not like them because the linings are black. It is like trying to rummage into a dark hole!
I am going to fill half of them with donations to the charity shop or friends.
I am going to empty a shelf in my cupboard and see what I do not need.
It looks a lovely dry day, washing in the machine. Will be getting it out early on line today.
Sorting a little every day, we do not need all these things.
The bags for the charity shop are building up, need to donate before I get we need to keep that!
Found some thin shower curtains - new. I have put one up at the bathroom window. Looks nicer than the one I had there.
I keep washing the shower and window curtains as they go black in places with constant daily use.
I am also finding I buy less as I do not want the hassle of tossing it out - one day. I am also cutting down on magazine subscriptions with Tesco points. They only go in the bin or donate to friends. I have my kindle or computer for reading.
Oh is doing his bit with my hints.... Put some paper from his gardening book straight in the bin yesterday - after I said. He would only push it to one side on the table to eat his dinner
Finally, got down the pdca - pets charity shop with several bags.Yea!The secret to success is making very small, yet constant changes.:)0 -
good advice re the bags this is what i've been doing and it's really good cos as you say you get rid of bags you don't like and without the guilt. Why do we feel guilty about turfing things out? But nearly 2 months into the declutter i have to say i am more efficient and can find thingsMrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025

Yes, I am finding I can find things more quickly.
Yesterday Oh wanted a knife for the garden to cut some black matting to keep the weeds down. I was able to go and get a stanley knife I had seen in the utility room. Of all the places! It is now in it's new home of the tool boxThe secret to success is making very small, yet constant changes.:)0 -
I am having a half term clear out.
3 bags of craft stuff went on freecycle yesterday and are being picked up this afternoon.
Have put today aside for looking for other clutter to clear.
Happy decluttering everyone.:)0 -
Had a few days off from decluttering as we've been out with the kids. So far I've managed:
71. DD2 trousers. FB, sold.
72. Bottles condensed & recycled in bathroom
73. Bag of rubbish from DD room. Bin
74. Bag of plastic containers in kitchen. Recycling.
More to come today as we're at homeI haven't noticed too much of a difference despite chucking a load of things out, until yesterday.
Our landing is tidy & clear for a change!! I am so proud, it's always cluttered with washing & other bits & pieces, so I intend to keep it clear now..
