Pulled everything out of the airing cupboard, decluttered:

    6 duvet covers
    Lots of pillow cases
    Few sheets
    Apron
    Place mats
    Cot sheet
    Old towels
    Pants
School trousers (caught in duvet cover, now too small)
    Face cloth

Everything that has been kept is now sorted into sizes. Some duvet covers have gone into my craft room to be recycled into quilt backs.

Daughter's bedroom curtains rehung and bunting put up (bought this years ago for another room and never used it).

Have adjusted my target for this month from 75 to 150 as its been such a good month already. Hubby has been feeling much better so has thrown himself into decluttering with gusto, bless him.

    Flung in Feb so far:
    1. Pile of paperwork, sorted & shredded - r/c
    2 - 8. Spice jars - r/c
    3 - 79. Craft cutting dies - sold
    80 - 93. Fishing tackle bits - sold
    94 - 97. More fishing tackle bits - sold
    98. Plastic divider box - sold
    99. 2nd pile of paperwork, sorted & shredded - r/c
    100. guitar - sold
    101. gig bag - sold
    102 - 103. two enormous boxes - used
    104 - 108. five sheets bubble wrap - used
    109 - 110. two posting bags - used
    111. pair mens boots - bin
    112 - 113. two pairs mens trainers - bin
    114. leather jacket - bin
    115. sack of packaging - r/c
    116. wet weather coat - bin
    117 - 119. three guitars - sold
    120 - 122 three gig bags - sold
    123 - 125. three guitar packing boxes - used
126 - 131. six big pieces of fabric - used
    132. sack of polystyrene - bin
    133. wind up lantern - bin
    134. carrier bag food - foodbank
    135. four enormous cushion pads - Loft
    136. ten big moving boxes, flattened - loft
    137. fabric (361 square pieces) - used
    138. clingy underslip - bin
    139. carrier bag of various bits of carp - bin
    140. twelve inches of my hair - cut off - bin
    141. carrier bag of medical packaging - bin

Currently waiting for ten underbed storage boxes to come. Originally wanted 5 and have used them for all my fabric which is great as I can see it and get to it but its out of the way and tidy! Plus, has freed up almost three drawers under the bed which can now be used to put other stuff in.

When the next 10 boxes come, we are blitzing the spare room. As hubby is getting better we need less medical guff so this can go into a smaller place which will allow us to clear the built in wardrobe and use it for....oh...I dont know.....maybe HANGING CLOTHES IN!! :rotfl:

Have a list of "to do's" as long as the street but am finally starting to see the wood for the trees. While hubby was so sick it was like having one hand tied behind my back - with his help it all becomes so much easier. :)

    Sorry for long post :o

Well done everyone for keeping up the momentum. You are all doing great. :T

Trying to de-clutter my current job :( Have an interview next week :)

It's the same day as my 1st aid at work renewal:eek: Can't get them to change it as part of the day is a group assessment / tasks etc. I am a really bad liar and don't think I can pull of a sickie. I think i'm just going to have to bite the bullet with my current boss and come clean

Anyone else been in a situation like this? Ideas on how not to come across as an ungrateful female dog?

Oh god, how more awkward would it be if I didn't get it? We're a very small team :/

    De cluttering...
Are you the accumulator, the person who keeps everything?
Stuff that keeps comming into the house, garage and shed and never goes out again?

    OR

The !!!!!!, who does not let anything lie around. Stands by the bin when opening mail, throws out mags and clothes often. Any thing else that has been around to long?

We are all doing well on this thread, cutting clutter :)
Getting organized, slowly. One small step at a time.

Decluttering, does not happen over night, it means changing our habits, like not having 2 of things. Just in case.

It is bad enough to have to go through the house - now and then.
without having to fight the "we need to keep it! we might need it ONE DAY!".

A slightly 'out there' idea, but why not, lol! I must say I'm still finding it a novelty to be able to use our wardrobes for their intended purpose, after so many years of them being filled with carp, lol! Glad to hear your hubby is getting better.

My OH will throw out anything that's not nailed down, lol, while in the past I always had problems getting rid of things. Sometimes he would secretly bin things (that he saw as junk and I saw as treasure), thinking that I would never miss it, but he didn't realise that if I knew I had something and couldn't find it where I'd put it, I would turn the house upside down looking for it and be annoyed when I couldn't find it! OH prefers the new me, who is a lot better at letting go of things, although I still have some things that I keep 'just in case we need it'!

    Hi all xx
well i finally got to attack the linen cupboard!!
    So ...
    going to CS....
4 double duvet cover/pillow case sets
    2 king size -"-
    6 single sheets
    4 double sheets
    10 pillow cases

we used to have a guest house when up in the wilds, and kept the linen when we moved!! I did keep one set of 2 single duvets as if we have visitors i can use the single bed with a pull out 2nd bed

there were 2 things I couldnt get rid of!!
    1. the first ever duvet cover my nanna bought! must have been 30 years ago - but its so pretty.
    2. the first quilt cover set i bought - it was with my first wage from first proper job after college! its 27 years old and still very nice condition, I also have the pine double bed frame that i got at the same time :D

one thing i am struggling with - my darling mummy died 2 years ago this week, and dad and i know we need to sort her bit of the wardrobe out - to be honest i had kinda forgot that i hadnt done it til dad commented :S

i am hoping that maybe my sis in law will do it for me next time she is up for a visit, i just cant do it :(

Apologies for the delay Donna, life keeps getting in the way and the "black dog" is still here, I won these prizes from a number of sources

The vacuum cleaner - was a monthly draw on the sebo website
The wii & wii fit - a facebook comp
£100 - a postcard comp (listed on MSE)

I try to enter a few most days and as well as these big wins I've also had a few little bits and use these either for myself or family or even as gifts.
well done ziggy - my black dog seems very attached to me also - had to see work's occupational health therapist on monday, I was in such a state that she threw her arms around me and led me through the building, my anxiety is getting so bad now i am beginning to think i could easily become aggrophobic so will discuss this with gp later in the week
