Dry day here so got out in the garden
3 trays of Chrysanthemums finally decluttered into the garden (too wet before!)
2 bags of Ericacious (sp?) compost mixed up to top up tubs
Patio swept & tidied & dead leaves raked off garden & lawn & into recycle bag
Now for a cuppa & slice of cake :)

No idea but I have a 3 year old myself who I have the same problem with so if you find an answer, please share :rotfl:
As a Mum to 6 children - under 11 - I had a large dining room. A conservatory was attached so lots of room for them to play. Toys were in those 2 areas and their bedrooms but not in the lounge. I had a stair gate on the dining room doorway to keep them in! Worked till they got old enough to drag over a chair and climb over the gate. Thankfully - youngest child is now 32!

Not much decluttering done this week. I was out on Tuesday and will be out all day tomorrow, so haven't had much spare time.

However, eBay sales have helped a few things out the door.

Here's my summary for the week

116 Baseball Cap – clothing bank
117 Jar of pickled vegetables – bin
118 Old sun hat – clothing bank
119 Old belts – clothing bank
120 Boxed set of books – eBay
121 Batch of postcards – eBay
    122 Old camera – eBay
    123 2 x 1960’s 7 inch singles –eBay
    124 Assorted Buttons – eBay
    125 2 x books – eBay
    126 Compass (drawing) – eBay
    127 Next top - eBay
    Early retired - 18th December 2014
If your dreams don't scare you, they're not big enough
  • Not a lot achieved, but not much clutter around so must be doing something right!:D

Old letters and receipts - shredded.
    Cardigan I don't like - listed on eb*y.
Some useless /empty products from under kitchen sink - binned/recycled.

Have tons of books to take to CS, but as yet haven't had a chance. Find this really draining as it's still cluttering up the garage even though it's out of the house. Anyone else find it a hassle getting to the CS??:wall:

Thanks for everyone's tips on sticker removal. I'll have a go tomorrow with hot water and vegetable oil and see how I get on. It should get rid of most of it I think and if there is still some bits left, I'll ask the decorator if I can use a bit of his white spirit to finish the job.

New carpet is now fitted in my daughter's room, thankfully it doesn't look quite as bright as I feared. Curtains taken down but apparently can't be dry cleaned because the black out lining will disintegrate. I'll have to give them a cool wash and see how they look. It's ironing afterwards I'm worried about as they are so thick.

    Today we have decluttered:

    Old carpet and underlay
    4 books

cte1111 regarding the curtains, I would wait for a dry day with a bit of a breeze so they can be line dried. I should think that would get most of the crease out.

I've managed a spot more clearing out while cooking the kids dinner.

-9 assorted plastic tubs/spare lids to recycling
-two ebay parcels packaged up ready to take to PO
-whisk bent beyond repair to start a new tip pile
-One passport form completed :j (this has been on my to-do since September) Very please with this one. Just need to get it countersigned now...
-couple more small items to CS bag.
-binned half bag of fresh coffee. Been open too long, had some yesterday, it was yuck.

Now have another full bag for CS and two bags fabric for school bin waiting by the front door.
I still haven't done any cleaning, but I have updated finances/budget and done b/a checks including filing/shredding receipts.
  • I've had quite a lazy day today - long-ish walk with a friend this morning, after which we decluttered a cup of tea and had a natter. Some rubbish to recycling and a pair of trousers to CS bag this afternoon.
Enjoying the power and freedom of letting things go.

I have this problem - I have had a box of things in the kitchen for a couple of weeks on the basis I would see them every day and take them to the CS quickly. After banging my shin on them for the umpteenth time yesterday I finally took them down there today.

I managed to get a lot sorted today so it was well worth it. In addition to items previously posted I also took:
    163 cook book
    164 linen placemats
    165 5 pairs of shoes
    166 jacket
    167 top
    168 jogging bottoms
    169 3 old handbags

I have committed to tidying out the study which is full of loads of tut. Some of the bits above came from there and I also filled a bin bag with rubbish - I was trying to be very harsh but I found it difficult. So many things "could" be useful and I had to be tough with myself. I have a long way to go in that room but I will just do it gradually - I am sure that I would get rid of more on the next sweep and then more again the time after that.

Welcome to all the newbies :wave: this is a nice friendly board even if, like me, you only pop in once a week or so!

    take care all
