DoolallyDilly - CONGRATULATIONS on the job offer(s) I am so pleased for you

nil / claire - welcome to the friendliest thread on MSE, big hug to you, I am sorry to hear of your losses, I too am suffering with depression at the moment - there are a few of us on here that are so you are in good company, my advice to you is set a realistic plan and baby steps, keeping a list is really useful cos when you have a bad day and feel useless you could look at the list to remind you of how well you are doing.

hannerrbabes .... congratulations on the job offer!!!

Mrs Gibbs - that must have been a terribly hard decision to make - sending you a big hug

  • Had put the brown garden bin out last night, expecting it to be emptied by the council, by the time I finished work this afternoon, but it hasn't.

Some cans & paper has been put into recycling bin.

Emails have been sorted, majority have been deleted.
  • had a good day in work, managed to to most of what i wanted and finish off my assignment and get it in early!!! (this is practically unheard of!!). My DS is down his nanny's tonight so i'm hitting the toy room again, tbh honest he was very good last time and let me get rid of loads because he's a big boy now. Might tidy away a bottle of whisky as well hehe
I have dyslexia, so get used to my spelling and grammar :)

Mr F still has 2 steri strips on his head. Bruise is not so bad on his shoulder now. Mr F took a bag of glass bottles to the bottle bank - they don't do a doorstep glass collection here. He also took clothes/shoes to recycling and old medication to the chemist.

    My to do list:

[STRIKE]Sort out things from landing[/STRIKE] - done, mostly just bags of things I had already sorted for charity shop
Empty daughter's bedroom - working on it
[STRIKE]Take her old bed apart[/STRIKE] and to the tip (big metal bed with desk under, she is too tall for it now) - now going into my son's room, mostly taken apart now, will finish in morning before carpet fitter arrives
Take old carpet up and to the tip - still to do this evening
Take down and wash curtains - will do on Sunday
Remove stickers from windows - "
Working our way through the many tasks. Along the way have also decluttered:

    Bag full of clothes
    Small rucksack
Overdoor hanging rail (it rattles annoyingly)
    Travel cot
Cover for buggy that went ages ago
Packaging for new pillow cases (cases in bedding drawer)

Today's list is still ongoing too-

    [STRIKE]-post ebay parcel[/STRIKE]
-complete DD's passport form (this has been hanging around since September!) I am finishing this now!!
-[STRIKE]One large item to list on FB (free if necessary, just need to get rid!) [/STRIKE]
    -[STRIKE]List one item on ebay[/STRIKE]
    -[STRIKE]answer ebay questions[/STRIKE]
-[STRIKE]empty old metal biscuit tins to recycling [/STRIKE]
    -[STRIKE]pay two bills[/STRIKE]
    -[STRIKE]check when DH's car is due MOT[/STRIKE] –
    -[STRIKE]do some filing [/STRIKE]
-make a start on sorting items for local NCT sale - This is a big job. I will do an hour on it tonight, and will carry on over the next few evenings

-3 dead inflatables to the tip pile
-washed a grubby old plastic container I found and have repurposed for storage box DD's dolls clothes and doll bits
-washed headrest from the car which have been in the garage over the winter. They were all dusty and smelly! Now clean and back where they belong -in the car :rotfl:
-4 outdoor toys from conservatory out to kids playhouse (which also needs a clear out but most definitely a spring/summer job that one)
-couple of broken small plastic toys to the bin
-two bags worth of clothes bagged up from ebay/carboot pile. Ready to take to rag collection at school on Monday

I am so tired, but it has been a pretty productive day. I need a few more days like this over the next couple of weeks and the conservatory should be clear in time.

I will have a think this evening about a to-do for tomorrow, but it will be mostly washing/ironing/cleaning focused as these have really dropped to nothing in the last week

It was such a lovely day here today. I was out in the garden cleaning out the guinea pigs, the sun was shining and the birds were singing and fighting over the sunflower seed feeder, even the Robin was visiting. And my daffodils are up, the miniature ones are nearly flowering. Lovely.

Did well. Washing basket empty, a bit left to iron this evening. Afternoon supervising homework session, all done for school next week. Just got to get them to pack schoolbags ready for Monday.

Big pan of HM leek and potato soup made, had some for my tea, DS and DD don't appreciate, they had fishfingers. Two decent portions for the freezer.

Decluttered DS's clothes drawers also, bag of too small stuff to go and list of replacement stuff needed was made.

I got a bit sidetracked from decluttering this afternoon. Pair of DD's grown-out of pyjama bottoms which were such a pretty fabric, decided to use for lavender bags for newly tidied drawers and wardrobes. Stitched two bags, enough to make several more. Just got to buy some lavender. Lovely hour or so doing that, in decent daylight for a change.

    Night all :).

    Keep Smiling :)

Guineapigsquekes It's so easy to get sidetracked when it's a nice day, but sounds like you got a lot done anyway even if it wasn't exactly what you had planned at the start of the day. The lavender bags sound lovely. I have no sewing skills whatsoever, this is something I would like to change but the focus for us this year are the house and garden so all in good time.

I didn't end up finishing the passport form or sorting through NCT sale stuff last night as both DD and DS fell and bumped their heads within 10 minute of eachother. Bedtime has a horrendous affair, they were both upset, wanting Mummy, and very over-tired by the time they got to sleep.
DH and I managed a very late lazy dinner of ham, egg and chips before crashing on the sofa for half an hour then giving in to sleep.

DS was up in the night. He went back off quickly, but I couldn't sleep as had lists of house and garden jobs whizzing around my head. This will result in a lot of coffee will be consumed to get through the day.

To-do list for today has been written

    Saturday
    -finish passport form
    -dismantle old wardrobe
    – to tiptip run (DH)
-Ironing - all the kids clothes
    -washing all bedding
    -clean upstairs

First load of washing is on. Breakfast being eaten as I type. Just need to pack DD off to dancing them can start on the wardrobe.

Had another go at the playroom. Decluttered:

Remove stickers from windows (this is proving difficult, they don't peel off and leave bits and sticky stuff, will have a try at scraping them off with ice scraper I think, then maybe sugar soap?)

cte1111 Sorry I forgot to mention this yesterday. I have found that White Spirit is very good for removing the sticky residue left behind after pull the sticker off. It literally only takes one wipe, and it's gone. I've used it on glass jars many times (after DH's clever suggestion). I'd advise caution though not to get it on the window frame/sill/surrounding fabrics etc as that could be
