Carried on sorting out my books last night. Most are them are now in author order, they used to be in colour order. Managed to part with another 10 books along the way.
My daughter has also decluttered 3 soft toys. We are going to get a quote for new carpet for her room, this is helping motivate her!
Don't know why, but the found 10 bottles of squash made me LOL! I could just see them lurking in a forgotten corner.0 -

:rotfl: - I just thought that I'd given them away ages ago- didn't realise that they made it onto the removal van a couple of weeks ago and have been sitting at the bottom of a pile of other boxes .
Before retiring, I worked from an office in my own home cos I needed to be based 'on-site'.
The rest of us who did the same job, discovered that folks who worked in the office environment were being given free tea/coffee/hot chocolate/dilute squash for during breaks and lunchtime. As a result of that, we asked for and were given the same privileges which included an annual pack of 12btls of cordial ............ You might know that the(Nesc Gold Blend!) got used up very quickly
.
Just shifted them ready for giving away to any of my kids who turn up this weekend - there were actually 11 of them.

Post just arrived - went from front door mat straight into the Recycle bin! Think I'll get DH to cut a slot in the bin to save time - haha. Not a lot else done. Decluttered some stewing beef & veg into the slow cooker. Not a great deal of motivation today - DH is watching the box, Cat is curled up in front of me on the desk snoring very gently - think I'll just chillSmall victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle0

Good day today:
Metal curtain pole - tip
Baking trays - tip
Blind - tip
IKEA bag full of odds & ends - CS
DS's outgrown shoes - recycling
Don't laugh but never been to the tip on my own before. When I drove in our MPV type van they looked as it was past 12 - I saw there is a big sign saying no MPVs after then - but when I got out and gave them a Mr T carrier bag with the tins, curtain rail and blind they were all smiles again!!Flymarkeeteer: £168 and counting0 -
Hello
Some great decluttering going on.
A bag of clothes went to the charity shop this morning. A pile of cardboard went to the recycling/tip. Lots of paperwork sorted most recycled but some I need to deal with.
I have a pile of books to take into work on Monday.
It's recycling/wheelie bin day on Monday so try and get as many outs as possible over the weekend.

empty carrier bag? - bin!

A busy day here and a bit of de-cluttering too. 2 bags dropped off at the CS (but not before OH had "rescued" something of his from them...) and a little more progress with working my way through the filing cabinet (slow job
). Oh and we've advertised a large piece of furniture on freecycle which, hopefully, will be collected soon.

i believe the decluttering will help my mental health some what & help me move forward in my life.
I'm sorry for your losses, Claire, I do think that decluttering helps the mind as well as the house, but please be kind to yourself at the moment (hugs)hannerrbabes wrote: »I've been offered the job for the interview I had last week!!!
Well done :beer:TheDoolallyDilly, congratulations on being offered the job and well done for being honest with yourself and turning it down. Fingers crossed for you that the alternative position will suit you better.
Thanks - I've accepted the other job, and I start after half term (it's in a school). I'm now nervous about the job! I hadn't had a job interview for about 20 years, and then I go and get offered the first job I interview for - but I haven't had a paid job for 20 years, although I do voluntary work, so it's going to take some getting used to!
I've been out most of yesterday and today, so no decluttering done, but I am typing up a chore list so I can keep on top of the house during term time :AEnjoying the power and freedom of letting things go.

DH took the stuff waiting for the tip to the tip today, along with my steamer which is broken. Also recycled the xmas and new year recycling dates leaflet :rotfl:. Haven't done much today, apart from 2 lots of washing, but I have got rid of 100's of emails, slowly working my way through them. I still have 363 on hotmail and that's after I got rid of the ones I didn't need . Apart from that only an Amazon sale has been decluttered.
