Had two items collected by Freeglers now.
Two bags of Christmas card fronts gone in recycling. The charity shop bag is filling up.

Couple more bags full of rubbish removed from my daughter's bedroom. She does not enjoy decluttering!

Also had a sort through of my Gran's papers, big pile now waiting to be shredded. Old wallet in the charity bag.

Congrats doolally on both getting the offer and realising as stood wasnt quite for you
Symposium this morning so not back on office till 3. Line manager said it was an early start do you really want to go back. Yes i said i have marking to do. But couldnt log in to marking :-( so on with call the midwife :-) and sorted emails using the toothbrush prinicple ebook :-)
New mattress arrived so for today
    1) mattress plastic bin
    2) mattres cardboard cut, folded and in car for dump tomorrow
3-8) 6 opera scores friend emailed about earlier
    9) programme from this morning's symposium rc
    10) booklet from training-it's all on the web! Rc
    11) nice new kettle arrived so box to rc
    12) old kettle to bin
    13) mum's bday dvd arrived so cardboard packing rc
I actually ended up spending 2.5 hours on emails and got them down from perilously close to 800 to 555 using the toothbrush principle guidance. She reckons 100 in an hour so she got it exactly right. Login now workong but too late for marking. New mattress on bed, old one by front door. i'm donating our practice organ to the cathedral and they're organising a van for finger crossed sunday if it happens i will say aha in return for free organ please first dump the old mattress.
Oh and i also resisted free pens at symposium ( we have enough to open a stationers!) and cakes. Very nice lunch so glad i kept my appetite :D

Hi guys, as money savers a question for you all...

Why are you sending your clutter to the CS when you can earn money by selling them to the shops that pay by weight.

You could stock pile and take it all together on shopping day and have the money as either savings or a meal/desert/wine treat?

Sue14 - thanks for giving us an update on how your dad's doing - I'd been wondering how you and he were both getting on since his discharge from hospital. Sorry to hear that he 'scuppered' your meeting with the SW - parents eh smiley-rolleyes010.gif!

Good luck with re-arranging for another meeting - but make sure you keep 'at it' where the hospital discharge procedure is concerned.

He's worse than a toddler sometimes, lol, I even lost him in Mr T's last week, as I left him sat on a chair while I went to put another parking ticket on the car, and when I went back he was gone! I looked all around the store for him, and when I went back to where I'd left him he was there, turned out he'd gone into the toilets, lol!

I had the second meeting with the SW on Wednesday, she asked him what he remembered about his discharge, and if he'd been told that he was being taken home, he said yes and that he'd told them it was ok so long as they let me know. He also said he was angry that they had 'harmed my daughter' (bless), I assume he meant that they'd upset me and made me angry. When she left his flat she went to speak to the neighbour who he was left with, and the woman whose house he walked round to. I don't know what they told her as I've not heard anything from her since. The other SW said the enablement team will continue going to help him for another 2 weeks (although after tomorrow they will only be going in the morning, as they don't have anything to do for him in the evening), and then he should be having a carer going in every morning, to help him get washed and make sure he uses his inhalers and eye drops, but they need to do a financial assessment first to see if he will have to pay anything towards it and how much.
Well, I got the job! Am completely amazed. However, I did turn it down as it wasn't exactly what I thought it was. They've now offered me another position there, they left a message as I was away all day at my disabled son's review meeting. I will be ringing them later to find out more.
I haven't done much decluttering recently... but I got some great news today! I've been offered the job for the interview I had last week!!! Wooo! :D So happy!!

Congratulations to you both on the offer of jobs, hope they work out ok for you.

No more declutter projects since last post, but keeping up with the daily clutter :). Today, that included DS and DD PE kits including super muddy trainers, all washed/dried and ready to go back to school after half term. And another week's worth of groceries away and quick sweep of cupboards/fridge/freezer while doing so to ensure nothing in there that I won't use or out of date. Pleased to say not too much wastage, just small bit of cheese that really was past its best!

Reference some of posts earlier stating decluttering good for mental well-being, I so agree, not only because a decluttered home can be so much less stressful, but also the process keeps you busy which I have found is a good coping mechanism in life. Although we have all had times when it's all we can do to get out of bed, and sometimes even that seems impossible :(.

On a happier note, off to declutter some cake from the cupboard :). Good luck with the weekend decluttering everyone x

    Keep Smiling :)

I got up this morning in the mood to get stuff done, and I had no emergencies to go out for, so I have had a busy day at home.

I’ve put all the newspapers from beside the sofa into recycling (these went back to 13th January:eek: and filled 2 carrier bags)
emptied a fabric conditioner, and a hand wash bottle and put into recycling
    binned 2 Christmas cracker toys
finished a bottle of washing liquid, bottle in recycling
    shredded a pile of paperwork
combined 2 part bottles of pop in 1 bottle, and put empty one in recycling
filed a pile of paperwork from kitchen worktop
did a pile of ironing that has been on the armchair for at least a week and put it all away
did 3 loads of washing, 1 lot put away, 1 in tumble dryer and other still to be dried
mended 6 pairs of OH’s socks
dusted and polished tv and tv stand
    washed coffee table
    cleaned kitchen worktops and tiles
put washing powder into tub that I keep in the shed, so the box is no longer behind the kitchen door
finally put 3 pyrex dishes (that I brought back from MIL's partner's house a couple of weeks ago) in the cupboard

Mind you, I had a few phone calls throughout the day, which I thought might mean trouble, lol! The 1st was at 8.30 from 1 of the enablement team, to tell me they were outside my dad’s flat and couldn’t get in, I said he’s probably not up yet so she said she would have to keep knocking until he answered. There was no point in me going round, as although I’ve got a key, I wouldn’t be able to open the door if he wasn’t up as the door would be bolted, and he’d have the chain on. She didn’t call back, so I assume she managed to get in and he was ok. Next call was from MIL, then my mobile went and it was my supervisor, I thought she was going to ask me to go in as someone had phoned in sick, but she just wanted to ask me to do a bit extra on Monday. Then the phone went again and it was about PPI, I said ‘not interested, thank you’ and he carried on jabbering on so I just cut him off, lol, and then a bit later MIL called again.
