Oh dear... had it been there all the time and been through the washing machine?
    .
Had been there sicnce the summer, but Fortunately not through the WM. was considering buying another so very happy.

Last night friend who has caught the decluttering bug gave me two items. One is a brochure of book club books dundee library has. The idea is the nominated person orders the set and borrows them all on that person's ticket.
The other is a stylus for my ipad. He wanted one and they came in sets of two :D

Morning all :hello: - oh well, it's not raining, no wind and not too cold - quite decent for February, I suppose :). Hope nobody else is suffering too much with bad conditions.

I loved reading about everybody's progress yesterday :T.

Flyingmamma - how on earth have you managed to keep working up until now:eek:. The latest that I ever managed to last out till was 33wks with DS2 and oh boy was I happy to finish then :). DS1 was 5 and I was walking him to school - getting to work for 10 till 2 - then picking him up at 3 and walking back home again. Thinking back, that was probably me 'at my lifetime fittest' :rotfl:. Enjoy the next week and don't do too much - or that little one might just decide to put in an early appearance :).

I'm getting ready for my CS shift this morning - don't forget The Mantra, Lilyplonk - 'I'm here to sell, not to buy! I'm here to sell, not to buy!'

Good luck for today, everybody - take care - Lilyplonk xx
  • Just finished work.... 5 wks off ... Feel a bit sad actually. Thanks all for good wishes I'm gonna finish getting organised over the next week ... Bin day tomor this is the first time in years it hasn't been overflowing.... Think it's down to my new non buying things we don't need and trying to use everything up.... Been freezing more stuff too instead of chucking almost out of date food like lemons I cut them up and stuck in freezer bag! Now I always hav a slice for my sparkling water! Also froze buffalo mozzarella and it was perfect when we used in pasta sauce! Hav been thinking of getting a slow cooker but wonder will it just be one more thing to clutter the cupboards or wud I really use it??? Any ideas? Gonna do 15 declutter of util room now.... Med box is overflowing!

Well in addition to sorting the cleaning cupboard out on Friday, I've now done the food cupboards - so much out of date stuff thrown out and space on the shelf now for baby milk etc ready for April :j
Tea tonight is from the freezer so we're starting to use stuff out of there. Had an online grocery shop delivered today and deliberately didn't order any freezer stuff, will do a proper freezer inventory this week.

Just the under stairs cupboard, DVDs and the shed left from the list. I'll tackle the under stairs cupboard this week and leave hubby to sort the shed out when the weather's better. No rush on DVDs as they're neatly organised in the sideboard in the living room so it's just as and when I can be bothered to see if I can "cull" any in ebay's direction!;)

Am really enjoying this - think my decluttering efforts are being helped significantly by my "nesting" urges but not complaining :T

[/LIST]Well today I've sorted out the cleaning cupboard! Also found some old gold jewellery onlt 9carat but have been reading here on MSE about selling gold and have got a quote from the company recommended on here. Should get around £80 back :T (depending on if it passes their inspection when they receive it)

Keep up the good work everyone :) CBQx
No decluttering for me today as I'm at work and out tonight. In fact probably won't get chance to do any more until the weekend.:(

But I've had a payment into my bank account for the scrap gold I decluttered on Friday. After the postage cost (special delivery) I've made £78.35! Result! :j

Well not been on here for a while for one reason or another but decluttering is almost complete for the whole house! :T Just hubby's decluttering of the shed and the understairs cupboard to go. House is much tidier overall and much easier to clean, I find that I'm now much less tempted to leave washing up in the sink or on the drainer overnight or to let the ironing pile up. Everything is done and up to date.

We've started work on the nursery and some other areas of the house are also getting a lick of paint and it's all looking lovely ready for baby's arrival! I'm so happy.

Charity shops have benefitted from 7 sackfuls of decluttered stuff plus various items taken to the dump or freecycled. Very therapeutic. Just left with a sizeable pile of items to be sold on e-bay. Will crack on with that this weekend. If I can't sell things within two tries then they'll go to the charity shop. Need the space and now I'm used to a decluttered environment the pile of stuff is driving me mad!! :o

So far this year with what I've sold on ebay, facebook and the scrap gold I'm up by £152.94 and hope to be able to add to over the next few weeks. I'm giving myself 8 weeks to sell it all then I have a 3 week "breather" before my due date. I have decided that the money I make is going to be my guilt free fund to splurge on post baby clothes seeing as I've given most of my pre pregnancy wardrobe to the CS!

Apologies for the long post folks, keep up the good work :T

Evening folks  - back from the CS plus a trip to Asda.

Oh dear, I had a minor slip today at the CS - I came out with a pair of school trousers for dgs1. I am going to plead the excuse that they MUST have 'had my name on them' ;). Dgs1 had gone through the knees of his school pants (yet again) and, as these are the right colour (black) and in his size (11-12), it would have been absolutely criminal to have ignored them for the sake of £1 :j!

Resisted all the books - including some very interesting ones AND some cookery books that arrived while I was there ;) - plus I donated a Honey Pot with Wooden Honey Server AND a load of skirt hangers that we're desperate for in the shop.

I'll pop back again later when we've had our evening meal - Vegetarian Kievs and salad - with Oven Chips for OH .
  • Hello All

Hit the ground running tonight when I got in from work, picked up mail that had come through front door while I was out, sorted it to keep just the one piece of paper I actually needed and took all the rest out through the back door and threw it in the recycling bin. Before I'd even taken my coat off. Going to keep that one up. Should help with money saving as well, at least a couple of takeaway menus in that lot :).

Last night, decluttered my mending pile, let down hems on three pairs of DS's school trousers, he just keeps on growing, mended hoods on DS's and DD's dressing gowns where they have been hanging up and got holes in and stitched DD's latest Brownie badge on sash. So nothing waiting to be mended. Then had good sort out of sewing box helped by DD who enjoyed sorting all the cotton reels and buttons. Lots of bits and pieces decluttered from that, not much space wise, but sewing box looks lovely :).

Not sure yet what little declutter challenge to set myself tonight, really ought to do the ironing ;).

    Keep Smiling :)

Unlurking again to do a quick post, some triumphs, some annoying, and a question.

I rang the CS I usually take my stuff to last week, and arranged the day I'd go, and turned up with a car full, about 15 various bags boxes and carriers. So glad it's gone, already started the next load and hoping to call in Monday weather permitting.

On Saturday I threw out in the bin a small basket with a broken handle, and a 2012 diary after I checked it had nothing I needed. Bin men came yesterday, and about 2 hours later I found said basket and diary! DH had retrieved them, as he felt they could be reused in some way... He also brought home a toaster from a skip, because he thought it might work (it doesn't) and a used string mop, just right for cleaning the kitchen floor NOT, so now we have to get rid of stuff he's scavenged. Do you get the impression DH isn't quite as interested in decluttering as I am?

I just found a tin of dried milk unopened and dated 2011, and a tin of cocoa opened and dated 2008. Should I ditch them, or will they be any good? I'm inclining towards ditching for cocoa and perhaps also the milk. I've thrown away today a large tub of pickling spice which smelt musty, and some garam masala which I bought and never used.
