Chuffed with myself as I didn't think I would manage any tidying up during the week but I was looking for a document so it kind of forced the issue tonight! Gone through a massive crate of junk/paperwork on my dining table and have a huge bag sorted ready to shred, some of it from 1999!

So will shred all that tomorrow when I get in from work as its way too late to be doing it now.

Umpteen Metro newspapers and work mags dumped on my table over the past few weeks gone to recycling bin plus all the paper/cardboard junk from my bedroom I came across yesterday is now also in the recycling. Timed it well, bin day tomorrow!

Found a huge pile of shoes to sort through, looks like a couple of pairs will be thrown as too small for kids now but I found my snow boots!!! I've been wearing my wellies but they just aren't as cosy for keeping my toes warm. Yay...bring on the snow! We had some this morning but its melted already.
    Well done!

Donna I don't think I would take it, but I also think they won't offer it to me!

I would be rubbish in an interview these days - but you never know my last interview was hideous but we had such a laugh - i clearly hadn't researched the position but they offered me the job anyway...because of the chemistry, they knew i would fit into the team...so you never know!

I've been helping my mum declutter her house as she's moving soon, and has 15 year's, 5 children, her mum, and 2 partner's worth of stuff there! Lol. Yesterday I went through my remaining things there and sorted for CS, bin or keep when me and OH drive there to collect. Went through the airing cupboard with mum and managed to find a pile to sell and found 10 bags to give to CS. However, the airing cupboard remains half full! :p mum gave me a cooking apron so now I don't need to buy one :D
The CS (where mum volunteers) is going to be thrilled with all the stuff they'll accumulate. It'll be a small rooms worth!
Can't wait to help her declutter more an Ive advised her to use a cash 4 clothes company to get rid as she has soooo many clothes from my nanny& herself she'll get at least £30 I think!
And I managed to sell my little brothers broken bike on eBay too :)
hannerbabes - you are such a good child - I have just noticed your goals for 2014 - stay focused and determined and you will set the world on fire xxx

New bookcase is now up in my daughter's bedroom. With some help and persuasion, all the books are now in place. Along the way, decluttered:

    3 magazines
    Pottery dish
    Grubby pencil case

Spent 10 minutes moving things round in my craft room last night. Put all the crochet magazines into the folder and wool into bag. Binned:

    Packaging
    Box
    CD cover
    Old paperwork
    Crayon and broken pencil

Really busy - got a lot on today - BUT I've just had a clear out of my printer ink cartridges - 3 to be recycled 1 to be replaced. Printer now working :)
Small victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle
  • Thanks Donna at hospital today hoping it won't be long now....this will be my last baby so will hav a good clear out of all stuff we won't be using! You seem to be really good at recycling will hav to try harder at this it just takes forever gathering up enough bottles for bottle bank trip etc! Have really got the house in good shape thanks to this thread kids involved to now and hubby loving my new non buying attitude! I hav found so much stuff during the decluttering that I'd forgotten about! Handbags my biggest weakness and my dh nearly fainted when I turned down his offer of a new mulberry bag for v day!!! I'm a changed woman!

I always feel really relieved when it's rubbish day too!:T I have some cardboard boxes to get rid of tomorrow with the recycling.
  • Recycling bins due to go out tonight, so I have made a supreme effort and gone through a box of paperwork relating to my father, who died 12 years ago this week!
Huge effort, but not as hard as I thought it was going to be in the end. Very little kept from that box. Plenty more files to go at though.
  • Recycling bin got emptied this morning. :)
Haven't done much else so far today, except:

take 2 bags I filled up over past couple of days to Charity Shop
small pile of paper ready to get shredded
5 Slimming World books now listed on Amazon

As I've got some ironing to do, catch up with the housework (hoovering has been done so far) & some bed sheets/pillow covers to put into washing machine.
