Decluttering 2013, the saga continues ...

Had a look into the second underbed drawer, quite a lot of stuff in there, including my late Aunt's jewellery box. I've kept 3 rings that fit me, they're now re-homed in my new jewellery box that my Mum gave me from Christmas.

Decluttered:

Jewellery box (CS)
Lots of earrings (will take to my sister, if she doesn't want them she can give to CS or see if her friend who is a jewelller can sell them)
Watch (going to check if this is silver)

Whilst waiting for the kettle to boil, thought I would have a little go at the baking shelf, decluttered:

Marzipan (from old Christmas cake kit, not dated but think it is quite old)
Chopped almonds (ditto)
Various coloured icing tubes
OOD cake decorations

I found a box of tea, coffee and sugar sachets collected by my OH from various hotel rooms. I've put them in the appropriate tins next to the kettle, hopefully they will then get used up. Chucked out the plastic box they were in.

Mental note to ask OH not to collect stuff from hotel rooms, as have also had to declutter lots of little bottles of toiletries, shower caps, sewing kits and other 'useful' items he has swiped and left all over the house.

Work yesterday, so priced up 26 books that have been languishing in a pile by the settee. Priced Valentine's cards and put them out. One box of baby wrapping paper, four pictures, a linen basket, box of china, two lamps all priced and out for sale.

4 wooden venetian blinds and three roller blinds taken by someone to see if they want them, hopefully they will.

Old baby gate and lots of cardboard in the car ready for the tip. Off to Dunelm Mill to get two more big cushions as the other two look so nice.

Will sort a bit more later and report back

Hi everyone! can I join in this please? over the last year I/we have half- heartedly attempted to declutter with a view to putting the house on the market.

today I finally threw the remaining odd socks away, most of which had been hanging around for a couple of years.

I want to sort out my make- up later, the toiletry aspect here is not good either! always looking for the perfect shampoo etc!

My magazine clippings folder is decluttered :j Most of it ended up in the recycling bin I need to NOT rip more bits out of magazines and then file them away!

The office cleaner complemented me on my beautiful office this morning
Waiting for OH this morning rather than drum my fingers I went to one of the dumping rooms, brought down a shoebox of stuff and sorted it. Will update later when I've decluttered my 13 items.

Go for it myrtle - remember, just because it is technicallly useful, doesn't mean you have to hang on to it (thinking of toiletries that you don't like / will never use). Get chucking!

The muse is upon me! 4 portions of cassoulet decluttered into the freezer. One chicken frame decluttered into the fridge & the bits simmering. I've also managed to back up all my photos today onto discs - so one disc 'thingy' in the bin. Going to keep going today as its a '5:2 Fast day' & I need to keep busy!!

Well, the cable box is slightly decluttered, and the cables that had collected around the box have been put in it.

I deleted some old Word documents, too. Will start on the emails (eek!) tomorrow. Off to declutter the ironing pile now ...

Dragged big ikea bag from top of DD's wardrobe, one of those where had chucked everything in 'to sort later'. Must have been 2 years ago!! Only half way through but 20 items in recycling and 5 in charity bag.

Also tackled a clear box from under her bed. I had used it to store clothes that were too big, but she has just helped herself to those and chucked a load of guff back in. The lid was broken from where she stood on it. Box left outside, lid recycled, and all contents either binned, recycled, or put in charity bag.

Going to call it another 50 , taking me to 325 I think for the month :j!

Now, time to wrap some presents and write some cards to get them out the house.

OK you've inspired me to also have a go at my electrical drawer, decluttered:

Sat nav case (CS)
Phone cover (CS)
Cosmetic bag (not sure why this was in here)
Various phone chargers and leads (bin)
Voice recorder (think this needs returning to mystery shopping company)
Nintendo DS documents (recycling)
Battery charger

Rehomed 2 DS chargers to the DS drawer. Hopefully will also ebay:

Old sat nav (it does work but connection is a bit dodgy, will sell for repairs or spares)
2 old phones (or send for recycling)
Camera (rarely used)
2 sat nav holders (will bin if don't sell)

Wrapped up friend's birthday present and will post on way out to pick up kids.
