10 minute declutter of a drawer under my bed:
Lots of OOD multivitamins and garlic capsules
Brand new boxed perfume (CS)
Old glasses (will take to opticians)
Dried up face wipes
Pretty box (bit grubby so binned)
Hand cream (why do I have so many of these when I don't use them?)
Old tablets (will take to chemist)
OOD medicines and indigestion remedies
Basically the whole drawer was full of unused items. Kind of want to keep the drawer empty now! Will leave it empty until I can decide what deserves to be kept in an awkward drawer that is difficult to get to...0 -
I'd feel inclined to fill it pretty darn quick with 'something that needs to kept close but out of sight' BEFORE it becomes a 'hoarding ground' again. Possibly a good place for a spare blanket/duvet - maybe stored in a 'storage bag' - though you've probably got THAT on the bed at the moment
. What about a 'summer throw' that's not being used at the moment? Spare pillows? Sleeping bags for kiddies sleepovers?

Holy moly... I've missed heaps in the last few days... picked up my copy of "Banish Clutter Forever" (Toothbrush principle) from the library so will begin that later as we're snowed in at the moment!!
Did manage to declutter a HUGE pile of mags to a friend yesterday too so that's a plus

I am trying to do the 40 bags challenge. It's a challenge that some Christians do for lent, but I am nicking the idea. I thought it sounded impossible, but it's okay (I'm only on day 3 though!). I got back from work last night and thought I would never fill a bag, but I had a box of paperwork that needed shredding and that ended up filling a big bag.0

I added a few things to the CS bag. I have a money box and some free stuff a charity sent me in the post. I'm going to look through my wardrobe and get rid of a few items that I haven't worn in years!:D0

Another go at the drawers in my dressing table, decluttered:
Half bag full of toiletries
OOD tablets and medicines
Hairdryer
Various small bags and boxes
Random first aid items
Tray that had cosmetics in it
Nail varnish
All keepable medicines, tablets and plasters consolidated into 1 box. Cosmetics that will be used all in one cupboard, I'll revisit these at some point to see whether they are genuinely useful or just things I'm hanging onto for no reason.
Gosh this is a bit depressing, so many things that I've bought that I don't really need. Feel like never buying any cosmetics ever again! I've rehomed some of the bath products, shampoo and razor to the bathroom and chucked out an old razor.
Small selection of new products to list on ebay: Burrts Bees and Clarins, hopefully someone will like them.
Now got 2 empty drawers - this is visible progress at least. Still got most of my make up to sort out later in the week. Need a break but come down to the lounge to relax and it seems to be full of clutter! AHHH where did that come from?0 -

I have spent a good part of time today 'decluttering' the stuff out of the living room into the new bedroom wardrobes. DD - mine are built in fitted ones and the 'top box' part on both of them have now got the keep things in them. Three shoeboxes of CDs (I got rid of the jewel cases a couple of years ago and put all the CDs and and inserts in the little plastic slip cases) and a few books I can't bear to part with.
So, the living room is almost clear of the bedroom stuff - just a couple of items of furniture which will go back on Friday after the carpet is laid. There is a small pile to go to the CS or maybe offered to some friends??
Can't wait to have a go at the still cluttered kitchen but it won't be until after next week now.
I really enjoy reading everyone's progress on here. :T:T to you all.
Maybe a little snifter is in order tonight!0 -
Right I'm tired from work but need to crack on with some decluttering. 15 minutes. So who's not done any decluttering today? So..Who's with me for a declutter session?
