I'm all of a tizz, because I got a phone call asking me for an interview for the job I applied for last week :T:eek:
Have added a book to the CS bag - because I ordered a book on Amazon yesterdayEnjoying the power and freedom of letting things go.

Good luck Doolally Dilly, hope it goes well for you.
Not really feeling the decluttering today, had a look at the remaining underbed drawers - one has even more toiletries in it! Shut the drawer and left them there.
Then looked in the other drawer to find a letter that my Grandpa had written to my in 1991 telling me he will always love me, with photos that he hoped I would share with my children in years to come. Just avoided sobbing at that one, second drawer also shut, but letter and photos brought down to show my family later. I might scan some of the photos and put them on facebook for my cousins to look at too.
After emptying 1 electricals drawer, I then realised there was a second electricals drawer. All in all feeling that I'm still sinking in the clutter. Think I need my OH to help me later as now the lounge is getting recluttered with items that I don't know what to do with.
So what have I actually decluttered (trying to keep positive)
5 tubs of OOD garlic capsules
Used up bottle of talc (replaced with lovely new one found in drawer)
Mascara sold on ebay (will post in a minute)
2 mobile phones are now charged, boxed and ready to take to Cex next week. Although one of them has old photos on that I spent ages looking at, will finish deleting them later too.0 -
Got the surprise of my life earlier - a phone call about my new 'expected-tomorrow-freezer' about to arrive today :j. It's now in place and being allowed 'to settle' until 3.30 this afternoon when I can finally switch it on :T.
This means that the meat I thought I would have to cook today/tonight, can actually go in the freezer as it's actually on its 'use-by date' today.
I've also had a  when I came to empty the old one - I honestly didn't realise that my hoarding habit had extended to the amount of food that was in there - I've got to seriously have a go at using up the contents.
Keep up the good work folks :T:T - we've all still got lots to do to keep us out of mischief.
Great news about the interview, Doolallydilly - be strong and confident, you can do it.

brill news doolally we're all rooting for you
gers you're an inspiration
cte1111 I have been decluttering now for almost a month. Some rooms are looking really good, others have a way to go, and none is 'finished'. I made decluttering my new year's resolution, and started it 27th December. This is a) the first time I have started one early and b) the longest I have ever kept my NYR going. The results didn't really start to show for a fortnight and now things are just taking off. For me it's little and often and very important to clear the stuff you've cleared. So anything for the bin goes out that day. Anything for recycling ditto. Charity bags must be stored somewhere else (handy if you have a guest bed) and go within the week. If something is suitable for a friend / neighbour or needs returning put it in an obvious place and note in your diary when you're going to drop it off.
Set mini targets of clear a drawer if this helps, or for me it's 13 items a day (can do more but must do at least 13 which motivates me when I'm tired - 13's not too many but in a year will be 4745 items! Move things to where they are most useful (this is a tip from the toothbrush principal). If you're going to sell things on ebay do it but not if what you're really going to do is store them and never get round to it (this is aimed at me btw). Don't keep things for the person you'll never be (me again - just gave 3 craft kits I will never do to the charity shop. they were causing me guilt and will hopefully make some money for the charity shop and give someone else pleasure)
And keep sharing your inspirational stories and problems. We're all here to help each other. Again I think posting my 13 things every day has kept me going. I keep a post-it to write items on through the day and update in the evening (though did it this morning cos I'm going out tonight and didn't realise I'd be sent home early cos of the snow)MrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025

Everyone is doing so well - it's great that everyone is getting the DEclutter bug lol
Thanks for all the good wishes for the interview, which is in two weeks' time. Better crack on with the decluttering, in case I get the job! I need to organise some decorating and a new carpet, too.Enjoying the power and freedom of letting things go.

Also sorted out house insurance renewal, made customised bookmark for my daughter's friend's birthday and set up online access for my credit card. Quite good.

Sue14, I am sorry to read about your dad, it's absolutely awful how they discharged him. Hopefully the experience hasn't affected your dad too much. Best way to complain is via the PALS office, all NHS trusts have got one.No toiletries challenge, started 18/1/2010 - Putting £1 in my savings jar for every item that I use up. Pot 1 to 4 = £261. Hi all,
Today I gave a ball of crochet wool to a friend (I won't use it and she will), and a bag of DD's outgrown clothes to another friend for her daughter.
