Today was loft day. Some of you may remember some 21 odd cardboard boxes removed from there several months ago. Well about the same amount was also removed today! I have almost hear the loft/ceiling sign a huge sigh of relief
:oYou'll have to forgive me that I'm going to summarise the main things and not list them. I'm just too tired from all the hard work today.
23 x cardboard boxes of things bought, used, even binned, long ago
mirror
Old calendar from 2000!!!!!!!
Mags of shredding, rubbish, recycling
Broken PC equipment
An old sleeping bag
CD/DVDs
Jewellery
:j Some 38 items in total :j
Right off to add that to my tally for this month and get some rest for me and hubby :ADeclutter 300 things in December challenge, 9/300. Clear the living room. Re-organize storage

Evening everyone!
You are having quite an effect on me. Today DH and I cleaned and I pulled out the chest of drawers in the bedroom and vacuumed behind it. Not decluttering, but cleaning up. I can't believe the amount of dust which builds up behind something, even though we don't stand behind it.
A touch more decluttering today:
4) socks and pants which have been worn to death, but are now clogging up my drawers. I'm not going to begin to tell you how old they are...
5) Handbag decluttered of receipts. I found one from last June. Enough said on that one too... Far too embarrassing!
Have a good night everyone.

Well I have been anxiously awaiting the weekend so I could declutter, love reading these boards and get so motivated. Sadly on Wednesday I suffered a gout attack, was given tablets at hospital and by Thursday lunch was a shaking, shivering wreck permanently stationed in the bathroom. Been out if bed for the first time toda and am hoping that tomorrow I may be able to get something done.... Found out my SIL is pregnant so last weekend I dragged all my old baby stuff down from the loft , now all my hard work decluttering earlier in the month is covered up by the new boxes. Very disheartening!! However last weekend I did make a whole bin bag of paperwork rubbish, anyone know the best way to get rid if I don't have a shredder? If I take to the tip is that ok or should I burn it all?0

I'd say it all depends on how confidential the contents of the paper work are - are there any names / addresses /bank a/c details ............ - I don't just mean your personal info, you need to think of anybody else whose name/address/phone numbers might be on there.
I'd say your best bet is to see if there's any 'identifying info' bits that could be torn off - if that's too difficult, then I think you should either burn, or shred the lot!0 -
This morning i am really enjoying reading the things people have thrown out to my OH to show we are not the ony household to have things like 16 tealight shells, underwear from before the ark and empty aerosols. Off to church to declutter my soul then a Burns lunch. Back later.MrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025

It's been a couple of days since I posted, but have made good inroads - I have a couple of boxes of books to go to the CS, plus another pile that are about to be packed up to We Buy Books as soon as I unpack the printer to print off the postage label. I've also been able to persuade the boys that they don't need to keep their old Cbeebies magazines, that are pretty trashed, so they are now in the recycling bin. Just got to persuade my husband to do something about his car magazines now!
The amount of decluttering on the thread is inspiring - am off to see what else I can sort! Liberty6201, hope you're feeling a bit better today.0 -

My craft and book room, which was all tidy and sorted before I started decluttering, has now started to look a bit of a mess, with items transferred there from other rooms. I got some new magazine files for Christmas, so thought I would make a start on the craft magazines. However then found lots of non-craft magazines!
Anyhow decluttered from craft room:
2 lamps
2 unfinished tapestries (from my childhood, don't think I will ever finish them)
Slimming World magazines
Canal Boat magazines (kept bits for canals we might visit, need to find a nice folder for these, am not short of folders, have similar stationery love to other posters)
Not a bad start, as was wanting to hang on to those magazines really...0
