Decluttering 2013, the saga continues ...

  • Snowed in here, so a good excuse to get decluttering you'd think: not happened though. I watched the omnibus of Corrie and Emmerdale, working on hubby's quilt, then made a shepherds' pie for dinner. After that I hung some washing up, got showered and dressed and made a couple of morsbags. By which time it was lunchtime.... then I had a nap. Made a couple more morsbags since and caught up with the progress on here.

Reading all your messages makes me want to get up and go and declutter immediately, but by the time I've read them all the urge has disappeared! However, we haven't got our granddaughter tonight or tomorrow (because of the snow) so will make the most of tomorrow and try and get some done. I feel like I'm stagnating at the moment: got loads of areas to tackle but because it's all neatly put away I don't want to untidy the place again by getting it all out!.

Oh well, I'll sleep on it... going to watch TV tonight whilst working some more on the quilt. Might even get it finished, you never know!

Hope your dad feels better and can come home very soon Sue xx

Filled one large bin bag with shredded paper...wish i had a decent shredder, after every 20 to 30 pages mine gets overheated. Supposed to be able to shred 6 sheets of a4copier paper at a time, i only shred two at a time.

Hopefully i will be able to get a decent one at some point.

I still have lots to shred as DD kindly provided me with about 200 sheets of used a4 which she was writing her practice essays on for uni.

It will all be composted so it won't be wasted.

Currently i am decluttering a largish bag of toffee popcorn...

    2 mugs
    1 mini tankard
    Salt and pepper set
Cake stand (got other prettier ones, now displayed on the shelves cleared by rest of this list)
    Snow globe
    Decanter
    Papier mache duck
    2 big candles
    Little dish

OH has also fixed the broken cupboard doors, fingers crossed they don't fall back off overnight.

Well today I have made a start!!
I decided to go through some boxes of cds/etc that have not been touched for over 2 years - probably nearer 3 years!!
I have 20 cd's to go to c/s (they are horried ones that my girls had - steps, sclub etc :D ) I asked the girls if the wanted them - and was met with looks of horror :D

also found about 50 of those cd's dvd's you get free in the paper, again, not been used so also going to c/s

2 board games to go to c/s as well and some outgrown shoes and trainers.

Whilst I was shopping in Mr T, youngest DD and I found a perfect birthday pressie for my darling neice who shall be 1 in a couple of weeks - some dinky sized Jodpurs (yes I know she is too big to ride ponies yet, but she does have a rocking horse :D )

Then we came home and I went rummaging in the cupboard and found a pair of little leather jodpur boots that all 3 of my babies used as well as my best friends 2 :D

I am off on tuesday and intend to attack the scary cupboard that is full of many boxes of random things!! ekk!!

great going everyone - cold is retreating so have got some decluttering mojo back

    * medicines cupboard in the kitchen, sorted through 10 cough mixtures thrown away (I think I buy a new one every time I have a cough) various packaging gone and all organised with the hardcore ones in the locked box. plus restocked the car first aid box and worked out 2 things I'm running low on.
    * clean washing all put away - serious backlog of dirty washing to get through, but I'll plod on with that neverending task through the week.

    * last coat on dd's toy box so can wax tomorrow, will try and redirect a few of the contents to cs if I can do it after she's asleep.

    * random inherited plates from when MIL moved into their family pile after her MIL died and foisted it all on us, all in yet another box for the cs, i so hope they're open tomorrow. and cutlery to join them.

    * started bringing ex's bed frame downstairs to be wrapped and put in shed.

    * and finally - decluttered infestation of lice from dd (shudder), one lone crawler from ds and am sitting here smothered in a preparation myself :(
    :AA/give up smoking (done) :)

Hi guys. I've not been on this thread for about 2 weeks! Still been plodding along decluttering and tidying and quite pleased with our little daily routine which is meaning I have more time to declutter. Nothing major to report in or out I don't think.

Sold loads on eBay this month (35 items I estimate) and done a fair few tip runs. Managed to fix my Hoover too (needed a new belt) and sorted out a few bits I'd been putting off for ages :)

Hope everyone is doing well, I haven't read back, too many pages sorry!
