Decluttering 2013, the saga continues ...

I'm still trying to catch up on the posts since my last post, everyone has been so busy! I wish I could say the same but I've not really been in the mood for decluttering, and not had much time or energy either, as my dad was taken into hospital with breathing problems 2 weeks ago (he had a chest infection) and is still in there, so I've been worrying about him and also having to visit him in between working and helping MIL!
Sue14, hope your dad feel a bit better soon.No toiletries challenge, started 18/1/2010 - Putting £1 in my savings jar for every item that I use up. Pot 1 to 4 = £261. Pot 5=£23
Boots points:£39.21. Extra money in 2012:£674.59. In 2013 £603.48. 2014: £85. 2015: £0 :j0 -
Morning everyone,
I have made my first sale on e bay. Yippee!:D
Also sorted DS's book case yesterday. There were books there from when he was 5, he will be 17 next month!
Happy decluttering everyone.:)
Moorhen, well done on your first ebay sale. How did you find the whole experience? I am not on ebay yet.No toiletries challenge, started 18/1/2010 - Putting £1 in my savings jar for every item that I use up. Pot 1 to 4 = £261. Pot 5=£23

Been through the various pots of bits and pieces in the lounge. Most items have now been rehomed to where they should live, also decluttered:
Non-working pens
Plastic box
Hand cream
Nail varnishes
Film negatives
Business cards
Still have collection of small items that need to find a home next to me, guess I need to put my radical decluttering head on and bin some of them, not feeling it today.0 -
donnajt - I think it was you who asked about a '27 Fling Boogie'
- It's a part of the Fly-Lady programme. Most of her stuff is just way-too-much for me to handle, but I love this one ................... You grab a bin bag/carrier bag, put the radio on and dance around your rooms - grabbing as many cluttering items (27 if poss!) as you go. Then you go straight to the bin and tip them in - NO PEEPING AT THEM / SORTING OUT / SECOND THOUGHTS - just get shut of them!
:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:I thought it was bogies :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: I was horrified at the thought :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:STUPID WOMAN THAT I AM :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
Love this idea - I think I might be a bit pushed upstairs to find 27 boogie items upstairs but will def give this a go in kitchen and dining room today0 -

Purplevamp - you've started, that's brilliant. Just keep on keeping on, you'll get there. And you found some stuff you can use up, very MSE!
Sue14 lots of get well soon vibes to your Dad.
donnajt you've definitely found your decluttering mojo :T that's brilliant.
I can report that I have gone through a file and recycled or shredded anything unwanted :j. I have various cardboard folders of things that can be sorted, culled and refiled in one of those concertina file things - snow has stopped me shoppingat the moment so I don't have one, but I will sort through all those files later. I also unearthed a folder labelled 'filing'
- some of the contents were shredded, but there are one or two things that I want to keep but that don't have a proper home. I need to think about that a bit.
Hope everyone is keeping warm and safe.Enjoying the power and freedom of letting things go.
Decluttering - January 2024 - 89 physical objects, over 700 emails/digital decluttering 🎊 🏅🏅0 -
I have done some ironing this morning, still a huge mountain to go but I may even do another hour later on!
-broken pen binned
-4 items taken out of playroom and made ready for NCT sale
-2 old tops to ragbag
I have fixed a dress of DDs that needed a couple of stitches and put it away! I have a pile in the corner of our study of things that need mending but I probably haven't even looked at it for over 12 months. I think there are clothes hidden there that probably don't even fix the kids anymore  This needs to be tackled, but in the meantime, I will NOT add any more to it.
I have also ordered two seller packs for a local NCT sale next month so this should help make a bit of a dent in the surplus toy and clothes collection :T0 -

well done on the paper culling, I love seeing a pile of papers shredded0 -
Packed up an old phone that's sold on ebay, used the money to buy some pinking shears (one in one out).
Decluttered most of the fridge magnets, also removed stickers and asked kids not to sticker furniture or walls.
Hopefully OH will take the 8 bags of decluttered items from this week to the charity shop, I've asked him to go to a different one this week, feel like we've sent too much to one.0
