I think we all need to remember that it's very easy to be keyboard warriors in regard to a situation that Mandi is faced with. We don't have to consider the implications and consequences, she does.
We also don't know the full story, and any agency such as the NSPCC will err on the side of caution to cover their own backs should things take a turn for the worse.
.................:)....I'm smiling because I have no idea what's going on ...:)

You're right - it is. But - that applies to pretty much every thread on a forum like this, not just this one. At the end of the day, you post a question, and you'll get a variety of replies! Keyboard warriors, trolls, and people who do post honest and polite responses.

Without the full story I can't say 100% what I'd do. But I stand by my comments that I don't think an abusive situation should be left with a child to deal with. :)
' <-- See that? It's called an apostrophe. It does not mean "hey, look out, here comes an S".

This child has shared sensitive information with you that has let you worried about her.
Ring social services and voice your concerns - they are the professionals trained to decide if the situation needs further intervention or not. All the talk of empowering the CHILD to sort it herself is a red herring. This girl has asked for your help - give it to her by involving the authorities and letting them decide on an approproate course of action to safeguard the children in this family. If you think that she is at risk when you share this information them let her stay at your house for a few nights or to be interviewed at your home.

    BUT - do it tomorrow!
Mama read so much about the dangers of drinking alcohol and eating chocolate that she immediately gave up reading.

Bit of a bump, but I wondered if you had an update Mandi?
I ave a dodgy H, so sometimes I will sound dead common, on occasion dead stupid and rarely, pig ignorant. Sometimes I may be these things, but I will always blame it on my dodgy H.

Sorry, I'm a bit of a grumble weed today, no offence intended ... well it might be, but I'll be sorry.

Hi OP, the thing is, the mother apparently goes out drinking and leave the 16 year old to look after the young ones...this is neglect of not only the 16 year old but the young ones too.
    .

Is that neglect? So every time someone gets a 16 year old babysitter to look after their kids while they go out in the evening they're neglecting their child? I quite regularly leave my 16 year old in charge of his 11 year old sister while I go out (not drinking though, have to add!) and I'm pretty sure that's perfectly legal.

Not that I'm condoning the mother's actions in general of course. I just wanted to address this one point. After all a 16 year old is legally able to have her own kids.

    Crap life.....
It is nice to see the value of your house going up'' Why ?
Unless you are planning to sell up and not live anywhere, I can;t see the advantage.
If you are planning to upsize the new house will cost more.
If you are planning to downsize your new house will cost more than it should
If you are trying to buy your first house its almost impossible.
