Had a bit of a lie in this morning, mainly because I persuaded the boys to go play in their bedroom and they did for an hour
So breakfast is done, I've super cleaned the bathroom including des along the shower I plan to try and clean the shower every time it's used now. A quick wipe over should save me time in the long run. I've also decided that I am going to start using my dishwasher! I usually wash by hand unless I have people round. It means I end up not having breakfast or even a drink of a morning then I end up getting a Macdonalds coffee after I drop the boys off at school! Lovely thought they are they cost £1.39 so that will save me a few quid each week!
Christmas cards are down and we are taking them with us to the parents for scrapbooking!
Need to do thank you cards for Christmas gifts today too!
I will be back later. Porridge and 1st cup of tea done. Operation tidy up about to start. Have taken Christmas cards down and put those in the wrapping paper box to make tags for next year. I got a good long box from Robert Dyas that holds the long rolls of paper, so have set that up with pair of scissors, Sellotape and bows - everything in 1 place for wrapping throughout the year. Have warned kids that it is kept that way:rotfl: I can but hope.
Also in honour of family and friends I am going to burn those Christmas trees and Father Christmas candles that I keep saving from 1 year to the next!! Somewhere I read a poem about things we wished we'd done in our lives, and one of those was burning the candles that we always save for "best"!! It hit a chord with me as I have loads of candles......
No doubt I will pop on throughout the day, tea break related of course!2015 £2 Saver #82

Think I'll join in.
Married, 14 yr old son, 2 dogs work part time, always running at the coos tail!!
My problem? Laziness I'm afraid, there, that's the brutal truth.
I'd love to declutter, and be a lot more organised.
I'm so disorganised with meals too, I'd really like to do a meal plan, I seem to spend far too much money on groceries then get home to see there's not a meal in it, its all junk, a lot of which ends up in the bin!!:eek:Don't try to keep up with the Joneses - Drag them down to your level - it's cheaper .0 -
Nice to see so many people joining in!! I feel shattered today after getting very little sleep but my plan for today includes:
- Ironing
- 1load of washing & drying
- Write meal plan & shopping list
- Check what cards I have....and buy one for DS1's friend's birthday if necessary
Think that's enough to be going on with.....have a great day everyone!;)20p Saver Club #33 60p/£100

It sounds as though everyone is feeling motivated and trying to get organised. I wonder how long we will all last?
Regarding uniform, I agree that it should all be kept in the same place once washed. For us, this is next to the tumble dryer. Polo shirts, joggers, and sweatshirts don't need ironing, and if I am careful to lift the clothes out and fold/hang neatly and immediately, neither do trousers or shirts
On top of the tumble dryer is one of those plastic chests with three drawers. Each child has a drawer for socks, with any odd ones going into a tub beside the chest. No more hunting for socks in bedrooms, and it frees up drawer space upstairs as well.
The washer has been on - I have to wash at least one load a day. My son is doubly incontinent and the PCT have just changed suppliers. His new brand of nappies leak terribly, so even more washing for me. I will let the continence nurse know in the new year, but in the meantime, even an hour after a clean nappy can mean his jiggers needed changing.
Both lads are at their grandparents at the moment. Their dad was supposed to be there today, but he rang his mum last night to say he would visit on Sunday instead. We didn't know until we arrived at nanny's house and she told us.
I could spend the time cleaning, tidying and decluttering, but instead I am going to have a sleep. I am up every night with my son, 3-4 times a night, so I catch up on sleep when I can.
Finally, I have revised my headings for my weekly 'to do' lists. I have a file divided into quarterly sections, with an extra section at the back. I am mainly sticking to the headings I posted previously, but I am not including the items that I am buying for my daughter, as she is likely to see this file. Instead, I am keeping that list separately. I have added a couple more headings - exercise for the week :rotfl:, plus what we are doing in Rainbows and Brownies the following week. I have started to fill in next week's page, as it starts on Monday.
One task that I always intend to do, but never get round to, is putting snack money into labelled envelopes for my son. He pays £1 a week for snack, but every Monday morning I race around at the last minute, finding change and writing the details on a money envelope. This is now changing. Honestly! Tonight I will write his name on an envelope for every week of the term, and will put pound coins into each one. In fact, my son enjoys writing, so I think I will get him to help
I'll check in later ladies - off to sleep now0 -
2 loads of laundry done and the box of books transferred to the boot of my car to go to charity shop. Nearly there, but it's not cluttering up the hall now! And to make room for it, all my plastic storage boxes are now in the playroom/study to start sorting out. I need to sort the kids arty/crafty stuff out, we have a ton and I'm sure I don't know exactly what we've got!
Have a plan for decorating our room, I have a load of fabric scraps and I was going to buy a load of cheap embroidery hoops and use them to display the fabrics. A bit like this.

Will order them online after lunch, hoops at only a few pounds each.0 -
Hi there!
I'd like to join in too, although it may be mostly lurking.......
DS is 22 months, DD 5 weeks old, so I'm still in a bit of a spin, finding my feet with a routine, etc. DD currently likes to do most of her feeding (BF) between about 3 and 7am..... actually she seems to like feeding most of the time!
Am slightly allergic to housework and DS still needs a lot of attention, so housework/organisation quickly goes out the window!
My longer term, bigger goals are:
- to sort out the attic (we're preparing for a loft conversion)
- to have some regular time for myself to prepare a creative project for work (at the moment am prioritising sleep during the day!)
I guess that prioritising is the key!
One thing I like doing with housework is to figure out how I can do more than one thing at once. Eg.
I clean out the inside of the bath/tiles/etc whilst I'm in the shower (much easier to reach and extra time in the shower).
I quickly clean the rest of the bathroom another time whilst DS is having his bath.
Figure out shortcuts whilst cooking that make less washing up/cleaning.
Also I like the tip of making things a habit - so now each morning, OH looks after the kids at breakfast time and instead of just showering, I also put on a wash and sort out any bins/nappy buckets.
Who knows how many efficient habits I could get into in 2013 - looking forward to reading all the tips!0 -
hmmmmmm washing washing and more washing, i seriously think my kids laundry breeds.
plans for today
another 3 loads of washing, towels are in at the minute and i want to get a white a dark and coloured load done as well. then dried and fold what needs to go away and into a black bag with things that are too small for me to go through when its full to see what can be sold, what goes to charity shop and a pile for clothes bank at school
i also have 2 large boxes full of paperwork that really needs to be cleared out, i pile things up until the mountain becomes huge then it gets flung in a box, really need to sort this aspect of my life out as when i need something i can't find itDEBT

sounds like everyone is doing really well and are getting things done. I'm not doing too badly today, I've done one lot of washing and hung it up and have another lot in, I've taken down some of the christmas decs too. OH has gone out now and baby is awake so I can't do very much now. The kitchen is still a bomb site, not really sure when I'm going to get time to do it, might do it later when baby has his tea, but not sure what time I'm picking OH up so we'll see.
I bought a diary today, just a normal handbag sized one to go with my dairy diary, it was reduced to 49p in dunelm mills. Managd to get some laundry bags too so that the washing can be sorted whilst putting it in.
I definitely agree with the wash a day, I fall really behind if I don't keep this up. I find that I can be really organised for a couple of days but then I go out and am in such a rush things just get left where ever they are put down and no cleaning gets done, I need to come up with a plan to incorporate trips out. I did start to write out a plan/routine on my thread but it doesnt really work at the moment, so I need to bring in changes to try and make it work for me.
Keep up the good work ladies, your motivation is spurring me on0
