LiveLoveLaugh I'm wondering whether you or anybody else with more than one child can give me a little advice?

I need to sort out DD's toys and, as we do hope to have another one day, I'm wondering how much is worth keeping? I have the attic space to store it but does a second child play with toys their sibling is playing with or are the age appropriate toys worth hanging on to?

Am trying to have a major clear out after experiencing just how many presents children receive lol

I agree with chickywiggle, we kept a lot of our first son's educational toys and tbh they were hardly touched by DS2, he thinks its great to go and try and take whatever DS1 is playing with much to DS1's annoyance, lol. Plus he got a lot of his own new toys that were similar bought by family and friends and so I ended up with a lot of toys that all did very similar things, when DS1 is at school he does play with the other things more though so I would just keep a few that were well liked. I am now just getting round to getting rid of the things that haven't been played with for a loooong time.....Also agree with chickywiggle about when you want to get rid of them it is their favourite toy.....we have a playroom and it is jam packed, tried to have a clear out before DS1's birthday in November and he wasn't having any of it.....I've set a new rule for myself if they don't play with it in the next 12 months its going, and I think I'm probably being too generous there?!

    Hey everyone
Well to say I'm taking it slow would be an understatement!

I've managed to complete a total of two things - sort out my emails (sounds small but one of my accounts had about 3000 emails to delete or file...) and I've de-cluttered one shelf of a book shelf in my living room and started on another.

On a positive note, the school uniform is already for tomorrow's school and I'm about to pay school dinner money for the week. Clothes bought yesterday in the sale are away already - normally it takes a few days for me to find some spare hangers!

Baby steps I think is the way forward...next thing is to create my list and break it up into bits.

I keep looking in The Works for Organised Mum diaries but haven't found one yet - anyone else had any joy?

Hope everyone's had a good weekend

Ok so I am still managing to keep the shower lovely and shiny :D

Today I have taken down all the Christmas decorations and put them in the loft. The tree is out the front of the house ready to put out with the garden waste in Weds for collection.

Have done one load of washing, hoovered all through the house. Tidied DS1s clothes drawer. More importantly sorted out what money I have left for the rest of the month. Wrote cheques and actually put in the post rather than leave them on the passenger seat of my car for a week:o

  • Hi everyone and welcome to our new members onto the thread :)

Shegirl, you are welcome to PM me anytime and I will get back to you as soon as I can. I know how hard it is with a disabled child, alkthough my son doesn't have autism. My friend has a severely autistic child, though, who sounds very much like you son in some ways. Sometimes just having a moan or a rant can help to relieve a bit of stress, even if it doesn't actually improve things overall. So I would like to offer you the hand of cyberfriendship, if such a word exists :)

Some of you seem to be keeping up with everything quite well. Unfortunately I am not one of them :(. I have done very little today, just the essentails really. But never mind, tomorrow is another day, and the kids are back at school :D. Hopefully I can get a bit more done this week, but I must admit I'm not feeling very motivated at the moment. Time to give myself a serious talking to, I think :p

    Evening all!!!

Not doing too bad, but could do better! This is what I've done today:
    Empty Dishwasher
    Hoovered upstairs
Went to Asda for 6 things, spent £50!!!!! Did get some containers for my hm soup though!!
    Put shopping away
Put nit stuff on girls hair and sorted that (fed up with it but hopefully they are completely clear now but have a back up bottle just in case! Wish other parents would sort their kids out!!)
Sorted cupboard understairs apart from 3 carrier bags of papers and filing cabinet!!!
Started sorting friends money for banking
    Started 1 set of minutes

Not too bad I suppose! Yesterday was very proud of myself. Binmen came and I always put my bin out the back which is emptied about 7am. Got the bin in, filled up with 2 black sacks I had over plus carp from both girls bedrooms and a quick shifty round downstairs and filled it again and put out the front!!!!! Was a bit worried they wouldn't take it but they did, was well chuffed!!

Will post my list for this week later on. Hope you all have a good Monday, I'm back to work tomorrow since 21st December!!!!!!
Need to sort my life out! :T
