EPSON rx425 WON'T PRINT DESPITE NEW CARTRIDGES

Hello santer - dare I offer you a Happy New Year, with further posts here?
Bonne Ann!e, Bonne deux mille treize, comme même:-)
Since then, every time I've opened putah, this is state of play, as per post 26:
When I started computer, that small 'found new hardware' msg was along the right/h foot of page, with corresponding msg box, showing as 'copying files'at left/h foot of page, asking:
The File EE291__1.ICM on EPSON Stylus Photo RX420Series is needed.
Type the path where the file is located and then click OK.
I have been too busy/absent to give time to this, but have just now stripped out all Epson stuff and will attempt full reinstall, following your instructions scrupulously later. If this doesn't work, am prepared to buy new printer, simply because I need the facility often and by me. Going to nearest town, using Library, is neither cost-, nor time-effective.
If it comes to this, what would you recommend, bearing in mind my OAP budget status? I'd love the fax and scanner to work too.
Thankyou so much.CAP[UK]for FREE EXPERT DEBT &BUDGET HELP:

Happy New Year to you as well
Did you download this, unzip it and look for EE291__1.ICM
http://esupport.epson-europe.com/FileDetails.aspx?lng=en-GB&data=nKGrQtfEm6nLBtwC0ZUSPWm91tkH8tdf&id=18706
If so, did you manage to copy it to the Epson folder on HDD [:C]
Did you ask on Epson chat for a technician who would install the printer by remote access?

Thanks santer - dashing in and out now, will rtn late tmrw.
Did all as directed, multiply. Tech. chat was useless, somewhat robotic. Have 4 sets of transcript but all off 'til demain.

When you are finally able to reinstall the printer and if the problem persists - (before you chuck it out the window) have you tried at all removing the cartridges and putting them back to make sure they are seated properly?
Sorry if this sounds too simple to be true or if you have already tried.0 -
Just back jones+,
Thankyou for replying - yes, all cartridges out, in, replaced twice over.
The problem began with one, then a 2nd, low/no ink msg, so proceeded as usual to replace...and thus began this Thread.
I'm out by 0630 so need to sleep now. Back demain soir to try again as outlined.CAP[UK]for FREE EXPERT DEBT &BUDGET HELP:

If you have uninstalled everything for the printer, and checked it is not showing in devices and printers, maybe start with Epson chat to ask about their technician installing it with remote access.
If they cannot do that, ask them to guide you through getting EE291__1.ICM
in to the correct folder.
Hope it goes well.0 -
Spent several hours with Epson chat the other day, santer.
Got nowhere.
One major hurdle is me not knowing, or being able to find a definition that I understand, what a 'pathway' is in order for me to type it in, when asked - relating to your 2nd sentence. Epson don't answer direct ?s. Tmrw though, I'll begin again.
To save time, suspect I'll dash into Cambridge Library, print out what I need for week in Paris after doing Spitalfields Antiques Market on Thursday. That's a 2/3am start and I'm 64 that day!..hence taking self to Paris:-) on smell of oily rag[and will haunt Les Puces]
I'm not going to let myself become rattled and use hours now needed for tight schedule/prep. If it doesn't come together tmrw, it'll be deferred to rtn, week after next.
Thankyou again for your attentive posts.CAP[UK]for FREE EXPERT DEBT &BUDGET HELP:

Well, all back to square zero, not even square 1.
All reinstalled but can't complete - if only someone could tell me what a pathway is, I would type it in.

If you get this file on to your PC
http://esupport.epson-europe.com/FileDetails.aspx?lng=en-GB&data=nKGrQtfEm6nLBtwC0ZUSPWm91tkH8tdf&id=18706
Unzip the folder then open it, look for EE291__1.ICM
Left click it to highlight it
At the top of the folder, click edit, click copy
Go to the Epson folder on HDD [C:]
At the top of the folder click edit, click paste
That should place EE291__1.ICM where it is required
Doing it this way is the same as typing the pathway etc
During the install, where it says type the pathway, is there an option to cancel that, or does clicking cancel, cancel the install? If it wants to cancel the install, copy the file then.
If there is an option to cancel when it looks for EE291__1.ICM select that and let it complete the install, then copy it to the Epson folder.
I would have thought Epson would have a technician to install it for you by remote, may be worth asking to speak with a supervisor.
