EPSON rx425 WON'T PRINT DESPITE NEW CARTRIDGES

Not for the first time, this problem has recurred.
I use compatible cartridges.
Needed to replace black and cyan. Did so.

No printing, so ran tests. Only magenta and faint yellow showed up.

Re-did half a dozen times, having read another thread[op-BertieUK] on here.

Subsequent msgs came up requiring replacement of magenta, then yellow.

I now have 4 full cartridges and nothing printing. Repeated nozzle check and head-cleaning and test prints attempted - no joy.

Help please - need to print out a proof of payment.

Epson have jets that clog up when left dry and out of ink.

I have an Epson printer, not the same model as yours and the same happened.
Try un installing it and install again, it worked for me

I'm trying to do this, but it won't co-operate.

Try turning off the printer for a few minutes (this'll make the machine re-read the chips on the cartridges and reset them; a common problem with compatibles).

Did this and have tried again twice. Still have only red/yellow/orange showing up, none of body of document.

Dear helpers, if you can...

Have followed all suggestions several times.

Couldn't uninstall prnter, but it now shows as [Copy 1]after model no.

Just printed a red/orange/yellow photo again.

Prior to printing, cartridges are sometimes showing as greyscale full, other times as colours at correct levels.

What next please?

If you got to devices and printers, right click the one you do not want, click remove device.

To print the thing you mentioned, maybe change the colour to very dark blue if possible.

I use refillable carts which can be run with head cleaning fluid if the maintenance head cleans won't clear a clog.

That sounds like either the chips on the cartridges playing up and/or the drivers. I would take out all cartridges and if possible change them for new ones. Before that though I would uninstall the printer.....you say you can't - WHY NOT?

1) Did you make sure that there are NO JOBS listed in the printer's queue? This is often an overlooked problem that jams/stops a printer from being unninstalled.

2) Did you try the uninstaller that came with the printer software or download?

3) Did you try and install the printer on another computer? If so, what were the results?

1. I hit Uninstall Printer under the All Progs list. It briefly does eggtimer, but nothing else happens.
2. All jobs cancelled - learned that one on previous occasion long ago.
3. Don't have another computer and it's a pig's botty job trying to fiddle with anything in this confined space. That said, all plugs, connections etc. are correctly in, not twisted or folded up in agony and rebellion.

Not quite sure what you mean by your no.2. beyond my description above.

I am concerned that when I went to Control Panel and saw printer, I followed the Help instructions on How to Uninstall, but this just produced a 2nd ikon, as in Post 7. I therefore deleted ikon for original one, thinking anything more recent would be the working replacement. Appears not to be so.

If you go to all start, all programmes, open the Epson folder, you should have an uninstall icon and a list of printers.
