    Week 3 UPDATE I

Continuing with operation make space in the freezer so it will close easily.

F 11th HM pizza, garlic baguette & salad (pepperoni/ham/chicken & mozzarella from the freezer). Eaten as planned. Supermarket didn't have the own brand bases I wanted, so had to make do with the Nap0lina ones. I didn't enjoy this as much as I would have with the other base :o

S 12th Teryaki chicken, rice & prawn crackers. With mini satay sticks & mini spring rolls to start (chicken, satay & spring rolls from freezer). Eaten as planned but didn't have the starters. Instead of plain rice, I did 'unfried rice' basically all the ingredients for fried rice, but not fried :p

S 13th Chicken, roast potatoes, cauli/broc/carrot & gravy (chicken & roast potatoes from the freezer). Will be eating this as planned, as I have already got the chicken out of the freezer! lol

    M 14th Chicken Arribiata pasta
(need to use up some cooked chicken chunks bought for sandwiches with a use by date of today)

T 15th Chilli & rice (HM chilli 'ready-meal' from the freezer).

W 16th Chicken kiev, new potatoes & salad

    T 17th Paprika pork & tagliatelli

Not going to beat myself up if these meals don't happen on these days, but do get used this week, or if are swopped for other cupboard/freezer stores with no additional spend. :A

Good luck fellow meal planners for the week ahead :D

I ended up subbing one of our meals from later on in the month for last night. The casserole I intended to do on Friday didn't happen as the butchers didn't deliver the meat until Friday evening. So I moved Saturdays meal to Friday night, and have some lovely leftovers in the fridge which will do me one day next week with a couple of pitas. Yesterday we spent the day draining the central heating system to remove the bathroom radiator ready for the new bathroom next weekend, so it ended up being kievs and chips cuz it was easy. I did, however, remember to get the duck out for dinner and the Bacon and bagels for lunch, which is great! (my weakness is forgetting to take stuff out of the freezer!)

Loving all the new meal ideas :)

Essentially we stuck yo last weeks plan but substituted the blue cheese recipes with soup for lunch and bean & eggs on toast instead! Had 4 6am gym sessions too but remembered breakfast daily. Meal planning is also helping with keeping a watch on my eating :0D
Off to do this weeks plan (& read through a few more posts for inspiration!)
    First home- Oct’16 until June’21: £170.995- Overpayments made £13,784 (25% extra!).
New forever home- Sep’21 £309,449 @ 2.05%. Plan to clear it before 30 years!!!!!!
  • I'm in. I just started going through my store cupboard and found masses of very out of date food. Some of it can still be eaten, but it's crazy - I need to get better at only buying for planned meals or store cupboard staples which will definitely be used fairly promptly.

Monday: chicken goujons, new potatoes, veg
    Tuesday: chicken pasta bake
Wednesday: bread and soup (frozen from previous home-cooking)
    Thursday: pasta with bolognaise sauce
Friday: stir fry using slightly out of date sauce from the cupboard
    Saturday: pizza rolls
Sunday: no idea but I'll think of something.

All of the above subject to change or swapping around since I haven't bought any of it fresh - I'll be using up the store cupboard and freezer contents.

Friday is HM pasties. I didn't think it was pizza - that was last friday & I'm trying to not repeat meals too often!

Took my mum to Costco yesterday, so all that space I had made in my freezer? Yeah....well... :o

Sat : Chicken stir fry + pork ribs
Sun : Balm Carousel (aka Lamb Casserole, a la Fawlty Towers!)
Mon : Fried rice (use up l/o cooked rice from Saturday)
Tue : Smoked haddock + veggies
    We'd : Mackerel on toast
Thu : L/o casserole ( possibly served in Yorkshire pudding if I can get some eggs)
Fri : Spicy chicken strips + chips
  • I have made my first ever HM pizza. Using a Jamie Oliver recipe. Used value flour instead of 00 but still crispy base.

Used up stale cheese for the topping.

    YUM!
