Ok, so the next meal plan takes us up to payday with minimal shopping needed. Ive allocated days, but as usual this may change:-

F11th: Chip butties, with gravy and sweetcorn (all I could rustle up that didnt need defrosting!)
S: Chicken in hoisin sauce, with noodles and egg fried rice
S: Lunch out/ tea: picnick tea (sandwiches, HM cakes, yogurts, cheeses etc)
M: Sweet and Sour chicken with egg fried rice
    T:Chilli & rice
W: Chicken tagliatelle & garlic bread
T: Beans on toast & fruit sponge and custard
F: Ginger and garlic salmon and noodles (me)/egg, chips and beans (DH+DS who wont eat salmon!) & the remains of the fruit sponge and custard.
    S: Not sure yet...
    S: Lunch out/tea: picnick tea
    M: Pay day :j

We've moved the hoisin chicken to tonight rather than next Sat as we have half a large onion, half a punnet of mushrooms and some brocolli in the fridge that need using up and we figured that was the best meal to do it in. Thankfully, Ive remembered to lift the chicken out today :rotfl:

Forgot to put my meal plan in:o

I've changed the end of this week - and wouldn't usually try 2 new recipes back to back  but ... and this is where this is great ... I've checked what needs used first & this has massively influenced how the meal plan looks - it's working! :T:T

I too change my meal plan if I have something that needs using up. I'm going to have potatoes left from the weekends meals, need a quick easy meal on Monday so having chip butties. I can't remember when we last had 'proper chips' I will save the planned meatballs (in the freezer) for another day.

Fantastic! :D depending on uour freezer situation you can make lots of stuff in advance and freeze it. Whenever I make bolognese mix I use a kg of mince and get 3 lasagnas from it which I freeze in those pyrex dishes with plastic lids so I can cook from frozen, plus about 4 portions of bolognese to mix with pasta. Of course if you've limited freezer space freezing 2 lasagnas and various tubs of bolognese is a bit impractical ;) sounds like your off to a great start!

Hi thanks, sorry so long with a reply. Been doing fleeting visits on site last few days.
This is my plan for feb and march meal plan months. Want to make sure we are fully stocked and ready for the period as DS is due end march and hubby isn't much of a cook. So need him to be able to just get a meal out of freezer and pop in oven. Otherwise I know that all my hardwork and planning will go out of the window.

My aim in the long run is to be a month ahead with meals. So basically cooking and freezing in feb is actually food on march's meal plan. May take me a while to get the hang of it, but that's what I want to aim for :p. That way I can mix the meals around if I/hubby fancy something else that night, but it's already factored in and cooked. Think it will make life easier in the end, and allow for a bit more flexibility in the planner. Obviously the fresh and packed lunch things will be done as we need.

Is anyone else working their freezers/plans in this way? Interested to hear your feedback ideas

OK, the meal plan is already made for the coming week so here goes:

Sun - Roast Lamb with all the trimmings
Mon - Hot Roast Lamb Baguettes with Minty Gravy
Tues - Toad in the hole with beans
    Weds - TBC
Thurs - Black Bean Chicken with Noodles
    Fri - Pasta Bolognese
Sat - Pork Curry with Brown Rice
    Sun - Shepherd's Pie

Going to put extra effort into making some sweet things and I'll have to research using up marzipan as I bought a pack for the Christmas Cake and never used it (never actually made the Christmas Cake for that matter). So, I'll have to see if there's any biscuits or anything I can make with marzipan. :)

    Have a lovely evening, all.

I've been Money Tipped! Debt-free and Proud!
    Hi all :)
    This comming weeks meal plan:
    Sun-Roast chicken, all the trimmings
Mon-Chicken curry, Lemon rice, Nann bread
Tuesday-Soup and crusty rolls/Cheesy pasta for my 8yr old
    Wed-Chicken stirfry, noodles,prawn crackers
    Thur-Kedgeree and salad
Fri-Cheats pizza, tomato and cucumber salads
Saturday-'Big salad' (this is a mox of savoury rice, salad, prawns, boiled eggs, and a whole host of various things).

I have everything i need in the house, so i shouldnt need to go food shopping until Saturday evening or Sunday.

I might actually do an online shop on the Sat/Sun as i dont ever go food shopping on a weekend, as the shops are always very busy.
