I have gone way off track with meal planning recently and will get back on track. After a few hiccups recently - we haven't been grocery shopping in ages, but do still have some store cupboard ingredients, herbs etc.
I share your pain, ive got a couple of pieces of salmon in the fridge I meant to use yesterday. I must use them tonight or i'll have to throw them out. We don't seem to be eating meals at the moment. All we seem to be doing is wanting to pick at food. I think it must be the heat. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. I find spending a short while planning and doing my shopping list (using what I already have in as a starting point) once a week saves me a lot of time and energy during the week. I always include a few meals from the freezer that can be missed out if plans change.
This week's plan for me:
Fr: out
Sa: lamb rogan josh (from freezer)
Su: roast lamb (from freezer) with all the trimmings
Mo: chicken casserole (chicken from freezer)
Tue: burgers (freezer) with onions, chips etc
Wed: Bolognese (freezer)
Thu: liver (from freezer) & onions, mash and veg
Can you tell I'm trying to run down my freezer a bit!;) So all I really shopped for this week were fresh bits. The curry and Bolognese are fairly instant while the others I've taken out earlier to defrost.0 -
My plan for next week, starting Monday:
Coconut peanut chicken (Quorn) stir fry served with vegetables (onion, pepper, carrot & sugar snap peas) & Thai jasmine rice.
Roasted sweet potato risotto with bacon (soya for me, real for OH).
BBQ quesadillas (with Quorn chicken & rice) served with homemade pineapple mango guacamole.
Bacon (soya for me, real for OH) & leek risotto (was supposed to be made last week, but we spontaneously ate out one night).
Meatball (Quorn) & vegetable (onion, peas, sweetcorn & broccoli) pasta bake in creamy tomato sauce.
Lemongrass beef stew (real for OH, Quorn for me) on rice noodles served with stir fried vegetables (beansprouts, cabbage, carrot & whatever else we have leftover in the fridge!).
Baked camembert pasta served with vegetables (peas, sweetcorn & broccoli).0 -
As I very easily go off my menu plan and end up spending, i thought I may join you and see if I can keep on track this week.
Only plan Monday to Friday as weekends tend to vary in what we do so store cupboard surprise comes into play.
Monday: Baked fish, vegetables & new potatoes.
Tuesday: Homemade Pea & Ham Soup.
Wednesday: L/O Soup with sandwiches
Thursday: Salmon Steaks with rice & vegetables
Friday: Tomato & Basil Pasta with Salad
All ingredients are in, so no need to go shops0 -
My plan for this week looks like this:
S - Chicken and broccoli stir fry with rice
M - Taco salad baskets
T - Burritos with refried beans and corn
W - Fajitas
T - HM Chinese style turkey and veg noodle soup
F - Chick pea burgers in tiger rolls with salad
S - Out for a family meal
S - Pancakes
I have everything in that I need, and most of the meals are already cooked in the freezer, so just need assembling. I've got a busy week this week, so need easy meals!0 -
