I think I'm going to have a slight change to my plan for tomorrow. Was going to be sausage, egg, chips and (baked) beans. However I got a couple of slow cooker recipe books for xmas and loads of recipes use various types of beans - something I've never cooked with - so I picked up a couple of tins from tesco earlier this week. I've been desperate to give them a try even though they weren't on the plan. I've got a dozen eggs in the fridge so figured I really should stick to the plan and use the beans next week - its not like they are gonna go off, is it? But OH has nearly finished his jar of pickled eggs (HM xmas present) and wants some more so I can use up the eggs by pickling them!
So plan for tomorrow is now a sausage cassoulet done in the slow cooker which is good as I need a quick meal & its a quicker option than the original planJust hope that it tastes as good as the recipe sounds!

Ok so here is my meal plan for the next week. Only put evening meals down as the lunches are mostly sandwich/soup ect
6th sausage casserole, mash changed as we had such a busy day didn't have time to do in SC and didn't want to have oven on for hours. Had sausage and cheesy potatoes. All in so not too bad
7th leftovers of above stayed as leftovers, had enough of the edited above
[STRIKE]8th beans on toast[/STRIKE] done
9th poached eggs on toat, or omelette (depending on my mood)
10th bacon and potato casserole
11th ribs, duck pancake kit, HM Chinese style beef noodles with curry sauce (DD not with us, all in freezer ready :j)
12th leftover bacon potato casserole from 10th
The night where we are just having a small evening meal DD is in nursery and will have had a big cooked lunch and isn't as hungry in evenings. Usually make a big meal but it always goes to waste, so have decided to start making lighter evening meal to reduce on the waste ect
Thinking I would cook a plain sponge in a large tray and portion it out, blast for a few secs in micro in the eve to heat, and serve with custard and fruit. Cheap to do and feels like a small treat. Also have a lot of bread flour in cupboard so will make HM crusty bread to go with casserole.
Have everything in ready to do the above, so plan is to have a £0 spend week . Wish me luck, can't remember the last time I didn't go to a food store at least once in a week and buy extras we don't need!
Will post up my whole month meal plan next. Started on feb meal plan and have decided to book my online food shop slot now ready. Giving I'm getting bigger by the day and struggling to manage toddler, trolly and bump have thought a large monthly online delivered shop is now my best bet. That way I can focus on what we actually need and get the meals cooked and frozen right at start of month. Booked under hubby's name as I could claim another £12 off first shop, then I've used collected nectar points giving a total of nearly £30 off the shop. This has managed to get 2x whole chicken, 3xpork mince, 3xbeef mince and 20 pork sausages; effectively free:j.
I usually don't buy much meat in supermarket but with the offers and money off thought it was a better idea. Plan on getting a large ham joint to boil and slice for sandwiches, throwing in pasta dishes and good old ham egg and chips. Again think it will work out cheaper as I can get a massive side for £20 and will stretch. Stock will also be used in risotto dishes then. Am also going to stock up on beef and chicken pieces, as buying in bulk saves us a lot of the retail price. I can buy catering size packs and use my 2nd freezer to store.
Anyhow enough of my late night ramblings again, will post the menu now. And thanks for keeping me going guys, really spurs you on when others are doing so well.

well I am rubbish! I still haven't finished my meal plan for the month, I really miss not having a calandar in the kitchen roll on monday! (we have no money till then) I am sending OH to sainsburys later to do shopping with his nectar card as we are almost out of meat last lot of chicken drumsticks tonight. although not sure what to do with these ones have hardly anything in. My stores have never been so low.
any suggestions I have onions, potatoes, pasta, rice, chicken, stock, baked beans, frozen sprouts, various soups.
I was thinking some kind of curried type casserole? its the lack of veg im not liking- tinned mushy peas don't count!I need to start saving so I plan to save £2 a week to start with:beer:0 -

Brunettegirl - have you got flour and butter/marge/lard? If you have you could make a chicken pie and use one of the tins of soup as a sauce in it - can use as it is if it's condensed otherwise you'll need to boil it hard to reduce it. Serve with mashed pots & veg.

I am sticking to weekly meal planning - I think monthly is a bit too long for us. We'll crumble and eat out!
Sticking to our plan, and I think we'll manage without freezer night as I used left over shepherds pie from the weekend, mixed in some chorizo and had it in pitta breads. I'd normally have bonned such a small amount!
Husband says after each meal "that was tasty" as if its a surprise...
Also good side effect have lost 5lbs in 5 days!NOT a NEWBIE!
