Evening, I did post on the weekly mealplan thread but I think I'll post here as well so I can keep an eye on how well I'm doing with it. So, here's my mealplan for the coming days:
Tues 8th - Chicken Curry with Rice
Weds 9th - Meat Feast Pasta Bake
Thurs 10th - Jacket Potato with Melee Beans
Fri 11th - HM Baguette Pizzas
Sat 12th - Chicken & Bacon Lasagne with Garlic Bread
Sun 13th - Roast Lamb with All the Trimmings
Mon 14th - Hot Roast Lamb Baguettes with Minty Gravy OR Cold Roast Lamb Salad Wraps with Minty Mayo Dressing and Sliced Sweet Red Peppers.
That's as far as planning has got at the moment, but it's always a work in progress - I'm always looking for new things to try and I think this thread will help to bring more ideas together.
Hope you don't mind me tagging along for the meal plan ride.

Slightly changing the meal I've got planned for tomorrow. Instead of a chicken pot pie, it will be a pork pot pie. I've only got 4 chicken breasts left and I need those for the chicken marsala on Thursday, but I have a bit of leftover roast pork still in the freezer after measuring out what we will need for tonight and lunch tomorrow.0

It's going well in Pollys household. Spaghetti bolognese and garlic bread for tea. I'll make some biscuits whilst the oven is on. The children are really enjoying having the weekly menu pinned on the noticeboard.

M - [STRIKE]Vegetable lasagne[/STRIKE] (no, had pasta, sweetcorn and tuna)
T - [STRIKE]Salmon fillets, rice and veg[/STRIKE] (think I'll do Monday's veg lasagne as the salmon fillets are frozen so won't hurt, whereas the veg will go past)
W - Lamb chops and veg
T - Tuna pasta bake (think I'll do Tuesday's food as had pasta tuna pasta tonight instead)
UPDATE:
Did the vegetable lasagne and it was gorgeous - extra bonus is enough left for me for lunch tomorrow :T! Took a while to do but it was time well spent - DD came out with me in the kitchen and did chocolate brownies which went down extremely well *rubs full tummy happily*!Flymarkeeteer: £168 and counting0 -
That was the quickest and one of the easiest meals I've ever made. Pulled pork with bbq sauce, homemade gluten free brown bread (in a mug!), and sweet corn. Didn't have the potato wedges because, frankly, I wasn't going to wait 45 minutes for them!0

Winnie - I took some leftover pork roast we had, shredded it and put a few tablespoons of heinz smoky sauce over it for the pulled pork.
Here's the recipe for the gluten free bread in a mug (I'm guessing this will work with regular flour as well, not tried that yet):
~80g gluten free bread flour mix (self raising, with xanthan gum mixed in)
~10 g shortening (like cookeen)
1 egg
1 tsp water
3 tbsp buttermilk (or 3 tbsp milk + 3/4 tsp lemon juice - omit water)
1 tsp sugar (or honey or 1 tbsp applesauce)
Combine the flour and shortening and mix until the shortening is completely incorporated. Combine all wet ingredients in a mug, then incorporate the flour mixture and the sugar. Stir until well combined. Place mug into the microwave and cook for 85 seconds (or longer, ours took nearly 3 minutes each). Slide a knife around the bread once it's cooked and cool a bit before slicing.
It's very good bread, but it's quite high in calories. The next time I make it, I'll have half of it, then I'll save the other half for another meal.0 -
