Technically ,yes, practically very unlikely..havent read the thread..but its not a great PR coup to ban someone for complaining.Well if they did,you would put that in the Paper too, presumably.

You could spend your time making up lurid tabloid headlines for your story..

Asda premises are private property so they can withdraw your invitation to enter, though as Hollydays says its extremely unlikely.

The much more likely outcome is you'll get a proper apology letter and a more substantial gift card to say sorry.

    Thanks for shareing this, OP.

I'm in a similar situation as your first post on this thread. I usually shop at ASDA, but decided to do a weekly shop in TESCO. In one of their 'Value' orange juices I found a green maggoty thing. Goodness only knows how it got in there (I honestly don't want to know as it cant have come from the fruit as everything is pulverised!). I took it back to the store and was refunded the 58p it cost - they also took my address and phone number and said they would contact us in a few weeks.

Whilst I know it's not Tescos fault as such, I'm really peed off as it was a long drive to take the OJ back to get 58p! (we called in to Tesco on our way home and it is a good 25 mins drive away) - I originally went to our local public health office at the council (can't remember the official name offhand, but I'm sure you know what I mean!!), but they said I had to go to the one that covered the stores area and we were unable to get there in office hours, so decided in the end to just take it back to Tesco.

Will let you know if I do hear anything back as it is interesting to see how the different (big) stores handle such a similar issue.

    :hello: oldmcdonald

58p :rotfl:  what an insult!!!
you say they cant come back and say its from the fruit.....bet they will try it. I got "potatoes are a natural product and sometimes bugs can remain in the product" even though it was a ready meal, made and packed in a clean factory supposedly!!!!!!!
They will probably send you a gift card through the post but i hope you dont have to ring them and send letters as much as i have to remind them.
I honestly think they just do not care, lets face it my 1 man army is a damn site smaller than their big army and i think they will carry on fobbing me off.
Im just hoping martin comes up trumps with the paper!!!
I wish you luck (you will prob need it more than me dealing with tesco) and dont forget to let us know what the outcome is.:D

Ah! DH phoned the store and spoke to the manager, who asked where we were coming from (how far we had to travel). When we told him he said to bring it in to him and we would be compensated. We assumed (stupidly) he meant for the travel! When we were given the 58p, DH repeated what we had been told and all we could get from the store, no matter who we spoke to, was 'that will be at head offices descretion'.

Like banging your head against a brick wall and just gave up in the end.

Unfortuantly unless they put in the comments of the RP125 that you had travelled all that distance the head office will just give you the standard compensation.
I Think it would be useful to post some things about the RP125 that could help you all in the future (this is the form that tesco uses for faulty food products).
Firstly the CSD assistant should explain to you that they will refund the money now, and that they will do an RP125 to send to the head office and that the head office will reply to you in either 2-3 weeks.
The first screen will ask for your details (these can either be entered manually or by swiping your clubcard - make sure the title and name is correct as sometimes the refund will come from the supplier in cheque form).
The second page is the page to establish the product. They should scan the product (or find it on the system if the packaging is not available). They also need to add data in on the date it was purchased the BBD and things like that.
This should be the page for additional comments, so the CSD assistant should ask you what to put: Helpful hint - this is the place to write about any inconvieniances caused So in the OP case that her son will not eat anything or in Old McDonalds case that the journey cost more than the refund etc.
The last page asks if a refund has been given and where the reminants of the product is now - for example sample of product kept in store (disposed of by customer is also an option here ). It will also ask about replys from head office - if a reply is asked for than usually compensation is given, if no reply requested you will just get the refund.

Now for the last bit the assistant should be putting labels on the product now - ask them to go to "find a form" and print you a copy of the report. This takes about 15 seconds and will enable you to see what has been written (and a chance to amend it if you feel that the person left out vital details) it will also give you a reference number. So after 2-3 weeks with no reply you can ring (free) 0800505555 and quote your number and see the status off the report.
    Hope this helps someone.

I've got a reply from Tesco - that was much quicker than I expected, I think it was last Monday we took it back!

Letter appologises, says that it was probably due to a faulty seal and that they have told their supplier about this as a precaution.

I also got a Tesco Moneycard with £15 on it.

Certainly a much quicker response than OP got from ASDA.
